My stepmom is Hmong (I’m white) and when I would spend summers with her and my dad, this was something she fed me frequently. They live in Minnesota and grew up and still live in Virginia so when I went to visit for the first time after my son was born, she spent most of the time with my boy on her knee, throwing sticky rice balls into his mouth too 😂 FOREVER a comfort food of mine. Thank you for sharing!!!

I looked at a ton of videos on making purple rice and finally something that looks familiar!!! My family don't eat the actual purplerice either. Thanks!!!! #home
I never thought about using purple corn husk, ive always made it purple by soaking white sticky rice with "black" sticky rice. Soaked overnite and then just put it into a cone shaped bamboo steamer thing.
Hi! It's interesting to learn what people eat in other countries and how to make it and the ingredients. What kind of meat is laab?and What is hmong? You made it to pass out to family, friends or coworkers or neighbors.
No, it’s not sweet but it makes the rice smell very good and very soft. Once you try you will never go back to the old way. Lol 😂 You should try it. Thank you!
Purple Sticky rice is very popular for the Hmong people during New Year... thank you for watching!

Yes, it's interesting... Thank you for watching, my friend!
Laab dishes can be any kind of meat; chicken, beef, pork, sometimes even eaten raw but be careful lol. Laab is just the name of the seasoning.
I’ve never made sticky rice with the young coconut or with the powder before. Does it make the rice sweet?
