My running commentary to your video:
Mirror Visitor: agree that it’s not really enemies to lovers and the slow burn is ACTUALLY SLOW BURN. Like, these books are sci-if/political thriller first and second and romance third. The romance is NOT the priority. I did really like the world building and vibes in the first book, I was having vivid hallucinations and that’s how you know it’s good shit. Thorne is a really great foil/love interest for O. The first book is mostly setup and once you figure out what’s going on it’s pretty fun.
Missing of Clairedelune: the BEST book in the series IMO. Archibald?!? LOVE me a manic pixie dream boy. Thorne and O’s relationship develops VERY well, and I love that Thorne falls first because of how strong-willed O is. I loved the twist that Thorne was marrying O for her Reading powers, it’s GREAT. The cliffhanger?!?! INSANE
I agree that the last 2 books are VASTLY different from the first two, very existential and difficult to understand.
Babel: crazy time jump. Love the Thorne plot twist. Hate that they get separated AGAIN.
Echoes: love that you gave up and mixed Babel & Echoes together because same. Echoes was mess for me, I literally had no clue what was going on 😭. Hated all the Victoria POV, made no sense. Sorry for being bitter! I can’t believe the book ends with Thorne and Ophelia SEPARATED :((((((
thx for the vid. No one in my life has read the whole series (I’ve dissuaded my book friends from finishing it because I hated Echoes so much) but yeah great vid!
