This was a beautiful documentary. And how lucky that lady is to be accepted by the abuelos... I have to say though the museums in Dresden and Madrid need to return the stolen codices as well as any other stolen artifacts. It’s not right. They belong in the area where they were created.
Not only do they belong there but the fact that they were stolen led to the prosperity of the nations of the thieves, including the gold and silver.

21 December 2012 was the end of the world, as far as human consciousness goes. The end of the world need not be physical doom. There are also those who say that that date was actually wrong, and was 21 December 2020. And, still others that say 21 December 2012 was the beginning of a new cycle, and 21 December 2020 the end of it.
The Spanish Conquistadors burnt thousands of Maya books, and only 4 survived. That was a great loss, much like the Library of Alexandria.
There should anyway be the best of the past, including ancient past, with the best of the present.

I've been re-watching 3:00 - 15:00 over and over for the last couple of hours or so and have yet to feel like I've absorbed 10% of.
Look at the Tibetan astrology and older Faith than Buddhism it's called bon I also recommend looking at Vedic astrology if you wish for a book there are many in Sanskrit translated into English and of course, egypt. For anybody to argue that these civilizations are not connected and many others would be a foolish pipe dream and I look forward to the day that we could find the civilization that these broke off from.

Hello, I have just came across your videography, and very interested as I am of Indian culture, have a monican Indian card, but also supposedly cherokee, Irish scottish mix possibly german! Not sure. But this is the bloodline I've followed down my parents bloodline! I don't trust any institution, and have had some very idk magical experiences occur in my life! A lot happemd before then but a lot has occurred before then! If anyone knows if their is Amy significance please lmk, as my parents are both born on Christmas day, most those I was told that was here to protect me have passed bw Dec and march, as well my aunts n 2 grandmothers passed on Christmas day! They say that the Mayans were a 1000 years earlier and more accurate in their mathematical calculations than the Greeks, who were probably influenced by earlier Middle Eastern mathematics.

They were conquered by the Spaniards & the decedents of the Maya today live across Southern Mexico & Central America like Guatemala. The people interviewed did not just study the Maya, they are most likely descendant. Most Latinos are descendant of at least one of the MesoAmerican civilizations with some people having more connections with our Native ancestors than others.
The Maya were one of the oldest civilizations, then along with the Mexica (“Aztecs”) & the Incas were the largest empires that were conquered for their gold & authority over the smaller territories throughout the Americas.

I feel like this lady completely misunderstood what the general idea of cyclic movement the maya were trying to transmit.

The presence of nature is evidence to us that there is a living God. A God who lives in a spiritual world. The Mayans were closely using nature to connect and gain knowledge of life. It is likely that the spirits were revealing facts to the Mayans as they studied life carefully. DNA is not a spiral. It is a double helix. A spiral BY DEFINITION has an increasing (or decreasing) radius. The radius of our DNA is constant. Sure, the molecules rotate around the center point as you go down the strand but the radius from the center to the outer molecule remains the same. This is known as HELICAL not spiral. They show the Fibonacci sequence which is one particular spiral.... note how its radius increases.

While the helical and Fibonacci sequence do differ substantially at the base pattern, both are I think complementary inasmuch as they do move in predictable patterns, Unless acted upon by outside forces undetected or as of yet unknown. While we may have a very sound perspective of the science and mathematics of both, there will always remain larger forces acting at a scale or timeframe which we have yet to discover.
There is still much yet to be revealed or discovered, both on our earth, in our observable galaxy, and universe. That is not something that even the ancient civilizations going back tens of thousands of years could know fully, and even with modern technology and observation, there are still those hidden mysteries still to uncover. An example is at the quantum scale.
If history has proven anything, we have both gained and lost knowledge, depending on the era, and newly discovered and understood principles have been refined, and we will continue to be. In any study of these ancient principles, curious and humble observation and research always can reveal new understanding.
Your definition of spiral and helical is a very good current definition, but you are thinking in current times, in the past for the Mayans the spiral was the constant round movement on a pat in other words spiral and helical were the same thing.

She read an artical somewhere saying their were mistakes in the georgorian calender and we are missing 8 years so we really should be dating our calenders 2012. Never heard it before. Didnt know about the Ethiopian calendar. Very cool.
