PACKRAFTING HUKA FALLS!

Taking the Packraft down Huka Falls- Had this in the works for sometime & couldn't be happier how it went. A really fun run down the falls!
Impressed once again how well the Alpacka Valkyrine handles the Whitewater. Will for sure be getting out in this Packraft more in the future!
Thanks to- Rod Hill for coming along & capturing some sweet Images & also Max Rayner who joined me on the lap as well my girlfriend Nadja with the banger iphone shots!

Hey Ryan, around 1984ish we used to paddle it and when its really low i always thought u could paddle it without a paddle. The hole above bridge has little or no water going over it and we ran it rh side with tiny hole. Only dodgy bit is the waterfall becomes horseshoe shaped and u can get stuck in it at that level as my m8 did but he flushed out as soon as he pulled tab on his 4m olmpia boat by qaulity kayaks, after doing 5 or 6 endos in the bott hole lol. WORLD 1st, Huka falls no paddle

That Valk is so much more narrow than my Wolverine! Bet it is easy to roll (if ya had to). That falls run was flawless!

Its really basically, a grade 2/3 run with consequences ( not unlike a strainer) at that flow.... Still take commitment too put in, thought...
