I can't fully explain why, but having all the little yellow paint lines in city mode is really doing it for me. I believe that is a city more than any other city former I've seen.

The lights on the building are what made this thing for me. I swear I'm the only collect that loves base modes, and gives himself the considerable task of making cohesive skylines.
Almost acquired this fella for five bucks in an auction due to a clerical error. Never have I felt more cheated than when that auction house kept me from cheating them
Man the yellow lines in city mode do something for me. Reminds me of the buildings in Akira, really makes him feel like a city with actual bots living there instead of just a big pile of nothing
I always felt that Fort Max was the least cool of the city bots, and was freaking huge to compensate, but I do quite like all the play features of his city mode. The double headmaster gimmick is also really cool. I’m really happy that there is now a Scorponok that has the double headmaster and scales with Fort Max.
Y'know when I was younger I never realized that FortMax's battleship mode is literally just a the White Base from Gundam but that sure is what they're going for huh
More than one more, keep them coming. I have the original, there are definitely some features missing from the original that look great here, like the "lights in the windows" on the buildings etc. The color scheme here is definitely fun.
Be it Brave or Fortress, ol' Maximus is the one piece of your collection you can use to protect the rest of it from burglars. Trust me, even the most seasoned criminals soil their underworldly underoos once they see a butt-ass naked manchild covered in honey-mustard sauce coming at them while swinging a gigantic cityformer around wildly, screeching "MORE MUCH MORE THAN MEETS THE EEEEEYE!!!". Works every time!
I would sell my ass for this. You are spot-on 100% right about that color scheme. I could have got a vanilla Fort Max a dozen times over by now, but it's worth waiting to one day own this work of art.
*stares at the wrinkled tower sticker* I see that all of the Korean Sonokong releases did indeed put that sticker on upside-down. Also, I think this mold really makes Titans Return Maximus look like it was designed on a really tight budget. I wonder if the IDW-style treads they were planning for it would have made it better? Probably not.
When I had my G1 collection, this was the centerpiece with Sixshot and Predaking on either side. I preferred the colours. It's difficult to appreciate how big he is until you see one in person. One of the few I wish I'd never sold.
Double Headmaster is incredible that's the sorta thing you must love. I kinda dig that battleship, I think I'm just always a sucker for a battleship, Tidal Wave love him, that one half of Omega Supreme from Energon beautiful. But that city is even better, the sticker windows do so much work. You're so right it looks like there's so much value in this guy

Lucky! I wish I could afford this guy and had the room for him. He, Tow-Line and the spy changers all I'm missing to completing the RID cast in my collection.
This recently dawned on me. I've seen a similar colour scheme like this one, but it came out six years before Mr Maximus: the Lego Spyrius minifigures. Anyone remember those little dudes?
The bots are Cerebros, Emissary and Fortress/Brave Maximus. This Cerebros is still the size of a normal Autobot whereas the original small head Spike was a human. So that means, in canon; Brave Maximus is bigger than Fortress Maximus.
Never released in the UK had to admire G1 Fort Max through the window of Arcadia a local toyshop who had him to win in a competition. I did get hold of Brave Max for £150 and sold him for just over £300 a few years later due to financial issues. Dam I miss my G1 Takara Re-issue collection.
This guy is probably based on the Fort Max expy from Transfomers: Super-God Masterforce, who was a Pretender Head Master. In Japan, the heads were the actual characters, and transforming bodies were pretty much prosthetic bodies for them to interact with.
Very cool and I never had one two growing up but now being a stroke and cardiac arrest survivor and on a Disability check from the government here in Hamilton Ontario Canada I can't afford to buy one Even on the secondary market
