Nice moves👍😃 i use deeps for everything, its all part of my cunning plan so i don't get mistaken for a dwarf or a hobbit living in New Zealand 😂 but im convinced hobbits get those feet from hauling deeps full of honey😂 that was a nice looking deep frame btw id be stoked 👍😃
Great frames bro!! You pulled the genius stroke of moving those hives up there and look what a gamble it was! Well done!! Now you’ve got hours and hours of darned extraction!!! See you in the next video!! 😌🙏🤓🐝🧑🌾
70% of my supers have 9 frame spacers, all my other supers that are 10 frame are the boxes that get 10 new foundations installed that way they draw it clean and even. The following year I'll add the spacers to the boxes and rotate in new boxes with new foundations again
I still use shallows and us the spacers. Mainly because I bought 14 shallow supers with drawn comb they had to quit beekeeping. I think it’s so much easier for me that I added them to my mediums too. I’m only in my 3rd year and only have 41 hives. Love your videos may see you in Virginia in late October. Definitely will see you in January.
I have some shallows that were given to me that have the spacers in them. I guess the only thing that's kind of an issue, but not really a problem, is when you go to pry them up it's not as easy as when they're able to slide freely.
Great vid...as usual...I still have some shallows I started out with. Do you do anything special for comb honey, like use starter strips or do you just let them make it on their own?
1/3 were plugged out and so we put empty supers on and left what few supers didn't have much in them. I could get all the bees and super in one load anyways with the rig I have so 2 trips it is!
@@kamonreynolds I know different regions demand different practices. We are dry up here so we don’t gauge by cappings for MC. In fact, we despise cappings as it slows the honey house down. Although bringing in capped boxes fill the tank quicker lol

I have 150 hives, I am thinking of going migratory (like your WI trip,) how would I go about finding info on where and when to go? I sent them to the almonds with a friend last spring, it saved me after this terrible honey year in asheville.( good or bad adea?) almonds were paying $240.00 per hive last year.
The only way I know is to know people who do it. And even with that locations a few miles apart can make a huge difference in actual productivity, then you have to find yards. I have friends in this region so that helps me out but without them I would not have a beeyard to begin with.

Good to see your harvest next door. Can you imagine the harvest if we hadn't had the mass swarms this year?

I still use the built in spacers. So much more honey from 9 frames than 10. I only use shallows, never graduated to mediums.

I still have a lot of supers with spacers. Don't have much small hive beetle issue at elevation in NC mountains.

Love the phat frames! Got 7 to 9 pounds heavier in 9 frame over my 10’s. Ditched the spacers due to beetles, ants, and cleaning frame rests…
I love them plus sized also! Thanks for the feedback!

Looks like a pretty good haul
