Greg is a self-taught survivalist from Canal Flats, British Colombia, who, since he was a boy, has read nearly every book on the topic. When he is not out in the wilderness, he is a professional dry-waller. He started his first bow drill fire when he was thirteen and spent the next forty years learning bushcraft and studying plants and edibles. He has even developed some of his own survival techniques and is a skilled hunter with both a bow and a slingshot.

That dude cruising around in the wilderness and boating with chef gear on is hysterical
Needs to grow up.
Dont need that kind of negativity around here fumang, dont be a giant wadd.
Well he's young & inexperienced & playin the part as a chef. He's learning, cut him some slack. He's alright 👍
I am not trying to be mean but larping as a chef is not the same as being a chef.
I like him & he's doin a good job. Thanks Chef 👍
The chef needs to go on a two week camping trip greg
Absolutely 💯
I like that he wears his chefs hat and apron and full kitchen attire even when he's trudging through the bush. A real character, and clearly a talented chef.
I think the Chef is awesome. The young man has some great ideas and I wish him much success.
I think so two 👍 👍 👍
These videos with the chef are really good. You guys should do a 30 day survival challenge together.
This chef and his posse really annoys me but Greg is such a nice bloke that it's still fun to watch 😅
couldnt agree more
I like the small oyster smaller better. Cooked on fire or berquets with butter and garlic
If the lights suddenly flicked off.. The Chef and Greg Ovens would inherit the world. The admiration of these two men is IMMENSE!!!! :D
Whew, I thought I missed it lol. My momma German shepherd had puppies. Having the busiest time of my life 😂❤😂
Omg mine too. Her name is LadyBirb and she had 13!!!! The runts were twins! in my opinion, they came out together and both identical size and coat pattern. I feel like I had a new born child.. the same level of anxiety again XD so many little lives ice skating in a frozen sea of peril. We got industrial grade coyotes that can dispatch a decent working dog so it’s a constant scare. Best advice I can give, give momma wet food. The babies will smell the food on her and not wander and find trouble. They’ll gravitate to her more often than not. Just pray she’s as liniment as lady XD.
Congratulations Furbaby Grandmas'! 🎉
@@teresadvorak6145 thank you 🌹
New life, coming into the world 😊. Being a prod father( inlaw ) ❤.
So nice to shut the rest of the world off and embrace solitude watching Greg
would be cool to see Greg, Fowler and Amos explore the skills of homeless people in and around cities and spend some time teaching and maybe learning with them. Most of the skills used in bushcraft are born from necessity and in the modern world the un-housed surely must possess the survival skills of tomorrow?
That would be awesome 👍
Good food, good company, good weather, great video. I particularly liked the comparisons with the different ferro rod metals. Very interesting! Hope to see Ms. Barb in the next video.
The chef is so funny and IC Fin is loving the boys company showing them his stick . Awesome the boys and chef are learning some bushcraft skills as well as a few edible plants to eat , love the size of the mushroom . man that is big. Good video Greg.
We're all here for you Greg, and the support staff, and Zach Fowler as well. Wishing you the best of success. Spread the word to your friends everyone. Don't keep this a secret.
keep what a secret?
@@asstaco excellent content.
Just watched “alone” and realized you were on there my wife and I were rooting for you. I hope you built your daughter that house you were talking about!
legendary adventures
I need a guy that wants to do stuff like this, My girlfriends are chickens.
Benefits of living on Beautiful Vancouver Island 🤓
Another great video Greg 👏 you should do a video with steve Wallis. You guys are my favorites on UA-cam. And both of you are the most wholesome content creators in my opinion.
This is ducking amazing , I’m a chef and an avid outdoorsman , the culmination of the two makes my heart extremely happy ❤️
18-24 mths for oysters to become adult they will be around 3” in size then it’s a 1” per year. They are good to clear out your system to as they pass through you fairly quick
👍 Thanks for the video guys 🎉..... JJ....😊
I have a lot of favorite Ovens episodes and this one definitely is in my top 3! Fun, entertaining and educational. I'm addicted and want to see more!
Do you have a link to where you purchase your ferro rod
I wanna see Greg showing off his sheetrock hanging skills with some floating, taping, texture, and paint.
I love how Fin is keeping an eye on these newbies. He's watching out for these potential VICTIMS
Wow bulls eye Greg, oohhh,,,,weehhh,,,, like a pro, this adventure is been so fun and got many to things to learn great and awesome knowledge. Thank you Ovens and the rest of the crew.
Huge thanks to the editing team. You know who you are 😎 Good job as usual guys.
If people from Toronto weren't allowed to vote, they'd be entertaining to have around.
Greg, i still think u should play the role of Abraham Lincoln in a good movie 😅. Love yer vids. Thanks bro ❤ PS ..so glad to see Finn, he is absolutely the best. He knows what hes doing, bringing firewood in for ya 🐕
Just so you know..😊 companies keep oysters on ice up to 3 weeks and they will stay alive.
I've watched this 3 times!!! ❤ this group together.
greg those shots of you in slow-mo look fantastic ! super interesting ferro rod comparison.
Actually, maybe it’s the cameraman and needs to grow a pair
Respect for Greg, he didn't waste the broken oyster even though he doesn't like it raw.
Righteous. I'm hungry now.
Unpopular opinion but I'm not really into the chef crowd. Bit annoying.
I’m an oyster junkie. Awesome forage right there. Good time outdoors 🐸🍺🔪🔥
Looked like an absolute fun time.
Where did you find this amateur chef at?
Awesome!!! can't wait for more episodes like this!!!Bona Petit!!!😊
Chef seems like a little bit of a wuss😂

Marvelous video my friend.
Lol great story!!! I was 10 in 1976 and me and My Best mate' Bean' had built a dugout style den (called today shelter)
Corrigated tin roof covered in grass sods Anyway we had hed enough of school and we would spend the rest of our days living in our WW1 dugout
IT got dark and we were hungry so we agreed to meet up and walk to school at the usual time next morning 😅👍
Greg you guys hanging out different personalities up out in the woods doing what you do really great video
For some who haven't seen you build different smokers, you could make a SMOKER VARIETY VIDEO , condensed to their construction. ⁉️ Concentrated info.
So. Righteous. Got a couple inches of snow here in Philly. Bout time. Cold as poop. Philly winters cant be brutal. 52 yrs. Should know right. Hellow from NE.
Greg you gotta restore the saw,,, on UA-cam Short
Awesome video
Yummy oysters 👍 wow your sparks are like fireworks 👍 impressive
You guys are funny educational!! Your so wise love that. 🔥⛺️🔥Love all that survival
food …Cheers 🔥
i question his chefery for not knowing to just stick the herbs under the chickens skin by seperating the membrane from the meat and then get your finger in there with the herbs and oil. also lot of people dont know that chicken in particular when cooked over a fire, the meat might be red even when cooked because a chemical compound in the smoke causes the myoglobin to not fully breakdown/convert in color
Dude! For real??
AFTER you did the whole “Venetian blind” explanation, you laid the ferns the other way???
I finally watched yours an d Zach’s season of alone. When you tapped you were so disappointed to feel like everything was over. But look where you are now!!! You didn’t need to win. You made it out of the system!!! I hope drywalling is in the past these days🤘🏼766k and counting!!!!!
Very interesting 🤔 content guys. Man I'd like to have that chief around when I go camping 🏕️. Looked like a great 👍 time 😉. Thanks for sharing 😊.
Hey Greg! I have to say this, I’ve been quietly waiting for a sling shot video it would make a great series watching you learn how to master the slingshot. I realize your eyes may be not as good as in your 20s (no offence)! But i bet you would get good at it. I blasted a pidgeon today in the bush a VERY far shot and i nailed it right on the sweet spot! Made me think of Zachery because he literally inspired me to buy a slingshot, i thought i had enough guns to start with but i love using that thing. Very different from just normal hunting with a rifle. So much more rewarding! I hope you are well, i lost my father in 2023 and he taught me everything useful i know of how to not die in the woods and put food on the table no matter where it is I’ll find it… it feels good watching your channel. Reminds me of all the times out in the woods with my dad. Weeks on end only having very limited food with us and just ate fish or grouse or watever we could get that day. I’m learning valuable lessons about plants and mushrooms from you, that was the only thing I wasn’t very curious of growing up. But im now 32 and I’m starting to see the beauty of it instead of just a shore. our soul are pretty similar and now when pops went ill have to learn from you hehe thanks! im from Lapland sweden. It’s weird how Canadians from where you are from are SO similar to us over here, it feels like we who love the woods, have a remarkable bond to each other world wide, we just want to get a SHELTER, a fire for the night and preferably a bite to eat before going to bed!!!😊
Love the cooking but you need to be camping greg
Gregg chef love his hat and all with you are having so much fun gathering dinner. 😂 "Chunky Monkey ". 😂 ❤ Protein!!! 😅
Can u make a video on best bushcraft way to make a toilet? that’s my biggest hump when it comes to bushcraft. Can u hollow a toilet out of a tree stump? or bring an actual toilet seat out in the bush?
Sorry Greg, Chef stole the show, his great skills, attitude, fall and get up humour and constant input. Luckily we have a version of chef in our family, same out going personality and can make anything taste like wow. Trouble is he lives a thousand miles away. We only see him rarely. Bummer.
😅here's the name for the kid's new restaurant " Castiron and Fire at Wild On " feature this stuff,,farm raised wild birds,, elk, venison and buffalo. Shit,,I bet it would be a huge hit in T-town
Dont complicate my life with implements and utensils… Greg Ovens ❤️❤️
Ooh Greg. What do we say about chef. Number one he is a massive hug in a mug. What a lovely guy open to all your ideas and he is so open to experimenting. Brilliant to watch.😊😊
Fins thinking, your butts hanging out chef watching him climb up there 🤣🤣🤣
Hey.... I like to c u ...use a ready power drill to start a fire...lol...rig something up ....
Cooking with spruce wood isn’t recommended but in a pinch why not 🤷🏻♂️. Did you guys get the shits?
This is a dream trip for me. Greg, a chef and a cavalcade of jokers just hanging out in the woods doing bushcrafty junk. Dang!
Maybe I missed it in the first half of the series..? Who are these guys and where do they come from?
Great content as always Greg!! 😎 Really enjoying this
Nice video, I really enjoyed very much , thank you for sharing it. 👍♥️🔥🥗 😋
Cooking over pine. Bad idea. I have no doubt that this chef has expertise. But I was taught never to cook over pine. It turns the flavor of the meat absolutely uneditable.
some guy: "Hey check out these cool sparks". Greg: *Starts shooting fireballs like a real life Harry Potter.
😂 must have Fire 🔥 proof Gloves when cooking oysters on flaming fire, 😂 ❤ yes safety first. Man wish I was there.
That was a beautifully roasted chicken. Very impressive
If you cook a chicken like that again you could try put a Dutch oven over the top for the last 15-20 minutes. Bet that would make sure it was all the way done.
Would love to Come and visit you some day greg! Greetings from a dutchmen living in germany. Keep up the good work!
😊😊 right on 👍😎😎
There's always that one guy in the group where nothing is better than his equipment always competing his stuff compared to others can anyone guess who that one person is in this vide?????
As a home chef/cook whole chicken takes longer than you think to cook. The leg and the attached area is the trubble spot for being cooked at the same time with out drying or burning the rest of the bird. Even in an oven the chicken cooks uneven this is why I always remove the legs before cooking.
So f*’***’g hilarious to watch this episode like the first one… Gregg you are awsome even got a pro chef taste something new he never did before and got exited thats not a every day event . Hope he take this to his resturant a wanna try it out too ..
Keep on with your things ,you educate and show the reality thats is something i and a sopouse a lot of other people learn a lot from you.
Love to watch your videos because their down to earht reality go on with that 👍
Sadly greg is going from humble to commercial property arrogance...
Salted water gets the bugs out of mushrooms pretty fast. maybe he didnt know that? Just dont let them soak longer than 15 minutes or so, mushrooms are like sponges.
Greg, you seem like a great guy and I liked your shows but man you have to edit some of this stuff out. There’s just so much time I want to devote to someone building a fire.
My rule of cooking chicken is when the meat Strinks the chicken is done. Or when the drum bone is reviewed
Greg, I was looking on the store page for the fire starter rod you use and I didn't see one. Can you comment a link to one you use. Thanks.
Greg there is an App you can put on your phone, take a picture, and will tell you everything about the plant or mushroom you are looking at.
Gregg lemon and chopped green onions alittle soy 😂tots up yummy.😮enjoy.
Just notice Gregg when shot the bow & arrow same like when you casing out your line when fishing soo unique! ❤
Hello from Beautiful British Columbia Canada 🇨🇦
Anyone else miss the old Greg bushcraft videos? Maybe im the only one
I got the feeling that someone was hiding Twinkies under the pillow!!😂
lol a chef in the wood... it look out of place and some how fitting ... it weird right XD...
great and funny video greg, the chef should have his own channel..lol..all the best
This stuf is legendary! Chef in the bush! hahahahahahahaha! This is next level funny!
the chef is not a real chef he is a cook at best , he dont even know you dont need that much oil to cook mushrooms and that they contain a lot of water .And dont even know if the chicken is cooked , if he is actuly employed as a real chef he needs letting go
We always called the pine mushrooms "hen of the woods". Love em!
HEY OVEN, YOU EVER THINK ABOUT COMING TO PENNSYLVANIA MOUNTAINS,?
