Does it really matter, though, as long as the Devil keeps receiving new souls? You could argue it's actually a mutually beneficial relationship - Medic gets to stay alive and out of Hell as long as he keeps obtaining more souls to sell to the Devil.

I swear his voice never changed. All of the other actors sound great, but Robin sounds exactly the same as he used too. It might also be down to mic quality as well though.

Also don’t forge that went he comes back to life that he does indeed have that pen, a pen that he did not have when he died. So of the afterlives we see, his seems to be the factual one for the universe, Mundy’s (Sniper’s) also likely is. Scout’s? Highly doubtful.

the best part about this is that since this sets a precedent of giving one soul for fifty years on earth so long as satan does not hold more than 50% of Medic's souls, Medic could just graft more souls onto himself, thus granting him eternal life as long as he gets grafts another soul to himself within those fifty years. Throw in a few more soul trades for rejuvenation (if the medic doesn't just figure rejuvenation out himself) and he could theoretically live forever, and live well at that.
I had a theory that Medic made a deal with the Devil for eternal life in the past. He would be much older than modern medicine practices, that's why his medicine can seem to be somewhat... Outdated
Well the Devil would probably change the contract for like more souls for less time seeing as he Is the one with the contracts and the Medic doesnt seemingly have a copy on himself, but Medic isnt going to die anytime soon

This 100% is just the first step in Medic's plan. While he is a crazed megalomaniac of a doctor, he is still a doctor and he has never seemed too keen on actually harming anyone on his team. His experiments are always "safe" and often times even benefitial, and any screwups he is clever enough to fix on the fly. So after like 6 years of keeping these idiots alive and healthy, I doubt he would wanna throw all that hard work away. Maybe they all end up immortal or something.xD

Oh, this comic is actually brilliant on so many levels, and it gets moreso if you've played TF2 for long enough. Going by the Devil's reactions, he didn't anticipate Medic going so far as to graft more souls into him. This particular contract is most likely why the Medic has his absurd ability to do whatever he wants in the field of medicine and get away with it. See: Meet the Medic where he tells Heavy the time where he removed a man's skeleton for kicks, but the patient lived. Now, this is just headcanon, but going off of Medic's voice lines when he sees Mersamus use magic 'Oh, I MUST learn how to do THAT,' it's likely that the Medic didn't know how to graft souls to himself originally. Instead, he was inspired to learn how once he was exposed to enough of Halloween's perpetual nonsense and could see the value magic would add to his already supernaturally effective medical talents. Further worsened by the fact that a good number of Halloween maps around that time introduced a simple form of magic that the mercs can use. Fast forward a bit and it's quite likely that somewhere along the line, the Medic expanded his repertoire of medical skills to include the metaphysical. Pushing the boundaries of what he could accomplish, and likely also hitting insane new lows that not even the Devil himself could fathom.
I can’t help but keep coming back to this. The sound effects, the music, the editing, THE VOICE ACTING! Like it’s all so well done, like there was no real need to do all of this but it was done anyway and it’s truly beautiful

I like the subtle implication that Medic grafted 8 other souls to himself, which coincides with the 8 other mercs. Meaning he likely stole the other 8 mercs souls without their knowledge.
What makes this better is that at least two of the mercs canonically are going to Heaven. Meaning at least two of the other Eight are already locked down and unable to be sold.
Because Ludwig and the Devil are voiced by Robin Atkin Downes. It's funny to hear the voice of the Medic in the voice of the Devil. This is ironically perfect for the fact that the medic is indeed a monster, but devilishly charming, in the end he deceived the Devil himself!
The ultimate plot twist? The mercs can Respawn. Whats stopping Medic from doing it over and over and over again? He could be immortal. WITHOUT Australium.
Surgically implanting more after the fact aside, we also must remember that Scout and Sniper's souls are already going to Heaven, so even if the Devil got Medic before he could get more inside him, he will always be two people short on completing the debt
