he was looking better, and moving better, than ever before, in his last shows, mainly because of a love for jiu jitsu and better physical health, which makes it even worse, because he had so much more to give. couldn't believe the news at the time, i felt like throwing up, still sad, but i am glad i can watch his shows again.

I speak Italian as a second language. My teacher was from Milan. I live in Tuscany. I can barely understand a third of what these pugliese are saying! Italy is far more diverse than I think many people give it credit for.
There's definitely nuance to how you go about saying these things. And mostly only with friends who are in it with you. I usually say something like, "Ho passato una serata pesante" or "Ho avuto una serata impegnativa." I had a heavy night or I had a demanding night. I'm not sure I would go with "Ho i postumi della sbornia" or "sono in sbornia". Or even post-sbornia. Mostly just because of HOW you approach telling someone you're hung over. I know you know all this... this is more for other folks to see the diversity of the language. Things don't always translate well, but Italian has a way of telling the story rather than being blunt about what you're saying. L'italiano mi sta a cuore!
magnificent documentary, just a small but important clarification: northern Italy has invested a mountain of money to try to develop the south, unfortunately the mafia has eaten it all and keeps the south exactly as it wants it, controllable. A bit like what happened when, after the fall of the Soviet Union, the Americans financed a lot of money to Russia (like the Marshall Plan for Italy after WW2) trying to make it enter the economic orbit of the West. But we all know how it ended... I can say it because I am the son of a parent from the north and one from the south, and in Italy it is difficult to find "superpartes" people because the nationalists of the north say that the south did not develop because they did not want to work, instead the nationalists of the south say that they did not develop because of the north that stole their money. When they manage to eliminate the mafia, southern Italy will become the most beautiful place in the world. As an Italian I am sad that in documentaries they never talk about the real MAFIA problem and Coppola should know a lot about this given his past films.
Heavens, Puglians seem to be an earthy lot! So different from we uptight Anglo Saxons. Had I had a choice I think I would have preferred to grow up there, but without the religion and tarantulas. I can see why Anthony was captivated by Asia, alas for him a free-spirited lady with a tarantula's bite.
Agento, the heatless thing took Toney from us. For me, its unfortunate that I came across the episode that signifies the exact time that his life became finite. Toney, you are free from the company of this cruel woman. I am so sorry that she took your beauty from us.
It's no wonder the Med has no fish left. You're meant to let the young ones go, so they can grow to maturity and make babies. It's not very complicated.
I live in Malta which is close to Sicily and I've been searching for that sea urchin paste that he used - no luck. Would it be called anything else? Sicily is so close, it should be easy to find here
Such dark overtones in this episode, which is very artistic, unless you know what Asia did to him mentally. It feels different watching it now after knowing that.
I will never believe that Anthony Bourdain took his own life. That is because of what I read about that possibility in his books. Loved the segment with Francis Ford Coppola.
He was also with Barack Obama in a small simple restaurant in Asia : The US security was crazy ! Haven’t you seen this episode ? The one with Iggy Pop was quite charming !
The trouble is, these are actors/dancers, and the woman in white is an actress pretending to have a nervous breakdown. Anthony Visits the Southern Part of Italy.. episode should be used as example for people studying to be film makers... documentaries... beautiful... but this is corrupt way.. there should be no study.. just work... like always... those who are adept and know how to do... got a job... no reason to study and then think they can able to do something...
Ford Coppola saying that the North oppressed the South is utter ignorance of Italian history. Italy is only just over 150 years old. If anything since then it has been the North that has kept the South on an even keel through taxation. To suggest otherwise is an insult to the North.
well, I live in the south and the history of the country confirms what Coppola said. Read the history of Taranto, it used to be one of the biggest cities in Italy and now is falling down because of politics

Of the people you don't know, Anthony is one of the most missed in the world. 😪
Grazie Tony per essere venuto in Italia! ❤
Grazie mille... RIP Tony, very much missed for his take on the world at large. People like this are few and far between these days, sadly.
Grazie Antony and Asia, a great episode gave me chills, that old woman was so funny, drinking wine like no tomorrow, then singing, hahahah
