    Great stuff. This is definitely all that I need to get through this technique. I was entirely confused about the sequence of pull, breath, kick and stretch. Thanks

    We need an update with Leon Marchand swimming, more Adam peaty, and more Michael Andrew.
    Edit: we definitely need Qin Haiyang on repeat now lol, his stroke is very fluid, no stops and studderings.

    Can someone explain to my why swimmers pull their hands out of the water in breaststroke? Thanks !

    • @yutaj.8466

      I had the same question. I was told by my coach that they do it to reduce drag.

    • @xxxxneoxxxx
      @xxxxneoxxxx 4 роки тому

      When you recover the hands out of the water it's faster and it causes less resistance (drag) and the muscles activated during the recovery face get less tired hence making you more efficient.

      Personal style. Not really a proven advantage but some swimmers feel like it's faster because of momentum. In some ways, there is some logic because air is less resistant than water, but then they end up putting the hands in the water again which causes more resistance, so...

    They are professional swimmers.. it will be a problem for the beginners to breathe with every stroke.... So stick to basics

    • @kevincarson522
      @kevincarson522 5 років тому +8

      What? Breathing every stroke in breaststroke IS basic.

      Most exhale with their nose, so she has very strange technique for breathing.
