  • This award-winning documentary explores ‘Mr Blue Eyes’ deep attachment to Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley, which was his primary home for almost 50 years.
Steeped in affection and appreciation for the deep bond between Sinatra and the beguiling desert towns, “Sinatra in Palm Springs” tells the story of a man whose generosity and compassion for his fellow citizens had no bounds.
He loved the desert and its people. He loved the local restaurants and bars. His best friends lived nearby and their revealing interviews bring to life a bygone era, beginning with the post WWII years and Sinatra’s 1947 home in Palm Springs, tumultuous times with Ava Gardner, his 1954 move to Rancho Mirage, his marriage to Barbara, and life at the “compound”. More than 50 clips from his movies and television appearances bring to life the Sinatra of legend during the Palm Springs years. Major sequences are dedicated to historic restaurants Sinatra frequented for decades. Featuring interviews with Barbara Sinatra, Mel Haber, Tom Dreesen, Nelda Linsk, Bruce Fessier, Trini Lopez, Michael Fletcher and many others who knew and lived and played with Frank Sinatra.

Spoke to a couple who were at a bar when he walked in with a small group. Asked if they minded sliding over one bar stool, which they did. Never paid for a drink the rest of the night.

It's weird because I grew up in the Coachella Valley and there is nothing I love more than going out for a drive late at night, this place is magical and I love Frank.

As a newer vacation home owner in Rancho, there's nothing like driving in the cool of the evening with the lights shining up at the palms and the twilight behind the mountains. I truly love it!

I just saw this recently and really enjoyed it. Sinatra was quite the generous individual. I would've loved to sing with him and/or play golf with him. I share his birthday and am also an entertainer, so I think we might've hit it off. :)

What an icon recognized for generations. As an ex local I visit Melvyn's for a good time and especially a good martini any chance I can get. A feeling unmatched across the states.

Spent years there stayed at the Ingleside up until 2017 when the SFO suits took over. Was never the same they lost masses of clientele. Their rates went through the roof they tizzied it up and the bar was changed. Happy memories of the decade of fun.

I'm trying to understand what you mean by SFO ?
At first I thought you meant San Francisco order meaning priests and nuns or something like that😂

It was an entire different vibe.
I like what they did to the landscaping and villas,
but I think they went over the top with the bar and restaurant, and lobby.

He was a good person who at one point got very used to be treating like royalty ; but he was also extremely generous but could undo some of his good by having a bad temper and so yeah he was sometimes his own worst enemy .
Also some have said that the way he talked about his own depression and going from that mode into mania implies that he may have suffered from bipolar illness to a degree .

I feel sad about how he turned on his personal valet and never spoke to him again when it wasn't the valet's fault ... Mia Farrow showed up where he was and made him dance with her briefly ... this was just after her divorce and he didn't even want to dance with her ... Frank found out and had him officially fired by a letter from his lawyers ... the guy was devastated as they had been like family .
So in this wonderful documentary the grown son mumbles something about I don't know why he wrote the book .
