CANuckFan same here
CANuckFan definitely cool as shit id love to spend the day just skating there
Same here
Same
CANuckFan what city
Officially on my bucketlist
Smae
Someone just has to get a portable sharpener and set up shop at the start. Charge a few bucks for a sharpen and you got yourself a little business in the winter!
Depends, hockey skates have pop in blades now
Fu q you still need to sharpen them
Fu q lmao
That’s a great idea
Great idea!
pretty sure your brother could do an entire vid on your channel and nobody would even notice it wasn't you.
Is that his fookin twin?!
His brother looks a little like Rick Nash.
Mode85 or Jeremy
Bruh it looks like the canal map in NHL 20
DR DOOM maybe cause it is 🤦🏼♂️😂
Get McDavid out here to see how fast he can skate down the river
You need McDavid here. He could go like 20mph
Thomas Marusak he already skates faster than 25 mph at a rink
GDI 109 😂
Jack Bruce mystery Alaska reference?
Dylan larkin still hold the record for all you McDavid fans...
Brb packing my bags
Jenna Ballinger I’ll go get you some Timmy’s for when you get here lol
Jenna Ballinger yo same
Worst city ever (I live here)
That looks incredible. Guess I need to head to Ottawa! I need to check out the Ottawa Jr. 67's program anyway! 😎
Culturama the 67’s are pretty booty try somewhere else bud
The 67s rock
Cameron Denny no we don't, I'm on the team
Yes you should, I'm on the Major Peewee AAA team
Culturama what city are you talking about
There's a gaint skate trail here in Winnipeg Manitoba and you can kinda do the same thing we skate on the two major rivers in the middle of the city
www.theforks.com/events/signature-events/skating-trails-park-conditions
Yeap!
I visited Winnipeg when I was 18 and absolutely loved it, so much so that I want to move my family from England to Winnipeg. Am I right in thinking there is a mall next to one of the rivers?
GO JETS, GO!!!!
Names of rivers?
The Red River and the Assiniboine River
Wow! That’s awesome too!
What an amazing way to wake up and show up to work refreshed
this brings back so many memories for school in winnipeg we went on a trip to ottawa and went skating right by the food shops😫❤️ in 2018
GLOWYOGAMING Does Winnipeg still have that long skating trail at the forks?
Observationally yes
Me and my hockey team decided to skate here for a few hours for some fun and exercise
Thank you. Finally someone made a video on this. I have been living in Ottawa for 13 years and it’s finally getting online recognition. My dad commutes to work everyday when the canal is frozen over. And I use it as well.
This video made my day. I need to go to Ottawa now.
When I lived in carleton residence in first year, we used to go to that little side street to play some puck all the time. It’s absolutely perfect for it.
As a kid I lived in Peterborough Canada then we moved to Los Angeles. Talk about a culture shock. I am 62 and I still remember skating and using our toboggan down our neighbors hill called McKinney Hill because the McKinney’s owner the house. All the neighborhood kids used it and I skated on ponds.
This is AWESOME. Imagine how nice a commute this would be.
I really live in the wrong country :((( ........ greetings from germany :D
Warum schreiben wir Deutsche eigentlich IMMER "greetings from germany"? :D
@@zymbol7479 ja, wahr :))) weiß nicht
Ofen fire shous?? Don’t know if that’s a thing, is it? Hear it in call of duty
Greetings from Ottawa.
Greetings from Vancouver.
I Rollerblade too school and go 6 miles almost evryday. (I live in Texas)
I’m from Canada, but I live in Saskatchewan! That’s quite a bit of ice where you live, eh?
Oh my god this is so cool!! I always dreamed of ice skating across the city or to school haha! Definitely need to visit this place! Beautiful vlog ❄️
I would definitly go from one end to the other all day with a stick and puck just dangling.
7:02 IM DEAD LOOK AT THAT KID
USK Knifeonly over exaggerated stride
tryin to imitate the mackinnon stride lol
Wtf I’m dying 😵😂😂
people tell you not to skate like that
That would be though
Lol
The guy at the shop who sharpens my skates has the ones like that old guy did but say Canadian cycle and motor instead of CCM which is pretty awesome. He says they skate very well like he said too.
honestly very lucky to live in Ottawa, sadly it has barely been open the last several years
Seeing a place you see every single day on youtube is such a strange feeling
I’m 12 years old and i live near ottawa. Yesterday just went outside to winterlude and skated on the canal for free. Living in ottawa is TRULY AWESOME
Thats so cool. Always heard that ottawa was boring. Definetly on my list of places to visit now...
I remember from my visit to Ottawa 20 years ago it was during the Winterlude in February and there were plenty of food stalls etc on Dowes lake.
I actually had this dream one time I was skating to school when I was younger absolutely crazy

I live south of ottawa and have a lot of family and friends that do this daily, actually my father went to school everyday when we was in Carlton uni. With covid their was a huge drop in tourism and made its a much better to use because on normal years its packed mid day from tourist
I've lived here in Ottawa my whole 23 years of living. Such a beautiful, yet small city. Tons of things to do, and most of all, pretty much everyone here loves their hockey ;)
New addition to my bucket list. --- Question: when are you gonna make some more training tips and tricks videos?
I started watching your videos for your great hockey tips. Your production style and presentation are just so mellow and helpful. Then this came up in my feed since I sub'd to your channel. Years ago I saw something about a Canadian city a really really long ice rink but for at least 8 years I couldn't remember or find which one. Now that I know, I am seriously going to pack the family and head to Ottawa. The wife, myself, and our 10 & 5 year old (girl/boy both hockey players) are going to spend an entire day skating that canal! This is amazing. Cannot wait until they get home from school so I can show them your video!
have been twice in Ottawa ... fell in love with this City. Best regards from Germany
Im 14 at the moment but when I turn 18 I will be visiting this place for sure!
Oh my gosh I wish I saw you there I was there a few days later but still pretty cool
This is my dream town
Y
And by town you mean giant ass city...
Devon Felix same
It is a truly amazing city. Can't wait to go tomorrow
From Montreal but we love visiting Ottawa at least once a year. Beautiful place to visit, I highly recommend :)
That's epic. Would love to be able to skate to work or anywhere
Ahhh.. memories, I used to skate to school, Ottawa U.
I wish we could have sth like this in Germany.
we have this in Stockholm :)
Robert Tang oh so close but so far i live in Lahti Finland
Ehc 1980 to warm

Robert Tang är du svensk
I remember as a kid going there for a hky tourny and we throw cups or bottles of water off the balkinis and it turn to ice before hitting the ground it was so cold.and also skating there.👍👍👊
My grandparents live there, we go every year and skate on the canal it’s great
wtf 10 months later i see this comment that i forgot i made
Wish Edmonton would do this, river right through the middle of the city
same with calgary and bow river
The canal is a shallow, manmade river though.
This is my hometown thanks for coming glad u enjoyed its greatbto see u here
my wife has never been to canada, or seen any snow for that matter. I'll definitetly add this to our bucket list
Awesome video! Ear to ear smile. 😀
On occasion we get some gnarly ice storms in the southern US that dump up to an inch of ice on everything. I've heard people skate around in areas where it's thick and consistent enough. I've never seen it though.
You know what would be super cool! Skating from Ottawa to Montreal. It's about 200 km or 130 miles, so pretty much but not impossible
I've been there and also skated on the Canada 150 rink in 2017 that was on parliament hill.
This will definitely be on my bucket list! Thanks for the share! Appreciate that!
That’s awesome! Ok, I’m moving to Ottawa...
Great video of one of our capital's best winter's features. I was on the canal with my daughter's hockey team last night. It was snowy and completely inviting. A fantastic hockey tournament weekend in Ottawa. Too bad we didn't run into you. lol
Added...
Family trip to Ottawa from Scarborough np too bad there isn't a frozen river we could skate on to go there.
I’ve skated on it, it’s great fun and it’s got the best side shops
Wish I could do this so bad. I would kill to do this man. This is any skater/hockey players dream
Old tacks at 6:23 - Awesome!
Thats freaking awesome when i was in Lanfield Michigan i used to snowboard/tailgate
Using a canal as an avenue seems legit
Also guy with the ladder, genius
Quality content, you seem a pretty chill fude, im subscribing
Reminds me of a nesitat ki da breeze keep up the great work
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more Canadian thing in my life
wow that super awsome, never knew this, this is another plus just to move to canada.
When the covid lockdowns loosen up, I'm going to Ottawa for this canal. I should probably do it in the winter time...
Isn’t the opening scene one of the drop in rinks in NHL 20?
This definitely has to be a spot I visit in my upcoming future
I live in Ottawa I’ve never been on the canal though, I did get to skate on the out door rink that was on parliament though
OMG Love this video. Makes me want to learn to skate (2020 New Years Resolution) and book a trip here to try this out 😊
Skating is super easy to learn just go to a local rink rent some skates and just walk
@@americaproud9344 ..i would specify ...start with woman skates...they have pics to help to push foward
@@voicije the pic doesn't really help all it does is make where u will toe pick on accident and end up falling more often
@@americaproud9344 ..my simple opinion...because...i skate with both of them...and...i can't skate with men's skates!...i fall not on my back!...nose first...because i am used to skate with the ones with pics!!!(sorry if there are writing errors..i speak french! )
I love the hockey community
Wow ive never really realized how good you are at editing
I have been to Ottawa more times then I can count, and I can’t remember seeing this. Next time I’m going to be looking.
Could not stop smiling the whole vid! Love the music too!!
That’s beautiful. A ‘must do’ in my life
I’m from BUFFALO and I have to say CANADIANS ARE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE! This is a Skaters PARADISE!! YOU REALLY LIVE RIGHT!!
Love this, definitely plan to do this with the family!!!
I always wanted to live in Canada..
3:45 I used to live a block away from the creek
My favorite channel on all of UA-cam!!!
Damn hockey players dream to skate to work def on my bucket list. Would be great practice too everyday with a stick n puck
I want to go to Ottawa in the winter someday because of this
I canskate to work where I live too, except it’s inlines instead of ice skates.
Bro that's the Rideau Canal in Ottawa 🙂 it's super fun to skate there but in the later season the Ice can be a little badly maintained and it turns into hard slush lol.
Can you please review “True Skate Custom skates”? Please and thanks
Can't wait to skate there! Going tomorrow!!
I go up there almost every year but it never freezes in time so that’s a bummer for me because I live down in Florida where it doesn’t snow at all.
On my bucket list for sure
Skaboots would be great when you’re commuting. You could put your skates on and off inside. No cold fingers trying to lace up
I’ve skated there and usually during the night there’s a lot of of place to on the way
Night skates are super fun!
That is friggin awesome. Thanks for the vid 👍
When you live near Ottawa you take it all for granted takes a bit of the magic out of it all
Saw it in a 24 hr video looks sick really want to go there
Hey you can only skate that length when it's really cold for a least two weeks, below -15, then it's good,if it's clear an cold like in your video,
It would be really fun to sky dive with skates on and parachute and land there
We get to skate on the canal during gym class
Thomas Enright sams here what school u go to
@@codgod106 Mac
Wow didn't know CCM Tacks line goes way back.
I live in Ottawa the Rideau canal is great
Aren't we lucky to have such an awesome ODR in our backyard? :)
I just noticed it’s in Rideau canal I just went there like 1 week before closing didn’t know you lived in ottawa
ONLY IN CANADA!!!!! ahahah this is something id love to do
Side note, if you leave earlier for work you can skate to work and work on puck handling along the way
I need this .......all Chicago and suburbs rinks closed for months because of the virus .....
I would love to go there - right now!
I love it, citizens of Ottawa city are really lucky guys :)))
one day...
