  • December 21, 2012. This date, identified by the Maya nearly 1,400 years ago, has in recent years become the source of great curiosity and debate. Some believe it will bring catastrophic events. Others, an era of enlightenment. But what did the ancient Maya themselves believe? In 2012: The Beginning, we travel the world to examine what the Sacred Maya texts really say.

In 2005, I spent a month traveling through the Yucatan peninsula with a Mayan shaman descended from a continuous lineage of Mayan shamans. We visited all the Mayan sites in the Yucatan. Much of his teachings about the cosmology and religious significance of the sites was vastly different from the western colonizer interpretation that is still perpetuated by modern archaeology. In particular, we had a lengthy discussion about the Mayan calendar. To say the west got it wrong is an understatement. Mayans NEVER predicted an "end of the world" in 2012 or in any other time. The shaman explained that, similar to Hindu cosmology, Mayans divided up the flow of time into 24,000 year cycles that break down into two 12,000 year cycles. Each of these is further divided into specific eras. In Vedic cosmology, these eras are called "yugas" and are characterized by specific evolution and devolution of human societies until they degrade entirely and then the cycle begins again with a period of enlightenment. The Mayan calendar simply said that 2012 was the end of a 12,000 year cycle. Not the end of the world.
This is the limitation of documentarians and archaeologists putting these types of conclusions together without consulting actual Mayan shamans descended from the traditions.
Furthermore, one other conversation with this shaman stood out. While at Chichen Itza, NASA had just taken over the site for further study so the main pyramid was restricted to the public. NASA could study it for decades and never get it right, he said definitively. He said "as long as the west continues to view science and religion as separate things, they will never understand Chichen Itza. And they will never understand the Maya." This fundamental difference in the way western empires of the northern hemisphere, steeped in Abrahamic traditions, treat objective science and subjective science- and along with that, science as a whole and religion- as opposites, is the immovable limitation to understanding other cultures, especially those of the global south. Scholar Rajiv Malhotra wrote an excellent book on this topic, titled "Being Different: An Indian Answer to Western Universalism." For those interested in the subject, I can't recommend this book enough.

At last, information telling the truth of 2012. Obviously the world didn't flip upside down in 2012. In 2021, almost 2022, we have some hindsight that show major changes are happening. That a struggle between those that want change for the better and those that want to cling to a destructive past to keep the status quo. This age is birthed in turmoil and what matures out of this turmoil, good or bad, is up to our mass consciousness. Is our majority greedy and self destructive or benevolent and healing. We must change our consciousness to the benevolent. Thanks. Lvya.

Good time to upload this again, good moment to remaind us that our human perespective of time is different from the Galactic pulse.. Yes we did startted a new era on Dec.2012. and we went through labor pains and moved up the spiral of time.. and yes, it takes time in cosmic terms. Maybe now we will finally understand the importance of time counting properly. Because who saw a 30-1 days in a month? Or a day that starts in the middle of the night ??
When you count time, for example, you count the beginning of a day at sunrise or sunset. And when you count moons, you find that there are 13 occurrences in a year. The Mayan people have lots to tell us at this time, listen to them.

12/21/2012 was the end of the Age of Pisces and the beginning of the Age of Aquarius. The Age of Aquarius is the first Age in the Precession of the Equinoxes - a repeating cycle. It is the astronomical basis of astrology. An Age is 2,160 years. There are 12 Ages of the Zodiac totalling 25,920 years.

Our ancient ancestors, generations before the modern scientific age, had a different worldview. They saw a correlation between terrestrial objects and events on one hand and specific night-sky phenomena (dynamic real images and their interactions and changes) on the other hand. Some of the interactions and changes occurred daily, some during seasonal changes, and others over long periods of time (for example the 25-26 000 years cycle divided into 4 or 5 age cycles). The appearance and changes of sky-images together with their terrestrial counterparts inspired human culture (including the formation of religion, rituals, sacrifice) and influenced non-biological behaviour. Out of this worldview, simplified, as above so below, emerged various cultural expressions including religion in its wider sense. There are also several misunderstandings of ancient “astronomy” - alignment of plenary bodies (eg. Kepler Great Age), solstice and equinox, the Zodiac (the various zodiacs are a sort of summary or code for the major night-sky images) and astrology. The Mayan Calendar may have been wrong by 5 years, the new major cycle according to the ancient worldview was in March/April/May (period) of 2007 - the alignment and also referred to as the Passover period or rebirth period and a second period of the same celestial changes (restoration) October/November/December 2007. In my free online book, The Zodiac in Our Genes - Is God Dead, I provide detail descriptions of the night-sky images (based on actual observations accidentally discovered in 2007) and their relationship to ancient ideas. In two more unpublished books - Aries the Lamb of God, and Akashic Records and Holy Grail, I expand on the insights gained since my observations in 2007 showing how major religious, gnostic, exoteric ideas and practices are part of the same wine cast into new bottles. These ancient cosmo-terrestrials ideas evolved into religions, ideas and practices still prevalent in contemporary society. While these ancient ideas resulted in the evolution and progression of humans, however, these have become absolete and are hamstringing our further evolution.

Think about it. They said mayans knew planetary alignment. Masters of astrology. But they couldn't even read what they wrote. They knew nothing about December 21, 2012. They only knew it till a person came out and deciphered what tortuguero monument 6 said. This information was not there's. It was left by someone else.

The people who are of that culture.
Seems like the first time in years.
They are saying something about the topic of the Mayans and then the Mayan calendar.
My dad married One of the native women from yuctun. And the first time we meet. 1974. She had to learn Spanish. I understand a little Spanish. And I accidentally sent the wrong message to her.
    The first time I spoke.
    And her response was.
    I'm not a Mexican.
Mexico moved over on to the state of Yucatan peninsula and took it.
After they lost their half of Mexico.
America nevermind they deny the whole thing ever took place.
And then they allowed Ore had MEXICO move over. I was corrected again and she told me that the prymids in Yucatan are Mayans.
    Not MEXICO.

How did they loose all this knowledge? If they were invaded did the invading culture integrate their knowledge into their own ? Did they just all die out?

    • @usmarine3265
      @usmarine3265 Рік тому +1

We didn't die out actually. See. After the conquest many were looked down at and discriminated. So, in order to be considered of a higher class, the more you strayed away from being indigenous the more respect you had and financial wealth. The other way were laws and consequences of being indigenous so, some lost land and for example, la gran matanza of Jan 1932 killed from 10 thousand to 30 thousand indigenous. And a law was passed that whomever looked indigenous shall be killed. So people left their clothing customs and language which was not taught to the next generation. Now el salvador has implemented nahuat language classes because they know they're loosing the language. And to this day some are scare to even seek help because they were considered indigenous and are scared to go to prison.
Many sacred books were burned. Like the whole Spanish conquest was a brutal assault and most teachings history science was lost burned and destroyed. As a matter of fact, at one point they had a priest appointed to have the indigenous write everything they knew, traditions science astronomy. Surgery etc... I forget why but the priest got upset and had most all the scriptures burned. Only 4 codex survive now. And like so unless we find it we have no clue what they knew. Some archeology sites have found so much within the last 2 years. Other places are being discovered and some places unfortunately do not have the funds to do such process...
In all we are still here. Mexica toltecas mayans lencas but the difference is how much you know of oneself. Most people have not left their country and have reproduced within their community per say for decades. The blood is there, they opression of colonialism, the government and religion well, that changed the thought of who they are. Put it this way, not even my mom knew where she came from or who her grandparents came from. To her it was like *poof* the Spanish appear and we are all here. Also last note, in some country an indigenous is defined as dark skin. With no wealth or land. ..... why? Cuz they all seem to have the same facial features... so poor and dark skin. (A tan from the sun)
