- Greg designs and builds a chicken coop in the Rockies, equipping it with a creek-fed water system and a predator-proof run. He enlists the help of some old friends and makes some new ones along the way.
Greg is a self-taught survivalist from Canal Flats, British Colombia, who, since he was a boy, has read nearly every book on the topic. When he is not out in the wilderness, he is a professional dry-waller. He started his first bow drill fire when he was thirteen and spent the next forty years learning bushcraft and studying plants and edibles. He has even developed some of his own survival techniques and is a skilled hunter with both a bow and a slingshot.

*We got us the ultimate Mickey Mouse coop. A white 2003 Ford van with a caved in front but all the windows has the tailgate up and self tapping screws secure a forty foot ring of five foot tall wire fence to each side. Both engine and the eggs are good.*

I love Greg Oven’s ’videos, so much. In this video, Greg showed us that treating Hop Along and his chicken friends & the animals that sustain us & nourish us well, pays these animals thanks and respect for the nourishment they give back to us. Of course we can’t all raise animals for food. But those of us who do, ought do so in a caring and decent manner. This is a great video (as are many of Greg’s) to play for children, to teach them early on, about the circle of life. (Parents should think about doing so.) Imo ❤🐣🐥🐔 Thanx Greg❤

I've noticed with raising animals. You get attached. They pass and it's rough. But then you get another one and share another piece of your life with that animal. I have a cat that's a third generation. And he reminds of his mother every day.

I am raising chickens for eggs and thought about meat chickens but damn they do become family pets. I know they taste so much better. Those chickens grew fast as hell
