Bruno Mars used the Trilian bass plugin for songs like 24K and Finesse. I owned Trilian from Spectrasonics for years and still use it. It has hundreds of sound options and configurations. It is truly the best. It's expensive but it will make your DAW music projects sound professional 👌.
Hey Buddy, I definitely agree with you on Modo Bass and Trilian being 1 and 2, but worthy of a mention are also. Novation Bass Station, Sugarbytes Cyclop and Rob Papen's Sub Boom Bass 2
It will be great to have a video where you could explain bass arrangements like how to get that perfect gliss (eg, is it chromatic or scale based), layering bass, using bass for different styles like retrowave, pop, dubstep etc. It will be a great help for sure as the way you do it is very special.. Thank you. ♥
I’m 3:30 min in and I’m loving your video. There might be other videos, but it’s the first one I find with actually good sounding basses, shown by an actually good musician 😄
Good review, especially on synth basses, but and I'm saying it as a bass player, the 2 candidates for good electric basses are - PrimeBass (NI), and EZBass (toontrack) (which wins IMO), the sampling of EZ is real without cleaning. you can hear some noises between samples sometimes, which makes it much more realistic, all the electric basses you played, sounded sampled from miles (both compression, and noises are not realistic), and HO/PO works as you expect (most of the time), and I didn't even get to articulations (in EZ - I just got the prime yesterday with Komplete 14, and didn't have time to play with it yet).
I just got the new Komplete 14, they have a new one BassPrime, which is on a different league (EZBass league), BTW I don't really like the other NI basses, as a bass player I always find it easier to record a bass line, than making NI basses sound real (the samples are toooooooooooooooooooo clean and lifeless, no bass player sounds, or even wants to sound like that)), but in EZ, it's almost mix-ready as you finish recording the line.
Great one here brother. Trillian will definitely be hardly dethroned as number one. I have Modo bass though but haven't really explored it much. However, have you tried Ilya Efimov Modern Bass? It's a Kontakt Library I find extremely natural and realistic. My go to bass are easily 1. Spectrasonics Trillian 2. Ilya Efimov Modern Bass 3. Scarbee Rickenbacker 4. Toontracks EZ bass 5. Ample bass. Thanks for your awesome review as always.
Bro. I been waiting for you to do a video on Trillian specifically. Thanks for the snippet at the end.... I know it's a great vst and I bought it a few months ago. But it's a little complex if you don't know how to play.... so shot out to Melodics for the practice and you for the inspiration!!!
Hey! When I worked for Waves I was the lead developer for Bass Fingers/Bass Slapper (along with bass player Or Lubianiker) That was a fantastic review, and your playing is beautiful. I was so happy to see someone playing the instruments we worked so hard for in such a sensitive and musical way. Thank you for that! :) P.S. you can get the hammer-on you were looking for in both Bass Slapper and Bass Fingers by messing with the legato settings on the top right. There is a "Force Legato" menu option that would get the articulation you're after, IIRC. auto-sub, and looking forward to the next videos.
Waves bass fingers sounds good for the price but it doesnt work well with ableton live. Atleast for me it fucked up my ableton and it just started crashing all the time.
@@CandyPaintProductions Oh man, that sucks to hear, sorry about that! It's been a few years since I worked for Waves but I do still use the latest version they released (V14) on my Ableton Live. Maybe it's better to figure it out with their support if there's some update you may need?
really useful with Black Friday coming up :) . Modo Bass sounds great, I wonder if you can midi control finger position to randomise it a bit or slap certain notes a bit harder. Trillian still sounds great too but less bass guitar oriented
Great video again. You are such a great keyboard player. I bought Trillian and Keyscape as a bundle last weekend and had it delivered today. Unfortunately they made a mistake and delivered Stylus RMX instead of Trillian. So now I'll have to send it back and wait a little longer instead. Ah well, I'll have to wait anyway since I don't have my Macbook Pro M1 Max yet. I'm gonna have so much fun when I have my new laptop finally with everything installed. Maybe a video on how you organize things on your computer would be nice. Do you have lots of folders with a lot of plugins or do you just install the bare minimum that you need? How do you save your projects (name wise and do you also always do save+collect)? What is your backup strategy? Do you always work in your studio or also on the road while traveling? Do you have a specific workflow? Templates you use? etc. Just curious.
Seeing the Black Panther poster in the background makes me extremely sad. That man had an incredible career ahead of him on top of what he had already achieved.
I love what you do here. Thank you for the great breakdown of the basses here. I've used or own a few of them and just learned some new things about the Modo Bass I didn't know. Great coverage there.
Bro DO YOU Teach?? Piano?? Bass?? Music Production?? Beat Making?? I would Love to be your Student!! NO CAPP!! && EXTREMELY SERIOUS!! & I PAY!!💪🏿🎯💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
What do you think the best one is going to be for some metal bass? Ive already got some virtual distortion/overdrive pedals to use, just need the bass itself
Thanks for the info .. Which VST's Library are you using for rhythm programming , all ur drums n rhythm sounds in this video sounds really good , and what platform do use to programme
Love that you show much respect for the classic bass lines of ALL genres. Well don, sir.
2 years have passed and this video is still hittin! 🔥🔥🔥
My bro NEVER EVER MISSES!!!🔥🔥🔥 Cedric you killed them basslines!!
Haha this was fun! I appreciate you bro👊🏾
Came to hear VST sounds but stayed for your playing! And thanks for sharing about your musical growth!
I was expecting the EZBass on this list! Nice video, Bro...
As always, you inspire me to become a better player as producer!
It's a dope plugin too!
Mind-blown how these bass lines are created on the keyboard👏🔥
Aye thanks cuz!🤗

appreciate your consideration of bass across multiple music genres - very helpful - so musical ...We The North!

Thanks for the introduction bro. There was a bass plugin I was looking for and I found it here. Take care bro, I'm following you. 🔥🔥🔥

Some really dope VST's in this video & as always I was super impressed with your playing; an absolute beast on those keys!

Dopeness!!! There were was some plugins I never heard of!!! Only thing is if I can say the MM bass you said from NI is Marcus Miller bass!!!
Ok dope!!
Great demo man! Bassalicious reminds me of church for sure! I would use the Korg Triton vst with that one too.
That intro music is awesome bro...
Bro, you are the best bass player on keyboard. Next time I would like to see a video on the best vsts for film scoring
Wow, great video, and you have so much musical talent!!
The Starting and ending beat tho😍I love it so much
Trillian is still King, but Modo Bass comes in as a close second because it sounds phenomenal and the footprint is so small.
I love modo bass even more just too clean👌
loved the demonstrations!, thanks for the awesome video.
Great demo! Thank you! That was very informative. Where do you get the drum grooves from? It sounds epic!
Lots of good bass plugins. Even Ujam makes useful plugins. Playing around with VB Royal.
my brother I would like to learn like you one day you do a nice job because you really master the instruments
Thanks bro my bass search is done after looking at 1 video
Thanks for the demos man really helpful, I appreciate your introduction to some of the finest bass VSTs. Sounds great!

This guy's melodies are ridiculous 🔥
Great review Ced! Love the way you love the bass. I rocks with them basses from Native Instruments. Keep inspiring fam!

I love horns, brass, woodwinds, and real strings. Please give me some good plugin products to try out.

Ample bass plugin is free but if you bounce it, the first part is cut out. So you can’t use it for music production purposes. You need to buy it.
Very cool man thanks

Great video ! I wonder what plugins you use for the drums loops in it ? especially the first ones ;)
I'm new to a lot of this. Are you able to play a real bass guitar and use this program? Or does it have to be on a keyboard?
Waiting for best drum vst😍

All about that bass.
Yes sir!
I think ample sound. Impact soundworks .Orange tree .got the best basses
Nice!
It's strange, after watching this and before clicking like, I noticed the like counter was '808' 😄

You can fake a hammer on with the pitch bend in a pinch. Did it for years before key/velocity switch and the like became more normalized.
yes that's a GREAT point!
Hey men, please where's the link to the sound you played at 0:13 i really enjoyed it
Rob Papen SubBoomBass is the number 1 then trillian.
Thats how you feel i aint mad at you bro!! 👊🏾
Thank you so much! I commented the same on your last video.. Thank you 😊
