My dad, a protestant, passed away a couple of weeks ago and when i told my priest and deacon, i was comforted by their boundless compassion. My priest took me to the small church bookstore in our parish and showed me the akathist of St Varus and told me that they would both be saying private prayers for him and our family. Above all, we know that God knows each persons heart and one of my favorite things about being orthodox is knowing i can pray for the departed. For Mari Emmanuel, i have watched a few of his videos and the man's love for Christ is so apparent. Of course there are issues with some of his views, but i pray for him and that i could show the same compassion he is able to show for someone even after being so brutally attacked.

As an Oriental Orthodox Christian, I share many of the same points. Mari Emmanuel seems like a great man, and his zeal is recognizable, and we are praying for his recovery. However, we must be sure recognize what He believes about God, which is heretical and not Orthodox. Our clergy have been very strict to call him out in the past, because of his garb that resembles the Syrian Orthodox Monastic garb, which the Coptic Orthodox Church adopted in wear. He also has an Icon of St. Pope Kyrillos the Sixth on his altar, but he has the icon because of the miracles and appearances of this saint to many Assyrians in the peak of ISIS's persecution. So unfortunately, many, especially boomer generation Oriental Orthodox mistakenly have thought he was Coptic or Syriac, which is not the case at all.
