    WOW, 1A has stepped up their YT game quite a bit. Rarely like music in these types of vids, however good choice a la Top Gear, maybe just lower the volume a bit more so we can hear the presenter better. Camera work is very slick, someone's got a steadi-cam....

    Very interesting video and I learned from that show & tell. Good job.
    Once u take the tire off of the rim, that's when u should point out the tire monitor. And is the tire monitor telling me what the pressure of the tire is? Is that the job of the monitor? When did u take off the valve? I didn't see u do it. U said u hv to put the valve back on.
    I guess I better watch Costco doing my tires to make sure they clean my rims should they need it.
    Thanks again for the video.

    Thank you for the demonstration. However, when mounting soft alloy wheels it is best to use the external lip clamp feature of the tire machine in order to prevent putting unwanted dimples in the customers expensive alloy wheels. Only use the internal clamp feature on steel wheels or wheels that you simply don't care if they are damaged. It's the small but significant details that make the difference. If you're paying for a professionals expertise then it should be expected.

    Always keep your valve stem at 12 and 6 when breaking it down so you dont brake the sensor. Some have a sensor connected to valve stem anf others are a band which is when the sensor is directly across from valve stem . If it was installed correctly.

    Im doing research and going to mount my own tires in a bit..1. isnt there a dot mark where u r suppose to put it next to the valve? 2. u said u want two tires going one way and the other 2 going the other way, is that rt? 3. how do you know which side goes on the inside r ther markings on the sidewall or u use the blue line as the indicator? thnks

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  3 роки тому +1

      +Philip Webb Thanks for watching! The machine tells you how much weight to up on either the inner or outer part of the wheel. If you need to put weight on both sides you just put them on opposite ends, 6 o'clock and 12 o'clock.

    What about the dots on the tires?

  • @chuckpritchard4566

    Why do tire shops not pay any attention to the colored dots on the tire? Tire manufactures recommend the yellow dot line up with the stem for balance purposes.

    How can you determine if the wheel is hub centric or lug centric? And doesn’t this determine how the wheel is mounted on the balancer? Thanks.

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  3 роки тому +1

      +Les Tapp Thanks for watching! The easiest way to tell the difference between the two designs is to look at the hub of a hub and wheel assembly. If the hole in the center of the wheel fits snugly against the hub, then it is hub-centric. If there is a gap between the center hole of the wheel and the hub, then it is lug-centric. You would have to use an adapter to mount lug centric wheels to the machine to be balanced.

    no I haven’t wondered. At 16 I was using these machines in auto shop. One thing I have always wondered was why does it cost so much to balance the tires when it’s so easy

    • @fowvee
      @fowvee 2 роки тому +2

      the expense of the machine, weights, employee, facility, insurances, utilities, taxes, etc., all add to the cost of doing business. Even the most mundane tasks acquire some degree of expense that must be covered or the business will not exist.

    you should clamp the wheel from the outside not the inside, any water, dirt, brake dust and it will slip potentially causing harm to operator or the wheel

    You can tell this was a sales man that doesn’t know the machines. And notice how that tire iron smacks the wheel when the he rotated the table. Good tire techs will pull that out after you fold the lip over the duck head it prior to rotating..this guy demonstrates how to damage wheels and picky customers will have the shop pay for repairs. But this is why high end shops don’t even mess with these machines and go to straight touch less.
