Practically everything that could’ve gone wrong in those extremes ended up happening and both groups were still able to bs their way to victory. You love to see it
As long as you only have total disaster happen slightly whenever the group has recovered enough to take it, I'm sure it'll be fine! 😂 Probably some of the funniest clears I've been a part of!
For Titan EX at this point, especially if you take into consideration the kind of mechanics players are expected to deal with in more "casual" modern content, I think the biggest struggle in the past was ping, and feel like your 3man sync kind of demonstrates that, or how a lot of people do MiNE clears for fun on a lot of content. My bonus fact today is that in an old live letter they made a 16bit rendition video of the Titan fight, and you can still find that video on the official ff14 channel. It has a lot of legacy ARR skills on display which I always find funny. Like the warrior's tank stance giving extra hp, or having its Assassinate style attack (sub 20% target hp ogcd that did some damage) and a bunch of little details like that.
Indeed! The fact falling off the arena no longer means you're just out of the fight also makes a huge difference in how approachable this particular fight is! I do remember seeing that video too! 😊
15:45 this makes a bit of sense. Right after reset = people getting in early while they remember. A few days before reset = people panicking and getting weeklies in quickly. The commendation grinders probably try to get in while people are on.
I actually witnessed people bailing from an extreme trial even before it started just recently, The Whorleater. Funny thing too, since it was the very first mentor roulette with my Xaela alt!😄 The group was made mostly out sprouts, and two guys left instantly. We filled the group, having 6 sprouts and 2 mentors and eventually cleared! (although someone did initiate vote abandon after 3 wipes, but it was ignored) The advice I gave as a mentor paid off. People just leaving instantly without saying anything is shameful. Now I can safely say, Monk is the tank, when tanks take a breather. Why do I say this? Because in my static, Monk is usually the one tanking, when me and my co-tank lie on the ground!😂 Now I have confirmation, thanks Cae!
In my experience it is unfortunately very common for one or two players to just scoot immediately when they see it is an extreme, which is also the reason why I view it as an observed positive that people actually stayed! 😂 Awesome that you got it down by the way! I actually have yet to face leviathan ex in Mentor Roulette! 😊
@@CaetsuChaijiCh If you ever get there, keep your eyes open in order to see, where Leviathan will either appear or do a sweep. And when the blue tether orbs appear, remember to attack them only once to get them follow you; don't try to destroy them.

12:44 ADVANCED Ramuh tips: don't stand so close to Ramuh when you have chaos debuff just for this case, normally it takes a lot of time for Ramuh to cast aoe but if it's add phase, he casts it immediately which means that being close to the water makes this surprise survivable as a charmed person in the middle (and hoping that someone will notice you and give you zap). But it also could be bad tip that only delays your death by 20s and stacks it with another group of 2 which could be worse ymmv
@@CaetsuChaijiCh we tried doing that in my MiNE static, and elected never again since it just made the person essentially dead but unraisable because he'd just do the aoe right before the debuff expried.
If i remember right, Titan doesn't use stonecrusher during the heart phase, so you wouldn't have to worry about a swap there anyway. I believe we always used that as a way to reset the stacks in MINE.
So regarding the Bockman science I have done, a few clarifications: It might be possible to solo Uneventful Tincan on every job solo without acknowledging the existence of the adds, but unless you are playing GNB, you will need to make proper use of your defensive options (including kiting for all ranged jobs and bloodbath for all melee dps). Also I have not tested every job. Only SCH, GNB, PLD, RPR, MNK, VPR, MCH and PCT. Alternatively you could just kill the adds. Casters should use Sleep on the adds and healers might end up just kiting with their dot, but as EVERY melee enemy in this duty is unable to hit you while you are kiting properly, this should not pose that much of a problem (the only ranged add spawns when Bockman reaches 25% hp). The job I would be most worried about for this is SGE, as you have no instant casts at level 11, including no dot
Perhaps the power of kardia will be enough! 🤔 But Indeed, an important asterisk to remember when it is said something is soloable, is that if the difficulty is unspoken, it probably means it wasn't trivial! 😅
40 mins for Shadowbringers alliance is alright with me. I still have nightmares from that one Copied Factory run I did as AST some time after Dawntrail dropped and it took over an hour. So much rezzing. At the last boss we wiped because we didn't kill the adds in time and he killed us with the big rockets. We didn't wipe otherwise, the general DPS was very low and everybody kept dying. I died too a few times later in the raid, because my focus was so shot.
Yeah 40 minutes is perfectly fine - I guess I just remember going faster a long time ago, making it feel longer! 😅 Oh that sounds like a nightmare indeed! 😰

Honestly, for Ramuh, unless only 1 person does extra orb cleanup only, the group should just leave the orbs alone. Yeah Ramuh does more damage but I can't count the frustration when tanks can't swap because the group stole the orbs they require. If you don't have acute awareness of everything going on in the fight from EVERYONEs PoV, touching those orbs usually leads to a wipe in some form if you have no business touching them. Ranty, but that fight ticks me off as a tank with aggressive players that don't understand the entire state of that fight as they would need to have when interacting with those orbs.
Definitely! That's also why I often quietly "forget" to mention this need to keep the orb count down when explaining the fight in groups, so I have the ability to control it on my own if possible! 😂

Looking at your red girl fight, I'm wondering if they've made more improvements to the visuals to make it less of an epilepsy trigger (or if the lighting update helped.... hmm). The wall insta-kill aoe certainly looks less (visually) painful than it used to be, and whilst those chains and floor aoes are definitely pushing up against the risk for me, they look... less immediately migraine inducing than they used to be. (It used to be *the quickest trigger I have ever found* which was a big (if incredibly annoying) achievement) I might have to give it a go next time (with meds on hand), because it would be *great* if I didn't need to die and hide outside the room for one of the boss fights... (and, more importantly, it would mean I could start queuing alliance/mentor roulettes as healer/tank, because I've never been willing to risk leaving the alliance without one of those during Red Girl).
