    This show was to real for TV. Hollywood got scared 😳 too many people started talking about wow does this really happen in the hood??? Next thing....... Cancelled so they turned it softer and turned it into moesha

      You never lied this show was way before it’s time. Just like folks were asking, “does this really happen in the hood” several years later when “The Wire” debuted I used to hear all the time about is Bmore really like this and is Bmore really like that smh lol. Sometimes I didn’t mind it but I remember especially when I was in the military it became a pain in the ass being asked about my city and the negative shit that we had going on. I bet anything this show would probably be one the highest rated shows on tv long as they didn’t try to water it down and kept it 💯 like other hood shows. Definitely get rid of the laugh track and turn it into a comedy/drama like ATL or turn it into a 100% drama with a little action in it like Snowfall or other shows like it.

Tasha loves her mom but it pissed me off tht it seemed Joqn never cared about where Tasha's hurt feelings were coming from. Her dad showed her the type of love parent to child & Joan treated her like a sister wife. She coddled Andre because the other brother died & took on Deon to take his place & needed Tasha to pick up the slack of a 2nd parent. It was her bday, let her have tht one day.

    Moms was a little unreasonable here. Although providing those daily essentials are obviously super important, you can’t expect a child to truly appreciate it at the time. Although her father wasn’t there everyday, him showing up for her birthday and taking her out was super special too. The writing and acting was pretty dope on this show.

    • @robertfranks665

      I agree, and the words of the father were pretty powerful too telling the mother that she didn't believe in his dreams and what he tried to do. Also, the part when the mother admitted to kicking the father out and the kids didn't even know that she did that. He was just portrayed as a father who abandoned his family, but that wasn't the case.

    I understand that the mom put a lot of responsibilities on Tasha at an early age where she literally should have been focusing on being a little girl but the mom is right she does everything for her children and showing gratitude shouldn’t be so hard. I thought she was about say she kicked him out for chasing skirts but when it was for something that would’ve benefited that household, her decision to divorce came to her from a selfish motivation.

    • @tincredible
      @tincredible Рік тому +2

      She won't forget everything the mother does because the mother is there every day. But it's not her job to share her mom's anger with her dad. The child is innocent in the situation and has every right to express her love for both parents, even if one parent is trifling. Good or bad, children should be entitled to their own perspectives of their parents. They shouldn't be burdened with a "responsibility" to share in their parents' feud that they didn't create. And I think that the son was equally entitled to his feelings of his father.

    • @LMLification
      @LMLification 6 місяців тому +2

      She probably gave him time to straighten up financially and see if his dream would fall through, but in the meantime, those children needed financial support. Sometimes parents have to put aside their dreams when they see their children have immediate needs. Being in the same house is great, but children need money, too. It is hard to ascertain everything will happen before marriage and children. Some secrets go to the grave. He could have perhaps had a stable job and invested in his family until the pipe dream came along.

Despite Nicole's pleas, Andre refuses to behave civilly toward his father. Andre confronts a group of gang members who try to crash the party. He is furious when James comes off as the hero by defusing the situation peacefully. Andre tells him off and starts a shoving match. After James criticizes Joan's parenting skills, she screams and throws him out of the party. Tasha follows her father and spends the rest of the day with him. Andre discovers some surprising information, although he had assumed that James abandoned the family. Joan actually ended the marriage. When Tasha returns, Joan tells her she doesn't have to turn her back on her father, but could show her mother some appreciation.

    The mom was definitely wrong here. The little girl just wants to see and be around her father. She put him out, and tore apart her own family. Not to mention the mom works her like a dog, and has her take on responsibilities that she shouldnt have to take on, while letting Andre off the hook. Of course Tasha is going to choose her father over her mother. He allows her to be a kid, and gives her that love she doesnt recieve from mom.

    I see where the mother is coming from, but also see where Tasha s coming from. She needs to appreciate her Mom, but there seems to be a lack of appreciation for Tasha too. The mother brought the little boy in the house, only for Tasha to mostly take care of him, while she pays most of her attention at home to Andre. So her father get’s romanticized, and is like a fantasy in her head. Though he isn’t shit, her mother not really paying attention to her, makes her long for her father.

      That's the problem. It;s the stereotypical narrative f the father's ain't shit predicated upon what the mother said about their baby daddies. The Single mothers are the one's who ain't shit and Kevin Samuels exposed that narrative. Joan was a single mother by preference, The father did commit infidelity, he was laser focus on his purpose and his purpose seemed to be more intangible than just Joan and that's that Joan hated, Blk Men in amerikkka have been taught to put the woman first like Jahiem and that distorts what's more consequential to him. Single mothers teaches their kids, particularly their sons that their fathers are no good so the sons assimilated the brokenness of their mothers without knowing the facts. There's a video in social media of a brutha who's 26 years of age and all this time we was taught by his broken single mother that his father wasn't shit and he never written his letters, send him birthday cards, etc until he met his real father and his father showed proof of all the letters and birthday cards that his mother purposefully concealed from her son so she can sustain the false narrative that his father is garbage. My sister is the same way, that's why I cut that bitch off 3 years ago. She wants the make a mockery of The Most High and her baby daddy, she's gonna get exactly what she deserve. A Punishment that's cataclysmic and that goes for all the single mothers out there
