Miele advertised with 'will last at least 20 years ) (commercials online) ..... after 10 years it died. used it 3 times a week...... .. the sales manager at their head quarters was a very agressive psycho....... with definitely no knowledge of his own product and international commercials. Never again a miele.
It's build to last 10,000 operating hours. So if you do long washes that all contributed to wear and tear. I do agree with you though, they claim 20 years on average but they don't provide any warranty longer to back those claims. For the price, you would hope they would warrant their product for at least 5 years. I spent $5000 on their washer and it broke in a month. They replaced it and the new one has been exactly the same. Metal sounds banging, unable to balance loads of clothes. I have had many many washers, normally change them every two years and the $700 Electrolux I had was faster, cleaned just as well and got the job done in half the time and went into spin without trouble. I also had a Samsung and it was so quiet you couldn't even hear it spinning at 1400rpm. Personally, I always wanted the Miele washer but after having two in less then six months and their highest model, my love affair for their products has ended. I have also had horrible experience with Asko clothes dryer. Replaced after 2 weeks and the replacement now two years has had 6 technician repairs. Doesn't fair well in convincing me that the two "best" brands in the industry are worth it when brands a quarter of their price consistently outperform.
