I am confused... The car starts with the throttle body disconnected, and you changed the accelerator pedal? Makes no sense... unless you did test the pedal and found it faulty... Hello LM Auto Repairs. You make very nice videos! I have a question regarding my 2004 Opel Zafira 1.8 petrol. I have had the car in almost one year now. The car has gone about 208.000 km and i have only driven it for about a 1.000 km. I have changed engine oil and oil filter once. The car has never really run perfectly since I got the car. I have always had the impression that it runs to lean, and have always had bad fuel economy. From the beginning it had problems accelerating out from turns in third gear and almost stalled. After it got warmer it got better but the symptom was always there. Over time the car started loosing more power. While driving on the highway it struggled to keep a steady speed and started shaking around 100 km/h. After the first shaking the first codes appeared. P0170 - fuel trim bank and P0303 - cylinder 3 misfire detected. Sadly i kept driving the car until it got worse and then got codes P0301 and P0304. As a side note it has always had code P1530 - ac cut off relay, but I did not think it had anything to do with the engine performance. I suspected it was due to a bad MAF sensor so i looked up the part at autodoc website, and after typing in my cars registration number as a search method I bought the second cheapest MAF sensor which was from "Johns Autoteile GmbH & Co. KG". Before changing the MAF sensor the car was running very poorly and i suspected it was now in "limp mode" since i could not rev it above 2-3.000 rpm and only drive it very slow. But after changing the new MAF sensor I have started having trouble starting the car and have only been able to start it once with very poor idle and limited revs. before shutting down. The car cranks and will almost start but fails every time now. I have videos of it here: ua-cam.com/play/PLYUcU-L47l0AU_CSsXgR3RhFO4kZqES2z.html While fiddling with the car a lot I have noticed that some bolts have been missing and some hoses where not connected probably to the throttle body. It is like the previous owner have tried finding the error before me and did a sluggish job putting it back together. The battery is new and I do have spark. I can hear the fuel pump running and have changed the fuel filter. There is also fuel pressure on the fuel rail since fuel squirts out when pressing the schrader valve on the fuel line. I have cleaned and changed the throttle body to a new second hand one. I have also cleaned the little blow back hole in the throttle body. I can not seem to find any air leaks. Next to the air filter there is what i believe is a solenoid valve for the fuel tank? I have tried taking it of and can not blow air trough it in either direction. I am not sure if this is good or bad. I have not tried changing the cam- or crankshaft sensor yet. I have also checked that the ECU has ground connection. In a attempt to restart the ECU I have cut of the battery from the car and deleted all the codes. The only code i get now is P1530 - ac cut off relay. Do I need to reprogram the ECU for the newly installed MAF sensor in order to get the car to start again? Best regards Nikolo from Denmark.
Hi No... it might be some adaptations to reset for the new MAF... but not all engines require that... that said, that is your first mistake... aftermarket parts... Something like that buy genuine... or you might be chasing your own tail... Providing everything you said is accurate, I would check compression next... Hope that helps... Thank you for watching! 👍👍👍
Hi hope you wil be able to answer me ASAP just a question. I have a 1.4 essentia z14xep and it is a manual transm. So my question is what does the F stand for that shows on the cluster. Mine came on after doing the head gasket and we did start it and everything but we switched it off and when we tried again my motor does not want to crank and if we bypass the starter it cranks but wont start. Please help with some advice if you have.
I have someone that wil be coming out tomorrow to scan the car is there any other way i could see if it is the ecu problem or should i have to scan it for that.
Difficult to say... Best to try to scan the engine ecu, and see what is what... Otherwise it is all a guessing game... You can obviously check the basics... Fuses, ground points, connections etc... Specially everything that has been touched during the work you said it was done... 👍👍👍
Winners never quit! Well done as always Luis. I have a few questions please... You programmed the key first and thereafter the VIN. If you didn't program the VIN would the car still still be ok with an unmatched VIN? If the ECU was not already reset, what would the procedure have been? Can you share the name of the eBay seller, I really like the detailed description of the ECU they supplied. Thx for sharing :-)
The keys are not programmed in the ECU but in the cluster or BSI. The ECU only needs the pincode. VIN isn't importand for starting, only for futrure diagnose it can give troubles. If the ECU need to be 'virgin' you need to read eeprom/flash of the ECU (on the bench) and clear it. There are files out there if you search (Digital Kaos forum are great for that kind of info).

Hi and firstly thanks alot for the videos. I really enjoy the videos and learning about car electronics but the problem I have is whoever I phone in the ecu repair world dont want to give any information out to the general public, what I want to learn how to do is read ecu chips off the car, im sure ive seen you remove chips from ecu and put them on a piece of equipment and read the information from the chip, so my question is what is the name of the chip reading equipment and where would I find it to buy? Thanks very much and I would really appreciate your knowledge. Cheers Andy
There is loads of different ones out there... And there is not such thing as one fits all... What I mean is, you will have to invest in different tools to read different chips... X-prog is one, Xhorse another one... just Google it.... Hope that helps... Thank you for watching and for your comment!
Not the software if it is what you mean... Holds the diagnostic software obviously... to be able to diagnose and program/ code certain functions... 👍👍👍

In my entire life I have never had a new car, I have only had second hand cars. When going to see a car if I see that the wiring has been messed with I just walk away. Even though I'm quite good with electrical and electronic systems I do not have the time to unravel someone else's feck-ups!
I don't blame you...lol

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Corsa C 2005 petrol ,car will start with the throttle body disconnected , when I reconnect it it will not start and just clicks rapidly ,changed out the accelerator peddle but still the same , also not able to communicate via a OBD port ? any help would be great thank you great watching you working !
I am confused...
The car starts with the throttle body disconnected, and you changed the accelerator pedal?
Makes no sense... unless you did test the pedal and found it faulty...
Have you done any other tests?
Check comm lines to the ecu etc...
Power and grounds... although if the car starts might not be that...
Thank you for watching!
👍👍👍
Watch all you videos never see a bad one yet. Great patience and knowledge what you don't know you find out. Can you recommend a good scanner for vauxhall Astra J. D.I.Y Thanks
Op-com still not too bad for the J... though a bit more limited...
But still good to read and erase codes, etc...

13:20 sometimes is better to send the f car back and tell the owner to tow it to the Butcher to make it back as it was. And maybe bring it back, maybe.

I should do that... really should...

Oh very helpful video excellent work👍
Any chance you could fix mine ??
I have Corsa Sxi 1.2 2014, all fine until the other day when it wouldn’t start, no lights on the dash, nothing !
I know it’s not a flat battery as it wouldn’t jump start.
The next day it started and all worked perfectly 🤷🏼♂️
From then the speedo, rev counter, fuel gauge and indicators lights on the instrument cluster haven’t been working properly and have an F by the mileage! Now they have stopped working completely and the car won’t start.
Any idea ?
Thanks.
Is an automatic?
👍👍👍
No it’s a manual

Have you scanned the car?
I had the same issue, changed the ecu because the old one was dead and not readable and now i get the code p1614 and the car doesn’t crank at all and the check light still blinking also after programming, i would mention that when programming the immobilizer function , it has no response at all even if i click this times and times
you are a genius. thanks for sharing with us.

I have videos of it here: ua-cam.com/play/PLYUcU-L47l0AU_CSsXgR3RhFO4kZqES2z.html
While fiddling with the car a lot I have noticed that some bolts have been missing and some hoses where not connected probably to the throttle body.
Hi
No... it might be some adaptations to reset for the new MAF... but not all engines require that... that said, that is your first mistake... aftermarket parts...
Something like that buy genuine... or you might be chasing your own tail...
Providing everything you said is accurate, I would check compression next...
Hope that helps...
Thank you for watching!

hi, why map sensor stay to 101 kpa, i have a problem with same corsa but z12xep and too rich at idle
Great job as always, super video...

Those ECM connector are so easy to unplug. Just press the safety clip and then lift the lever to allow the rail to slide.

49:00 this car has a terminal chain and bad map sensor. 101 kpa with engine running? Maybe massive air leak look at the low oxygen sensors 1&2.

Indicates a fault...
Have you scanned the car?
Any codes on the engine ecu?
👍👍👍
I have someone that wil be coming out tomorrow to scan the car is there any other way i could see if it is the ecu problem or should i have to scan it for that.
Difficult to say...
Best to try to scan the engine ecu, and see what is what...
Otherwise it is all a guessing game...
You can obviously check the basics...
Fuses, ground points, connections etc...
Specially everything that has been touched during the work you said it was done...
👍👍👍
Good work

I do my best...

@@PandaBero83
Thanks Bero!
Bero B ecu code can be read on car also, not only bench.
Hi I have a no start issue with flashing immobiliser light on corsa d.with opcom I got these codes wrong transponder key and wrong bcm environment.also I have no coms with the ipc or sdm.i checked each plug and I am getting power so my question is are the ipc and sdm ran back to the bcm and the bcm is causing opcom to not have çoms with ipc and sdm
Without checking diagrams is difficult to say... by I believe it does... as the BCM works as the gateway...

Were do I take my car it's not. Starting. No spark switched off while travelling on freeway
Brilliant video. The Maxisys actually holds the program for the ecu?
Not the software if it is what you mean...
Holds the diagnostic software obviously... to be able to diagnose and program/ code certain functions...
