    One of the things I love about how Negan talks is how he's plain and simple, like if he's talking to a kid. Makes sense since he used to be a teacher. Notice how he explains things happily and smiling, always joking and using examples easy to understand. He had to develop this skill to work with kids. Now he uses the same strategy, but talking about killing and bloody stuff haha

      He carried the later parts of the comics too until he left just before the Commonwealth stuff began. In the comics, he just has one cameo panel in the last issue, and he doesn’t come back into the story like he does in the show.
      I still recommend the comics though because they’re awesome and just different enough from the show to surprise you and keep you on your toes.
      Take this scene for example. In the “Here’s Negan” spin-off for the comics, his first human kill happens because the leader of some other group offers Negan a chance to rape a woman, and he finally snaps after months of feeling guilty over not putting down Lucille (unlike the show) and all the people dying around him in several groups while he was the only one who’d survive. He then goes on to explain how he sees the baseball bat being like how Lucille is watching over him.

    This flashback story is so compelling because it shows that someone who was actually a good person can take such a dark path in their life all cos of 1 thing.
    It’s also interesting because in contrast, Rick and Negan are very alike. The person I’d have loved to see was Daryl working alongside Negan, as Negan kinda represents the darker path that Daryl did NOT take. Similar to his brother Merle. Alongside Negan, Daryl could have easily been one of the biggest assholes due to his rough edged persona.

    • @HHHBFResurrected
      @HHHBFResurrected Рік тому +1

      I'm not sure via Daryl. I kind of see it but he was fiercely independent in the early seasons & always had a pure moral compass, the way he felt personally responsible for Sophia (when it really wasn't his fault) proved that. You could only have broken him with affection, force and/or assurances of safety wouldn't have worked & those were Negan's two strategies.
      The sure thing among past & present members of Rick's group would've been Shane if he'd have left like he'd originally planned too. Exactly the personality type Negan fed on (possessive) & would've been a cracking way to bring him back if the writing panned out differently. Would've been an even better version of Dwight.

    • @TheYankeeTexan
      @TheYankeeTexan Рік тому +6

      I think Negan represents the dark path that Rick in fact did not take. The thrifty typewriter explains in his Negan video that Rick very well could’ve become a Negan esque character had he been dealt different cards, perhaps not finding his family and having a great deal of misfortune at the beginning of the apocalypse. With that, Negan also could’ve become a leader similar to that of Rick. Had he been more fortunate at the start of the apocalypse, and may be saved his wife and had a reason to keep his humanity intact. Something to think about for sure.

    • @saifaliyaseen914
      @saifaliyaseen914 Рік тому +1

      @@HHHBFResurrected you have a fair point. But despite the fact he was independent, he was always on the fence with his morality, but his loyalty was key. Just play along with me for a minute:
      Let’s say Merle and Daryl were never taken in by the Atlanta camp, they never met Shane, Dale, Glenn or any of them. If they had met Negan and joined his crew, you could 100% expect them to stay loyal to negan, work with him and do their thing together. If they met Rick and the others later, there’s no chance they would be merciful about it. I mean there was definitely a key moment when Daryl and Merle were having an argument about when they had planned to rob the camp, or when the prison was taken and Daryl went with the claimers. He followed their code, and could have easily been one of them.
      I just think that if Daryl was pushed and manipulated by negan, he would have been 100% his right hand man over Simon and he would’ve gone along with it. Also agree with the next comment that Shane would have been exactly what Negan was looking for.

      @HHHBFResurrected Рік тому

      @@saifaliyaseen914 I couldn't see Negan's tactics working on him. I see what you're saying but I just couldn't imagine Daryl being comfortable enough to call himself Negan even if he didn't believe it, just can't. I could see them (Daryl & Merle) having an arrangement of sorts with the Saviours, like the garbage people, that wasn't predicated on Negan owning them, cos he'd be smart enough to know they could be a useful ace in the hole but that's it.

    • @VintageCars999
      @VintageCars999 Рік тому +3

      Negan had anger and power trip issues, which he allowed to control him when he beat up the guy in the bar. Of course when society collapses he no longer had to deal with the consequences. Of course he respected some people but others like trash. He let his power trip control him, after losing Lucille, he snapped into that dark person. The problem is that Negan morphed into a dictator, became a power/control hungry.
      Even if Rick didn't kill Negan's people, Negan still would have gained control of Rick's group. It was only when Negan lost his empire he built is when his humanity and moral compass snapped back into place.

    "Look at us. Here we are again. Yknow, last time we did this, you said I talked too much. Bad news is I got some stuff to get off my chest this time as well. But see this time, this time you best hope I never stop talking, because when I do, when i do, something very terrible is gonna happen to you.
    Y'know, I never killed a man before tonight? The truth. I came close once. See, there was this, this bar my wife and I used to go to. It was our, our favorite bar because it had our favorite jukebox. Favorite jukebox because, well, it had our favorite song.
    "You are so Beautiful" by the one and only Joe Cocker. Probably the greatest love ballet ever written. I'm sure you agree.
    See, there was, there was this guy. This guy, he had uh one of those voices you CAN'T unhear. And it was like, uh, my brain had been hijacked, and I can't think anymore. Anyway, he is talkin, and laughin, while the song is playing. Being completely obnoxious. So my beautiful wife Lucille, she gets up, and goes over to where he is, and politely asks him if he could keep it down, so she could hear her song. Well, let's just say he chose, poorly.
    So now I gotta get up, and I go over and tell him that he owes me 50 cents, so I can play the song again and he can shut the hell up. And my wife, can enjoy her song.
    Now this is the important part, and I REALLY want you to pay attention to this. Y'know when people get so angry, they say they see red? That shit, is actually true. When this asshole comes at me, all I see is red. It is like I am LOOKING at the world through blood. So I wail on him. I wail on him until he's not movin. And I reach down, I grab his wallet, and take out one dollar. And I play our song again. Twice.
    Turns out that this prick, has kids that go to the school where I teach gym at. Needless to say, the school is, unthrilled. I get fired, this guy sues me, I don't have a job, so now my WIFE has to pay his medical bills.
    So u-ih, the POINT of this is, there were consequences to me seeing red. Seeing red was a BAD thing then. I was a BAD man. THEN.
    See NOW, nobody's suing anybody, nobody's getting fired, hell, nobody's keeping score. See NOW, when I see red, it's just the question of what I am CAPABLE of. And well, man, I hate to break it to ya. See, I am startin to think that I am CAPABLE, of damn near anything. *sigh* So this, this is for NOT killing me."
