Mac's best album. Don't care that Buckingham and Nicks, or even Peter Green for that matter, are not on it. It has aged like fine wine. Endlessly listenable. Look up underrated in the dictionary and you'll see a pic of the album cover.

Thank you so much for posting. This is my favorite FM album. It does give me chills, even now. The lead off song is my favorite on the LP. It takes me back to 1971 every time i hear it. It was a different world , for sure. This album was one of transition, with the addition of Bob Welch, who adds a great element to the band. The first ten albms by FM are their best. I thought that " Mystery to Me " , would give them commercial sucess, and it nearly did. I think it is sad that it wasn't until Buckingham and Nicks arrived that the group headed into superstardom. It always irks me when i encounter someone who is surprised that FM had any albums out before the 1975 album " Fleetwood Mac ". So much great music from the band before Lindsay and Stevie joined up.

John MacAulay 13 January 2018 Many thanks to Thomas for sharing some of the VERY BEST of Fleetwood Mac. Danny Kirwan's playing is nothing short ofBRILLIANT...an enchanting example of "Less is More," especially on WOMAN OF 1000 YEARS and SANDS OF TIME. He sparkledin much the same way on BARE TREES (ie. SUNNY SIDE OF HEAVEN, DUST and SENTIMENTAL LADY). It's a shame that his WHITE FLAME dimmed in his solo career, but for 4 or 5 years that baby-faced virtuoso made my high school listening veryenjoyable! If the CD format had existed in the early '70s those two LPs would have formed one of the very best discs...EVER!This is not to discount the chemistry of F-MAC during the Post-Peter Green years. The namesake rhythm section, Christine McVie, and Bob Welch, along with Jeremy Spencer (on KILN HOUSE) had much to do with that cohesive blend of melodic bliss. What a wonderful era of music...THAT VINTAGE of the MAC was very underrated in those days. 45+ years later I appreciatethat echo-laden offspring of "ALBATROSS" even more!

Back in the day I didn't follow FM other than what was on the radio. Some folks would say that they preferred Christine McVie. I didn't know what to make of it and didn't research. At that time Stevie Nicks ruled. All these years later, I have explored their catalogue all the way back to Peter Green. And of course this gem of an album with so many beautiful songs. McVie's Show Me a Smile is an enduring classic that I enjoy at least as much or more than any of Nicks' hits.

Future Games is the fifth studio album by British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac, released on 3 September 1971. It was their first album to feature Christine McVie as a full member. This album was also the first of five albums to feature American guitarist Bob Welch . “He was totally different background - R&B, sort of jazzy. He brought his personality,” Mick Fleetwood said of Welch in a 1995 BBC interview. “He was a member of Fleetwood Mac before we’d even played a note.”

But, nobody EVER picks an album from the Buck/nicks era...not that there is any dislike, but the sound is much different. The old Mac bands had the envy of all other artists.
