- Mike Leach was asked about the shovel pass Luke Falk has used with success at WSU. He said there was a QB at Texas Tech that couldn't make the simple play, so he demonstrated how it's done - like only he can.
Claims to be 76 off the cuff, he was 56 when this was filmed.

RIP to this legendary pirate !! Have quite a few friends & family that are Texas Tech alumni & I was fortunate & blessed to have been able to witness the love & support he had in Lubbock. In the end, Texas Tech did him wrong but I will always respect how he continued trucking on coaching. Funniest, most eccentric dude to ever coach football hands down. RIP
No other coach would explain this to the media ..
I was just watching an interview before he coached against his previous school (Texas Tech) last year in a bowl game and how they still owe them money.
Close your eyes and think of ANY Coach in the country and ask how many coaches would talk to the media about someone owing them money lol..only Coach Leach.

Hell I'd of locked myself in a broom closet if he'd of came to SC in 16. 😉😈😉 I love this guy. There is no way someone is accidentally this funny. Enter Mike Leach. A man who could've done anything he wanted to. In another life I really could see this guy being one of the best TV sitcom dad's of all time or a real pirate like Steve in Dodgeball just much more menacing.

Both ways are correct. Some coaches say Shovel, and some say Shuttle. Different terminology, same things. No different than pitch play or toss play.

Grant Henderson I love this. Ya’ll hated him when he was Tech’s coach, LOL. Threw batteries at our guys, but yeah... the ever evolving air raid, as coached by Leach himself and nobody else, needs to make its way to the SEC. If for no other reason than watching Saban lose his ever-loving mind. LOL... omg...
If he comes to ole miss I'm transferring down there. My post-grad applications will go to wherever he is.
