1 John

Our world is filled with human beings who are just like Noah’s contemporaries.
You may remember that while Noah built the ark, anticipating the judgment of God, those who lived in his day laughed it off. They lived like nothing would ever happen.
This Sunday in 1 John 4, we are going to focus in on verses 17-18, because much of what John says in the larger text we’ll be studying is a variation on a theme from a previous part of his letter. But as I prayed about this message and prepared for it, I felt compelled to spend time having us ask ourselves the question (based on verses 17 and 18): “Should I fear the judgment of God?” My prayer is that by the end of the sermon, your answer will be: “No, by the grace and love of God.”
