I've started having the exact same issue when I installed the latest VMware update. Turned out it's probably a bug in the new update and until now there is no proper fix to it. There are some possible work-arounds: communities.vmware.com/thread/634592 Yet I guess downgrading to the previous version is the best solution for now

I thought about uninstalling the workstation and reinstall the older version from their website, yet I'm afraid I may lose all the work I've done on the virtual machine
Abdelwaheb El Houimel you can just simply remove the app from the computer and install version 15.5.2 and then "open virtual machine you can find your old machine on root folder of the harddisk partition.
