- From my personal collection of KSAN live broadcasts this features the Bob Welch era Fleetwood Mac which I think was a far better band than the Lindsay Buckingham Stevie Nicks era even though they got rich selling records to the 18 and under crowd.Future Games,Bare Trees, Penguin,Mystery To Me,Heroes Are Hard To Find are all superior to Rumours. This was recorded at the Record Plant in Sausalito on KSAN-FM 12/15/74.
Song List:Green Manalishi // Angel // Spare Me A Little // Sentimental Lady with false start // Future Games // Bermuda Triangle // Why // Believe Me // Black Magic Woman/Oh Well // instrumental with band introduction // Rattlesnake Shake // Hypnotized
The opener Green Manalishi ! What a great version ! Bob Welch was outstanding on the guitar.
Thanks to Bob Welch, Fleetwood Mac was able to continue on through their lean years.
You mean their best years
They rewarded him handsomely by pretending he didn't exist during the hall of fame induction.
I have just about everything they did, except Rumors. My personal favorite Future Games takes me back to my youth.
I had never heard anything of this period of the band, until the UA-cam algorithm suddenly suggested hypnotised. Without doubt, this is now my favourite incarnation of the group.
I'd been listening (on UA-cam) to the "Buckingham Nicks" album, "Fleetwood Mac", and "Rumours" almost nonstop the last few days - today BN played in the background, finished, random stuff played, then UA-cam played THIS. It's cold and grey outside while I sort thru yesteryear's papers and you said it - this is now my favorite incarnation of the group. So glad this session and program found me!
They're the best.
Don't miss Bare Trees or Mystery to Me.
Bob Welch was and still is disgracefully underrated.
Absolutely. Saw them twice back in this period and it was, IMO, the best iteration of the band. Fantastic and FUN.
Black Book!

Mystery to me kicked my ass in 1981, lovely...
Bob Weston, great guitar.
My opinion of Mick Fleetwood dropped into the cellar when he decided to leave Bob Welch and Bob Weston out of their HoF induction. I have heard tell that it really hurt Bob Welch bad. He deserved a better fate.
Yes, absolutely...
Lately? Ditto.
This music slowly swept away to the big machine of the music industry. I remember hearing this on an underground station on the FM dial, Great memories. Always loved the older stuff
Bob Welch was a friend of mine, and yes, he deserved to be included in the induction. Weston? Not so much. He got caught having an affair with Mick's wife. I can see why he might have been ignored. Yeah, it's petty and vindictive, but that's also human nature at work.
Absolutely that was low down bob was the creative force behind the band for just about three years after danny kirwan left
Bob' s guitar work was SO WARM.......that it could melt the ice in the arctic...No one has had a sound quite like him that I can think of..The old guitar player for Jethro Tull comes to mind......in the same sense..warm and fuzzy as a cat.......I wonder if they were friends....He is one of my biggest influences and inspirations as I take up the guitar once again in my life....at 61 yrs ....not playing for about 40 yrs......he really inspired me to start up again........I LOVE ALL HIS STUFF...
Yes, Peter left his mark, it's worth tracking down. Because he had a story and he could tell it, turn it into music, even if we didn't understand it. You'd do well to move the guitar again.
Tull guitarist martin barre
Yes. Wonderful tone and great solo.
Christine’s playing adds so much depth to their sound.
Original JT guitarist was Mick Abrahams.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mick_Abrahams
R.I.P. Bob Welch.
Bermuda triangle such a brilliant song..
And that version of Angel here was more than brilliant
This is eerily magical. What were people worrying about as they listened to this incredible performance... Are we just as silly to worry? But really. Totally amazing music. Thank you Bob. God thank you for him, and Christine. Blessed souls
I am a late bloomer for Bob Welch, and these FM years. I feel ashamed for missing out on such great talent for SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many years. I have seen light! Thanks for sharing.
You should listen to his solo work…especially French Kiss
Are you sure you put enuf Os in the word so? I'm thinking 🤔 you outta post another comment with at least two full lines of Os in the word so for proper emphasis.Otherwise some people might miss your point.
Paris, too. Big Towne 2061.
Bob Welch was a stellar talent. He wrote great songs. Sentimental lady is my fav.
Damn I dig the Kirwan/Welch era so much
Kirwan is not in this lineup.
from my understanding danny and bob didn't get along... but danny's chant is amazing
@@superman9772 Danny didn't get along with anyone in the band by the time he was fired. He was an alcoholic, was starting to have mental issues and his behavior on-stage was becoming a tremendous liability to the band. He had talent to burn as a guitarist and songwriter, but he was turning into an impossible bandmate.
Well, there's a lot to DIG!
I'll dispense with any who-is-the-best FM guitarist opinions, and simply say that I feel Bob Welch plays and sings with a certain vibe that takes me back to better place, when FM album rock was new, and practically "underground music". When I hear songs like this, I imagine listening through foam covered speakers, with the gentle blue glow of the receiver FM dial lighting the darkness. I think I would say the same for Christine, who sings so beautifully. They both wrote really nice songs as well..the soul of the band.
If you like Fleetwood Mac, and if you're here you probably due, Heroes Are Hard to Find is worth your while. Criminally Underrated and amazing record.
Bob Welch, Petetr Green Danny Kirwan, Bob Weston, the players around McVie, Christy and Mick. Those years advaned the FM sound that opened the door for the next incarnation of FM. Seems to me Bob Welch back then had the talent to keep them on the radio. RIP Bob. Sagge the Vet.
You forgot an important member that was in Fleetwood Mac. Jeremy Spencer.
@@carlandersonlll6861 on Jeremy: But already out of it around mid February 1971(with only the '70 Kiln House album out and a few flanking extra new singles, after Peter Green had become disfunctional). After March '71 there were still several Peter Green written pieces being played on stage, up till in December '74 even. Danny Kirwan was a very influential writing and guitar frontman member up thru early days of September '72, quite to be noticed on Future Games and Bare Trees albums of '71/'72. B. Weston was only a guitarist/co-writing bandmember from early final Q.of 1972 till into the final Q.of 1973, when Mick told him to better leave.
The Bob Welch era is my fav. too - thanks for uploading this!
Bob was one of my dearest friends... I miss his presence...
Terry Nails That is cool that you knew him. Perhaps you can answer a question for me. How did he come to be in one of the pictures in the Tusk liner notes? He must have been on decent terms with the band. Not that that comes as a surprise to me. Most people that follow his time in the band think Mick owed him more than he owed Bob.
Brian Morrison I think they had great affection for Bob Welsh. He was sorta a transition player it's hard to replace Peter Green. I also think this era FM is better than the commercial stuff except a few tunes by Christine and Lindsey.I'll take Christine 10 days out of 10.
Robert Lane Ditto
+Terry Nails yes Bob Welch was great I enjoy his music a lot!!!
Yes he was..!
This is a great band!!! Thanks for sharing this bit of radio history with us. B. Welch sure wrote some genius music during this period. RIP
Hard to believe "Spare Me a Little" was not a hit. I sort of wish Bob Welch had stayed with FM for a couple more years it would have been interesting to have him in the mix.
Absolutely! I'd love to hear what Rumours would have sounded like with Bob Welch! Wow! But of course Rumours is one of those perfect records, so....
I saw the More or less original Fleetwood Mac at Filmore East in 1969 along with King Crimson and Joe Cocker (RIP). They tore the place up, especially Peter Green. A year later they returned minus Peter Green and with Christine Perfect. They were good but definitely missed Peter Green's dynamic guitar. I missed out on a lot of the Bob Welch era band but have rediscovered them via UA-cam. It's a shame that Bob never received credit for all the wonderful music he made with them and that he bridged the era between two wonderful incarnations of one of rock's most enduring and successful groups, musically and commercially. He lives on in wonderful moments captured on tape like this.
I'll go even further and say BOB WELCH was the best songwriter they ever had.
Bob is fantastic, and I love that he's the sole guitarist in this configuration, and more than rises to the occasion. Triple threat (writing/playing/singing), monumental talent. RIP Bob -- your art has a special vibe, and lives on.
@@dackmont Yes, but the group lost something when guitarist Bob Weston was kicked out. He was excellent and gave the group a real first-class bluesy sound. I don't think Welch was as good, which is why I think Weston did most of the heavy guitar work when he was in the band. A lot of Welch's songs are a bit too jam-bandy for my taste, though some are also excellent.
@@richardernsberger5692 I'm a big Bob Weston fan too! Love that Hendrixy vibe he brings. Are there any live recordings of him playing with the band besides that Midnight Special appearance?
I just discovered this! I always thought Bob Welch's vocals on the Peter Green stuff was was almost as good as Green's. When he left and those other two stepped in it was the end of a great band imho.
Thanks for this, much appreciated. Christine's voice is wonderful.
I remember hearing this show on the air. Bob Welch era my favorite by far.
Christine at the keys and aching vocals.....perfect.
Wow, Bob brought a nice smooth sound to FM. Amazing musician and sorely missed.
This version of the band was SUPERB. Thanks for posting
Future Games is such a great song! Love them in that era... Thanks!
I love "Why". Such a great song!
God yes -
I was always pretty sure that Bob Weston was responsible for the slide work on the intro and I guess I'd always assumed that the solo and outro were his too.
Welch's gorgeous fretwork here has cast doubt on that for me from here on.
I really loved the Mac with Bob Welch,Christine, and Danny Kirwan! The records were very interesting, on many levels, and the melodies beautiful. I don't want to knock the supergroup they became later, but I bought that 1st FM record with Buckingham/Nicks, and in a month sold it to my neighbor, as it just didn't do anything for me!
I agree! This by far my fave era of the band. Thanks!
I am listening along and keep reading more and more comments, so awesome to see everyone on the same page here. Bob is superb, this IS the best Mac era and this recording is excellent, thank you for posting , so so good!!
Love to hear a live Sands of Time of this quality....
BTW, the band sounds great here and I'm impressed with Welch's lead guitar work. Thanks for posting.
Great band in every stage it went through. All were original and influential in their own way.
Absolutely
I totally agree with your assessment of it being better pre Buckingham-Nicks. I was fortunate enough to see them twice as got hooked on the Sands of Time in 9th grade. I've won bets and concert tix knowing it was Mac and Peter Green who did Black Magic Woman originally and Carlos copied it note for note, conga for conga. Thanks for sharing this amazing set with us. Really appreciate.
Totally like this show, Bob Welch is intricate and melodic. Thank you for the upload, this is a relic.
Highway_Stratocaster Bob could play. RIP big guy.
+Highway_Stratocaster ...yes, but the lead guitarist is Bob Welch, as far as I know..
+chris bolei ...actually, he may have been fired by this time , for sleeping with Mick's wife.
No, that was Bob Weston.
And when did Bob Welch pass away? Was he still alive a year ago?
Thanks for posting this. FM has had a long and varied road to survival. Though sometimes their own worst enemy, they did make consistently good music. Future Games is a classic that should be in any music fans collection. Bob is really missed as is Danny Kirwan. What they brought was savory, eclectic and still very playable today.
We have to appreciate that BOB WELCH is , in this group of 4 is the "Bruce Springsteen of the Group" By that I mean he is the leader of the band, the spokesperson, Both the rythym and lead guitarist, the song writer, and that is called STRESS. A great drummer and bass, backing him with some nice McVeigh sultry singing. BUT WITH BOB WEELCH, the songs all rich with melody. IOf a rocker and his date who liked top 40 stuff, each woul;d be happy. But it is very clear, HE WAS THE MAN,, did he get the respect he deserved? Dear Hall of Famers.. without the Bob Welch years, their record logeivity may have been a moot point- BAND DIED when PETER GREEN slipped away. He is telling stories, then does a nice long guitar piece, and wraps Bermuda up nicely, THANK YOU VAMP_, for taking the narrow path...
Thank You. I could listen to Bob and Christine all day
I saw them around that time
What a kickass band, Bob Welch was just killing it on stage. We went out and bought their albums the next day.
I can't tell you how bummed we were when he quit the band and those interlopers Buckingham/Nick's showed up
RIP Christine. Fly on!!!
Thank you for this recording. It is also my favorite (dad rock) era of the band. These albums with Welch, along with Kiln House are the only Mac albums I can listen to from start to finish. I don't think Buckingham/Nicks era was awful, but they can be a bit too much to me (and I can't bare to listen to anything past Tusk).
Agree. I return to the Fut. Games-Bare Trees-Mystery era records repeatedly and also Then Play On. The 1rst 2 buck Nicks LPs had songs that really grabbed me, but after a few listens seemed obvious and lacking subtlety, and the passion seemed a little over the top. They were well-produced, had jazz changes in the guitar parts, and were worth listening to, but only so many times.
@@granthurlburt4062 Same with me, got this show off Napster a long time ago labeled fleetwood mac with tommy bolin ofcourse its not tommy but it was one of my favorites live shows from that era but lost it about 10 years ago, but thanks to vampirrecs i can now listen to this gem again thanks =)
BOB WELCH...R.I.P.
This is just absolutely fantastic! Rattlesnake Shake is madness. To me the best I've listen to from FM 'till now. That bass sounds like in no other FM song. The other instrument I find amazing besides the guitar in that instrumental part I 'm not sure if it's the sinthesizer or the electric piano, but it's really overwhelming.
But to say that BW era was better than the BN era I don't agree. All FM reencarnations have their best and worst, that's what makes this band so interesting and unique. The Welch era is the one I'm digging up now. It's a kind of progressive rock and a natural evolution of the band at that time, then they turned into Pop like other PR bands also did, that's normal and what the BN era brought us is just unforgettable.
A special note to Christine McVie since she went trough all those eras and wrote lyrics, music and played and sang in all of them. Great!!!
RIP Bob Welch and thank you!!!!
Wonderful music! Thanks for posting this wonderful live broadcast from Fleetwood Mac which features the great but underrated Bob Welch. This was also a wonderful FM line up!
fucking amazing, love bob welch, very underrated, great songwriter , singer & very melodic guitar player... best line up for me. still don't understand why he left the band...much better than Buckingham and so on...love when he sang along with Christine...
The vocals on the albums FB & Bare Trees, and those melodic guitar solos... Whoa.
This is not a bad version of Green Manalishi...only one guitar...remember that this song was written when they had three guitarists. This is Bob Welch only doing justice to this song...go Bob!!! And of course go everyone else in fleetwood mac.
Two guitars: Bob Weston also played on this track but agree that it's a very creditable version.
Okay, Bob Weston is not mentioned at any point but I do hear a second guitar on Green Manalishi.
Jeremy Spencer was not in the recording studio when green manalishi was being recorded! Therefore it had only 2 guitarist! Peter Green and Danny Kirwan!
Cool. McVie's bass comes out here; kind of wish Welch laid off the 'preaching', but these songs are great. I like that paradoxically wild but disciplined playing that Fleetwood Mac brought forth through all of their lineups, especially in the blues rock psychedelic era of the late 60's- early 70's. Christine McVie's voice and keyboards add depth, while the drum bass bottom once again go way down there to the Bermuda Triangle, as Bob points out, riffing his way to the triangle's fibonacci source, as traced on the arc of a sea shell, a conch on the beach. But i must say that the song doesn't get bogged down, as the band soldiers on. An interesting KSAN broadcast. Man do i miss those days, when musical diversity had a home with beautiful melodies. I've never heard this live version of "Why", but have always loved the Mystery To Me album version. This live version brings out what i love about Fleetwood Mac. The band is tight here. And that is what happens with the freedom to explore musical ideas. to me it is inspiring to hear the iconic song by Peter Green, "Black Magic Woman." A compelling song; and an incredible transition into, "Oh Well". And i totally dig it, but guess what? "What?" "I miss Danny Kirwan here, and am reminded of the transition that has occurred, some of which is in our own lifetimes, between Here and There and back again. It's one way i keep track of the historic record, particularly in music. I'm totally amazed by Christine's improv in the band intro, and Bob picking up on it and proceeding...to the other icon: "Rattle Snake Shake." I must report that this is a Righteous Version.
This needs to be released on CD
Please
@@blessingentertainment5334 it's being release in a new boxed set.
New boxed set being released will include this concert. Rolling stone just reported on this morning.
I have this on vinyl that I bought in Germany a couple of years ago.
I still find it sad that Bob Welsh got snubbed for the R&R HOF induction. Because of him, the group stayed together after Green, Kirwin, and Spencer. Mick said it himself in his book that Bob Welsh saved Fleetwood Mac. Some great music from this era of FM. Must of been Bob's last performance because Buckingham/Nicks joined on New Years Eve 1974.
It's still unclear who was behind keeping Bob Welch out of the Rock Hall.
Right after this was recorded with in days of it, is when Buckingham/Nicks we’re asked to join and the deal made. Fleetwood Mac has had many changes and continues to change and evolve, clearly in every era and in personal lives and Friendship…Fleetwood Max has staying power
Long live Bobs music....GREAT guitar......he carries this concert, the way he carried Mac for several incredible albums.
This is one of my favorite eras of the Mac. Spare Me A Little, great song...The Green Manalishi...Thank you for this, and BTW I agree with your sentiments & even think the self titled album is better than Rumors :-)
Different eras, Different styles.. Different links in the chain. Each step in the evolution of the band was a matter of preservation. Band members came and went for different reasons, Every configuration has its own character. Personal preference doesn't negate the high standards Fleetwood Mac has consistently maintained as it navigated and morphed its way through forty-something years of existence.
I love every part of its diversity - the Blues era,the middle transitional period with Bob Welch, the commercially successful era of Buckingham Nicks, ,and the wayward years with Billy Burnette,Rick Vito Bekka Bramlet...and bizarrely Dave Mason! All of it represents the unique aspects of Fleetwood Mac, the common factor being its namesake members Mick Fleetwood and John McVie.
+Zenbone65 You nailed it, bro!!!!!!!!! Should give it a recent listen, but the "Dave Mason" era should be erased from existance - the only boo-boo Mick made so far.
+Richard Hallin Thanks. I can't dispute that during the so-called "Mason" era the band was in a somewhat vulnerable flux. But the Time album has its merits, especially Christine's songs. The tour was another matter. The low point being them, sans Christine, performing at amusement parks, packaged with Pat Benatar and REO Speedwagon. Gotta give credit to Mick for persevering through such dicey circumstances. The passing Time era is significant because it kept the heart of the band beating until it found its legs again.
+Richard Hallin I'm not really familiar with that era's production. I guess i'll have to give it a listen. I've always considered Dave Mason a great musician. What was the issue?
Zenbone65 yes sir on la note of the music and la industry
Huge FM fan up till Buckingham-Nicks. In these comments I notice Danny Kirwan consistently being left out. He not only helped form FM's feel & direction, he added consistency to the band's sound, feel & subject matter through Bare Trees. A clear watershed moment came with his encouragement of the release of Albatross, which was built in many ways on the synergy between he & Peter Green.
Bob always did this number Green Manilishi justice. I love that we have a live version of Angel posted.
These tapes are wonderful playlist. I plan to copy your post as a playlist to listen to when online, excellent thanks for sharing this.
Green Manilishi is in Bob's wheelhouse. Definitely lined up well with his own mystical lyrical bent. I hear more resignation than terror in his performance, but it's all good.
great stuff, I love fleetwood from 68 ,to 74 the most, and will always miss bob
This is great, great music. Thanks so much for sharing.
This is awesome !! Excellent audio quality ! Thanks !
yes.. Welch certainly had a cool sound for this Fleetwood Mac....in fact I would venture to guess that hypnotized overtones and theme could be found in Rhiannon...which came after....maybe stevie was inspired by hypnotized....Bob Welch was so underrated...great writer singer and player......his solo album French kiss is a great classic ...
Bob borrowed from Peter and Danny.....the reverb thing...especially on the instrumentals... Bob's Mac is my favorite...
Also quite excellent is Welch's live album.
@@stephengorin2685 the japanese live registration album, you mean of Bob's later period?
This is a great recording! Awesome guitar work! I have to agree musically this is better than Buckingham Nicks Fleetwood Mac. Thanks for sharing.
I happened to be in Palo Alto around this time. Would love to have seen them live. Thank you very much for sharing this classic tape.
My friend and I used to park up in the Oakland hills and listen to all the great live performances on FM Radio back then. This was one of our favorites. Bob Welch does such an incredible job. What a guitarist 🎸 so beautiful.
Fleetwood Mac in one of their great incarnations.
Thanks to the band and KSAN and the Record Plant for all the great music 🎶
Really enjoyed this. Thanks for posting!
Found this after watching the '73 Midnight Special clips that featured Weston's work. Seems like Welch comes close to that on his own toward the end of Angel. Great listen! Thanks for posting.
A Stunning Broadcast …Sooo Nice to hear Bob really stretching out on that guitar.
awesome show thanks for posting this. like all band era's but the welch ones are tragically underated and almost forgotten the best of both worlds!!!
Thanks for posting this vintage, legendary music!!!
This is totally awesome; been hitting this and everything from inception of The Mac until Heroes. Funky, groovin and tight - excellent version of Angel.
I agree, and remember recording this off KSAN Those were really special days and we knew at the time I might add. KMPX was what my older sister turned me on to back then before ad men realized long hairs had expendable income too! Pacific Stereo and waterbed ads read by the normal speaking dj's that played real tunes...
Thanks for posting, this is great!
Completely agree, this was the best era of the band.
This is fantastic!!!! Thank you. This sound is just so perfect. You just stop and KNOW it's Bob and the Mac. aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
thanks for posting this gem!
Great stuff, thanks for putting it up
...they say there's a place down in Mexico, where a man can fly over mountains and hills. He don't need an airplane, or some kind of engine, and he never will.
of course the Bob Welch's Fleetwood Mac era my Favorite!!! the poppy stuff is for the kiddies..Is stuff for commercial radio..The early Mac's the best!!!
+Hughe M. I prefer the early stuff the best (Peter Green era) but I love the Bob Welch era too.
+Peter Green is by far the best guitarist No argument with me Bro!!
+Hughe M. Peter Green was great, but its a matter of taste. i prefer bob welch's playing . i prefer his singing and songwriting too. he proved his worth when he went solo. french kiss went platinum in 7 countries. i dont believe peter green or any of the other fleetwood alumni did that on their own. bob was the most versatile songwriter they ever had. its all there.
+Alan Lloyd I love them both, they made great music!
If the great songs of Nicks and Buckingham are for 'kiddies' I'm glad I'm still a kid!!
@vampirrecs Thank you for sharing this gem from your collection. It found me! Stands the test of time!!
The finest vid on YT. 2nd place is so far behind I can't even tell who it is. And buddy, I've seen millions! Lord, this Future Games is....indescribable.
Wow I had this on a bootleg album back in "77" and always loved the Bob Welch version of FM. Thanks for posting!
Me too. Still have that bootleg LP.
Love this! Thanks Vampire! (And I don't agree with you regarding best era, but appreciate anyone who makes a similar claim - the nerdy guitar player is one of my heroes - and we know about those.)
The Heroes tour ended on 12/5/74, so this must be Bob's final recording/appearance with FM.
Officially yes. I read that he opened for them a number of times in 1975 and came up on occasion to perform Hypnotized with Mick, John, Christine, Lindsey and Stevie. Also the lineup for his solo recording of Sentimental Lady consisted entirely of FM members (Fleetwood, C.McVie, Buckingham, Welch).
If this was recorded on Dec 15th 1974, it would have been within 1 or 2 weeks of him leaving the band as he was out by the end of '74. RIP.
Awesome! Thanks for posting!
Future Games and Kiln House by far the best Fleetwood Mac LPs. Loved Danny K.!
I remember KSAN back all those years ago when I lived in the Bay area. Great station ! Bob Welch was a great addition to Fleetwood Mac.
I taped this on reel to reel and still have it. KSAN live broadcasts were awesome. And I agree. Lindsay Buckingham and Stevie Nicks were the end of Fleetwood Mac. At least Christine McVie came back.
The end of FM Mac? The true FM ended after Green left, after that it was just different bands with the same name. All incarnations had some great songs- some just more than others.
@@bobshook3544 Yes, but to me, this is second best. Still excellent music and not all LA crud.
The Buckingham-Nicks era was what it took for the Mac to finally become superstars. There will always be argument about which era yeilded the best music - Peter Green's blues eara (my favorite) - the Bob Welch transitional era - or the Buckingham-Nicks pop success era. All in all, it's an amazing journey, and anyone into the Mac in whatever incarnation should check out the other incarnatons. This particular recording shows what a reliable force Bob Welch was, but his role in the band must have been getting to him because he left not long afterwards. RIP Bob Welch, Peter Green, Christine McVie, Danny Kirwan, and the other forgotten Bob, Bob Weston.
Don't be mad Be Glad you found the answer to truths of times and people I deal with Daily ...builds character still I love ❤ 😍 youtoo
THANK YOU !! Bob Welch was terrific.
First heard this lineup when UA-cam reccomended the 1973 midnight special. This lineup along with Danny Kirwan is my favorite incarnation of Fleetwood Mac. Although, the Behind the Mask lineup is pretty good too.
I saw this four member incarnation several times. RIP Bob, your soul is missed.
Bob was the Cyrano De Bergerac of Rock
Fab version of Why.
John and Bob Welsh and Peter Green but I still say the heart and soul the band is Christine... anyway I love them growing up and I still love them today their music is forever
What you say about all of those FM albums is so true. Buckingham was not the songwriter Welch is. Nor was Buckingham a better guitarist than any former FM guitarist, who all had a unique and memorable sound.
Essa fase do Fleetwwod Mac não é taõ conhecida no Brasil.......só com a chegada da dupla Buckingham/Nicks é que elesse tornaram bem conhecidos....mas tem seu valor como pudemos ouvir.....obrigado por postar!
YOU SHOW THEM BOB!!! SHOW THEM!! THAT YOU M ADE THEIR SOUND WHEN YOU WERE WITH THEM. THIS IS HARD ROCKY, POPPY, HOOKY< KEY CHANGY< ALL OF IT THE GOODIES, WHEN PEOPLE SAY 'rock on' this is what is meant. My rule, if I cannot stop snappin, it is ROCK.. GREAT DRUMMIN
Good show! Probably the last show FM did with Bob Welch. A couple of weeks later, Mick invited Lindsey to join. He said, "My girlfriend Stevie comes with the package or no go." Mick said, "Okay, you're both in." And the rest is history (since 1975).
A story that had absolutely nothing to do with Peter. But the best usually have to take the more difficult path. Does that tell us anything?
This performance was just about the time Bob Welch was getting ready to leave the band, since Lindsey Buckingham & Stevie Nicks officially joined Fleetwood Mac on New Year's Eve, 1974.
Bob's last concert with Fleetwood Mac.
Gentle wind's always ❤ around this place reach out I'm always looking forward to the future 😀 don't worry 😉 I'll be alive I suppose for some time you won't be forgotten believe me Mr. You are Loved I'm working on myself forevermore and longing to help as meny as possible
