That is a real nice dragon and that neck movement is pretty cute, the only dragon transformer comparison I can really think of is my memories of Scourge from Cybertron and I buy this as a dragon a lot more than that one. I do love a good asymmetric robot mode so 10/10 for that dragon arm. I also respect the transportation mode for having the two heads on full display.
Don't forget about Prime Predaking. Plus, now when I think about it. Isn't it funny that all 3 of those Dragon transformers, had a "Ice themed" recolor?
Blue is such a better color than red and I much prefer this figure. It's a real beauty. When you asking Nick if you can keep it? He's got lots of other toys he won't miss this one.
How strange that a repurpose of a trans metal BW figure fits in so well with the RID deception lads. That “transportation mode” does make the dragon look depressed with how his head slumps across the ground like that.
I love these colours and I hope we see another version of this design someday. My only complaint about the robot mode is that chest is way too small for what he is.
Technicly we had. And what I mean is... At least from what I remember. BW Transmetal 2 Megatron Cybertron Scourge And Prime Predaking, all had "Ice themed" recolor. Sooo.. As long as your ok with Scourge or Predaking desighn, you should have some options.
I friggin LOVED my Transmetal 2 Megatron as a kid. One of my all-time favorite Beast Wars figures. Which is another way of saying, one of my all-time favorite childhood toys.
I do miss that era when they would redeco a toy of a big name character and just invent something entirely new nowadays there are just so many Optimus and Megatrons that only get done as other slightly different Optimus and Megatrons, it's such a missed opportunity
I'd love to say that Legacy Dragon Megs will get a Gen Selects repaint of this, but I'm doubtin' it. I scored a Cryotek from the bargain bin for $10 back in the day. He was in there because the packaging was trashed. The toy was great, though! He's still around here somewhere.
The lever used to puppeteer the head has a latch that secures the head in position for the "transport mode" but I wouldn't recommend doing it these days. The flexible plastic in my TM2 Megs is getting a bit... questionable. And for TM2 Megs you have to remove the lever and reinstall it because it was put on backward at the factory. This Cryotek's lever appears to be in the correct forward-pointing position, I don't know if that's because Cryotek doesn't have the same problem or because your friend fixed it.
Man, I'm happy for you that your Cryotek hasn't disintegrated yet. Mine's falling apart. I'm trying to superglue him together and he's hanging on with a hope and a prayer.
That sucks! I hear Transmetal 2 Megatron's going to be remade/re-released in an upcoming toyline. If we're lucky, maybe they'll give him a repaint reminiscent of Cryotek.
A daft blue dragon of extreme loveliness. Transparent ice blue, metallic purple, and opaque ultramarine blue. Its a crackin' toy and something about that bubble makes me think of a submersible. Don't know why but that seems like a bonus to me.
I have the 3rd party recreation of this in the original BW Megatron colors (Jiangxing Winged Dragon) and it literally demands an entire corner of my tiny apartment's second bedroom all to itself. A timeless design that sucks just enough to always be fun.

20 years ago I found TM2 Megatron on a nice day in good old germany when I decided to not visit the trade school. 😉 The Hips on this figure is really a big weak point.
I honestly think these colors look much better than Dragon Megatron's red. It's the main reason I got Perfect Effect's Psychro Knight over their Mega Doragon. I do hope that with the leaks that we'll be getting a leader Dragon Megatron next year that they repaint it into Cryotek.
I still don't know why is there a bubble cockpit on this figure and on Tigerhawk. The pilot seat on Optimal Optimus makes sence because he is more like a vehicle than a beast but here... But still i like this dragon.
Now I'm wondering if his plastic is more durable than Transmetal 2 Megatron's. I've got that one, and some of the lighter-red plastic is just the consistency of the red wax around cheese wheels. This loks like it's all the same blue throughout, so that might help? Also, I like how you kinda say "purples" as "pupples".
I am honestly always thrilled to find a Transformers figure that I had never even heard of before. It’s just sad that most of them come from Robots in Disguise….

Yea, Transmetal 2 figures are bouth wierd, and "COOL" at the same time. And as for "Transportation mode". From what I had seen. Transmetal 2 figures (at least the BIGGER scale one) still had to have 3 modes, like Transmetal 1. But other than that, a figure for the wrong toyline. But still a good one non the less.

The original plan was to have a figure in there but it was deemed too confusing. The concept was abandoned, but the cockpits made it onto the toys.
