Another tour de force of humor, clarity in teaching, and demonstration of your sound design capabilities and musical expertise (that outro is lovely). Elektron's sending you the Digitone is paying them dividends I am sure. I hope you know how much we are all rooting for you...it's odd as a consumer to feel emotionally connected to creators like yourself, but creepily those of you who follow you can't help but feel like you're our friend, and so we do genuinely empathize with your pain. When you're in that trap, I know it can feel impossible to get out, and literally nothing anyone says can change that feeling, but maybe our collective caring for you can be some small comfort at least. Hang in there good sir, and we'll continue to enjoy anything you share with us.
I've found combos of the right lfos where if you set the amp env release to infinity and play a chord, it will make the most beautiful always evolving Eno-like ambient music on its own forever. Truly an amazing instrument.
I love you man. If it wasn’t for you i wouldn’t have gotten into making music again. You opened up a new world for me in 2017 with those OP-1 videos... I’ve spent far too much on gear since but I can’t thank you enough. My thoughts are with you. Hope everything starts coming up Milhouse for you soon.
Jeremy I absolutely FUcking love the sounds that your ears find pleasing (in general),but especially through the lens of an fm synth sequencer such as the digitone, which I am now highly interested in. Keep up the good work dude don’t let your head get you down. You make the good music!
I'm late to your channel, been a lurker for some time. But it's been a real inspiration to me. As long time "traditional" guitar muso and what have you type, your music has really turned me on to electronic noises and synths. I can see the dreaded black dog follows you about! So from one fellow sufferer to another, thank you for what you do. From a random English guy living in Bulgaria🇧🇬
BTW, your therapy is awesome (it's also my therapy). Keep up the #Digitone coverage. It's my favorite sythn-strument from the past few years, and I feel, a bit under-represented on the UA-cam. Keep uncovering the know-how to producing great sounds.
Good to see you finally getting the digitone out:) bought one last year and I love it. Best synth I own. Not sure about it’s therapeutic value though. More want to tear my hair because that great sound I made suddenly goes to crap because I’ve tweaked the wrong thing while messing around and I never remember to save. Grr.
I love it! The digitone is getting more amazing with time. edit: sorry to hear your life is in shambles. The Digitakt is certainly a therapeutic device for me, and I'm warming up to the digitone. There are definitely more synth parameters that can be p-locked on the Digitone. I would actually love to see a further exploration of using p-locks rather than just swapping presets.
I'm extremely late on this....but after watching this I'm considering getting this device more than ever. I was considering the Opsix AFM but, something about this is very attractive thanks for sharing. The LFOs changing the algorithm and ratio is INSANE!
Jeremy, I love my image of you as a human being. I don't know how accurate it is to the real you, but I really hope it is close. You've impacted my life very profoundly. Thank you. You rock.
helpful explainer! I love the sounds when you apply the LFO! Maybe for next video could you do a track with the sequencer and a midi keyboard? I hear you about being in a funk
Digitone sounds like the subtleties and sweet spots of Novation Circuit wave table synths but with hands on access to the dynamics, instead of those enigmatic 8 Circuit encoders which are never the same function.
Thanks for another excellent video. I don't know what you are going though but can honestly say you aren't alone. Reach out to a friend or professional for help if you need it. Again thanks for the videos!
Dude, I love your channel. I was just thinking about trading out my Digitone and Digitakt - I have a more hybrid setup with Ableton and a few analog synths- but I think I'm going to at least keep the Digitone for pads and bass.
Weird question (sorry, I'm British) but are you from the same place as Fran Blanche because your accent keeps reminding me of something and I just figured out it is Fran!
"you don't fucking arpeggiate pads" not with that kind of attidue :P Seriously, even though it's probably a terrible idea, i'm gonna try this one day just to see if it's even possible
You get lost in sound design when you're using your Access Virus? Is it something you still use? I know it's pretty old by now, but it still seems unsurpassed in its field, so I've been pondering whether to pick one up for "bread and butter" synth purposes. Would love to hear your thoughts about it in more detail.
Suddenly I'm sad that youtube only has a "thumbs-up" button, instead of a "love" button. Because I can't think of many things which are better than RMR on a Virus.
I have a novation circuit and i want to buy a roland juno ds, after the juno ds I will need a real synth and im torn between the digitone and the Minilogue xd, i know they are 2 completely different synths but what is your opinion which one should i buy first? the Minilogue or the digitone?
4 voice analog poly with a keyboard vs 8 voice 4 part FM with amazing sequencer. I can't really tell you which you would get most use out of. They're super different!
Lovely work as always Jeremy! You briefly mentioned the virus..do you still have it? If so any chance on a sound design tutorial?? Love you long time :D
I hope everything is OK with you and thanks for the videos your create!
This style of educating and being miffed at same time is amazing.

Thank you so much for these tutorials. It’s helping me understand FM synthesis a lot better.

Keep your chin up Jeremy. Thanks for making these videos!

Oh wow... that song at the end was fantastic. I'm not normally very into FM, but you really make it shine.
I hope you continue to create in a way that works for you and helps you find fulfilment as you have inspired so many of us to do the same 👍
watching you make synth patches is incredibly entertaining, i learn so much from it too. loving this stuff!
I haven't had time to watch any of your videos lately, but this was very fun, and I am glad you are continuing to experiment and make wonderful noises

Thank you so much, I am digi-ng this series wokka wokka! My Digitone has increased in value thanks to you.
This is so therapeutic! Thank you 😊

Thanks for yet another awesome video. This really is an incredible little box, especially in your highly capable hands.
Factors of 128 are even musical delay ratios. 2,4,8,16,32,64 etc. probably comes from their old roots in trackers
or from 128 midi notes :)
This brings me closer to actually making a patch from init. All this time, I've just been selecting from the pool an tweaking them heavily. Thank you!
I love it! The digitone is getting more amazing with time.

RMR, thank you for making the Digi a hell of a lot more comprehensive for me.
the Gotta Have My Vape reference was choice. good content as always! I hope things are okay, and if not I hope things get better soon!

You sir are a musical gem of da youtubes! Thanks for sharing!
18:53 reminds me of the soundtrack to the greatest of all the zombie films. Burial Ground. I think I need a Digitone. 😅
Fine, fine, I'll buy a digitone. You've convinced me that I'm going to have fun just messing around with one.
:)
Nice! Time for me to take of that dustcover from the Digitone and create Some awesomeness! Thnx for the inspiration.

Beautiful, as always :) Thank you for the video !
Hope you have a great day too :-) Thanks for the interesting couple of videos. The Digitone is a bit of a beast.

Wow, 4:30 onward is just straight Cliff Martinez's TOTDY score.
Great sound design.
