2023 and I still keep coming here, one of the best songs ever written. Tosin and Misha go beyond perfection when composing
goku and vegeta making a fusion is this

This comment on this video is everything I need in life.

This is actually an exact 50/50% split of Periphery and AAL. Exactly. And you can tell who wrote what.
Couldn't agree more, they both have such distinct styles, its quite easy to pick out who was influencing which part more. Love this song
Misha Mansoor helped produce pretty much all of their records except for the newest one, and has influenced the songwriting somewhat as well- since I've studied his writing, I can hear it throughout the first album a great deal, and a little on Weightless. While he helped structure and record Joy Of Motion, I think Javier really found his voice with that record and so did Gartska.
Gartska only got involved on the songwritting in the Madness of Many, because when he arrived The Joy of Motion was, as far as I know, near to finish (On matters of songwritting).
@@Tomahawks360 Fair. But I really really REALLY like the drumming on that record and it wouldn't be farfetched to still say it helped him find his voice as a drummer, it's so..effortless and elegant. Poignant like Marco Minneman, I'd say.
@@vodalavoid I definitely think that Tosin did the clean leads and Misha did the Meshuggah Djenty stuff but its hard to tell. If I didn't know it I'd think this was a new AAL song with Javier and Matt.
I had forgotten about these Tosha Abasoor songs. So noice.
Hope they do more soon
Tosha Abasoor LOL

Toshin Manbasi

Nerd culture is what's saving rock and roll. This is living proof.
Well yes because it's intelligent music.
imagine how beautiful your mind must be to compose something like this
A damn gifted mind yessir
yes
Music is, like so many things in life, misinterpreted. Music is never competition with another, unless voluntarily agreed upon. Music is a competition with the oneself. Each and every sentient being interprets their reality differently. Music is the strive to better oneself, not see who is better than someone else.
a truer word ne'er were spake

Blessed be thou, who greets us with words of such wisdom.

Periphery as Leaders, Animals as Periphery, Leaders as Animals, Leaders as Periphery... God damn it, now I can't stop!
Thuner Lulz you forgot Periphery as Animals :D
Animy as Peripherals
i feel like im about to meet my creator
me too bro
The science of evolution and the laws of this universe that governs entropy is what made me..
Dave Winston fucking hell lmao I feel you dude. a break down by BULB AND TOSIN where do you even go from there besides to your creator?
Exactly my feelings lol
Did you resolved your health issues bro? Go to a doctor
AMAZING these two need to make a whole album.
Technically, AAL debut album is a collaborative work by Tosin and Misha!
I have trouble not listening to this song every day
I agree. First time I hear it and I find it beautiful.
Diego Lafuente This music is absolutely awesome!!!
thats a good trouble to have
Still going at it, are you?
i know i am lol
Dunno why people are shitting on Periphery so much, both bands and both guitarists are pretty damn amazing and they're better than I am. Love them both.
I agree with you 100%.
Robert Harris Fuck off, jeremy wolfe is by far a better musician than Tosin or Misha.
Mad Though u mad bro ?
*****
Just a little butt flustered man, nothing to be concerned about
Mad Though what?
2 of my 4 biggest influences on the guitar as well as John Browne and acle kahney
Misha also helped write some sections of the first AAL album as well, not just with the programming and rhythm guitar, but also giving Tosin some constructive ideas on leads.
These dudes have the most odd style of guitar playing. Its unheard of.
Meshuggah.. the father of this "groove" style of playing.. :)
Juni Lee meshuggah have played probably 6 notes in the whole band's history
Caleb purvis You've never heard a Meshuggah song, have you?
Caleb purvis
ok buddy...
+Caleb purvis you're correct. (I have listened)
This is what happens when the music gods have a baby.
It's so obvious to see who wrote which riff...and that misha produced it
Every night when I got to sleep I wish we got more music exactly like this. Sooo awesome!
Still jamming this 2021 💜
This song is actually so good that I tested in some very old earbuds that have nearly no bass, and this song even in 360p delivers a subtle yet suitable form of backing bass.
Talk about Optimism, this is a hopeful overlook.
Still coming back to this
Can't wait to finally see Animals as Leaders in August. So pumped.
Did your brain dance?
It was a smart move for them to just use a computer for drums. I mean just imagine choosing between the gods of prog metal drumming. Halpern and Garstka. Which coincidently are both named matt haha. Don't even think of splitting them like halpern for optimist and garstka for pessimist because it would just become one perfectly awesome drum battle other than become a song
Halpern drummed for AAL for a bit didn't he?
Yeah but i think the entire debut album of AAL is programmed tho
They didn't use a real drummer because it costs money to record drums and it takes a fair amount of time to mic everything up and get the right sound. I bet they recorded this for 0 dollars since misha has such a good setup at home.
I think Halpern wrote most of the drums for AAL iirc
Chop Matt Halpern and Matt Garstka in half and sew them together to create one super Matt called "Matt Halpstka".
Listening to this while I sat on the toilet was an interesting experience, to say the least.
They seriously need to do an album together.
Awesome track. Meshuggah and Hum just had a baby in my ears.
pretty sure if jesus had to choose a sound track to go with the rapture it would have been that intro
this might be the best thing i've ever heard
What do you think about tesseract?
druminnigga i've listened to them they are pretty good
Still jamming both of these in 2023
I cant stop listening to this song
I love Misha (if thats even him) at 0:23 in the background it really colors that riff beautifully.
mm very Periphery-ish yet... very AAL-ish
Quite.
These are the sounds I've been looking for
why am i just now finding this gem of collaborations
Thanks for uploading these. Can't wait to see these two at the Summer's Laughter tour.
Please release this in high res audio format (FLAC, ALAC, WAV, etc.)
Listening to this on 1.25 speed hurts my brain.
***** All the boners breh
***** That riff probably was the work of Misha.
Josiah Harmon listening to it at .50 speed hurts more
Elliot McConnell you mean g r o o v e s more
Josiah Harmon It's like a rush of cocaine with a drink of red bull after.
Yessss, finally new music from them!! I've been waiting to hear more from these two since waves of babies! Must have mooaarrr
This is the duality of chaos and order in balance. Sick
Godlike
The Uploader has the best Username ever.
+Peter Sotham whatcha say asswipe
This sounds exactly like they were trying to mix both their sounds together. Perfect collaboration!
this is just so amazing...I pray to god that they do more
This music is basically Jazz-Fusion with a metal overtone..first check groups: The Mahavishnu Orchestra..Return To Forever....Weather Report...Headhunters... etc...
I over came something in my life wile I was listening to this. Never forget it. Changed my life.
tijuana_ tony hey it's me. Woo
Hey there's my old acount cant get back into😅
This is some genuinely great music. It's honestly one of my favorite songs by both musicians, and it's made even better by the fact that they worked on this song together.
why am i just hearing this? eargasm.
kinda wished that the joy of motion would sound more like this
Weightless was underrated amiright...
TheRCat Weightless changed the way I looked at music.
shredward And their newest album. I want them to go back to their roots with Misha
Absolutely Djentgasm.
I love this the music flows and breathes so well
Pretty Gdamn perplexing and baffling.
I heard tosin play the 1st n 3rd riff on an acoustic7 in another video long before this song was released. sick to hear with the distortion
I suscribed to this channel purely because you told me not to.
+Hockeymat79 HAHA SHAME ON YOU >:)
This is actually incredible, this brought tears to my eyes. Thank you.
I've only listened to the first 3 tracks and so far so good. I've also listened to the other tracks with Misha and Tosin...those are badass!
I'm not the first to say this in the comments but get Devin Townsend on vocals for this.
this!
vocal in progressiv metal is shit
@@karaskrulszczupakow4046 Maybe, but Devin transcends.
these guys should give us backing tracks!!! that fkn riff at 1 10 is fkn powerful
probably two of the best tracks ive ever heard. wow.
Wow!! my ears love this
Haters guna hate peeps chill. Rock on AAL AND Periphery!!!
The gods of progressive metal are Misha, Tosin and Petrucci
The fact is that periphery isn't prog, just djent
Realmetaldom if you think that Periphery isn't progressive then you are actually a spoon
I mean they were progressive, spoon...
Biophonism Exactly dude :)
what about Fredrik Thorndahl man?
It's so great hearing two artists collaborate like this, it's so fun being able to distinguish the different writing styles.
love it !!!!
THIS is how it sounds like when 2 gods play some beautiful and powerful music, so idk why you are reading this in the comments, just fking listen to the song bro
Drumming sounds like Halpern. God this is great.
GhostConstruct it’s either Halpern or an extremely early version of GGD
@@jacobgranigan5979 superior drummer i think
bloody perfect!!
The opening riff / verse is one of the best one i´ve ever heard.
Periphery as Leaders lol
For those who are wondering, no the drumming isn't real, its done on superior drummer,
+CHUN “jVj A G N U jVj” BUNS Still sounds good
Yeah sounds decent. I use it myself
in
Animals as leaders do have a drummer. So would depend, On if they used AAL's drummer or what you said!
This isn't AAL though, It's Mischa and Tosin.
Both Misha and Tosin go HARD in everything!!! ** mic drop*
this is so epic! great job to Mishameister and the Tosinatior!
repeat repeat repeat!!!
My dream will became true when i see these animals playing in a periphery
If you know what i mean
That was so whack dude
Damian Conde HAHAHAHAHA
Someday these animals will become leaders of the periphery
Two of the most creative guitar players ever.
Sick. Groovy hard jams.
Eargasm.
Periphimals.
I swear this song is transcendental
przepiękny numer
thoes 55 unlikes tho... haters gonna hate
Moshin Abasoor
I could get lost in this masterpiece for days.
i just cried tears of joy
kinda like satch n vai but more exciting
Don't be a pessimist, be an optometrist!
Mind = Blown!
i love this! very impressive!
Where can I buy this?
animals as leaders isnt prog metal. its a genre within itself. no one else uses chord qualities from baroque era classical music and advanced jazz in their metal. only tosin aka god.
haha didn't I see you on an AAL video saying this? You check out Arcturus yet?
Look up Tony MacAlpine. The late 80s and early 90s had a lot of this kind of thing around. The time signatures were generally more basic but the chords and progressions were based on baroque and other "classical" eras. There were jazzy elements depending on the player. I think once you stray from the basic approaches to any music that inevitably there begins echoes of jazz. Also the genre was called neo-classical. Shrapnel Records was putting a lot of it out. Tom Varney was, I believe, the owner and major proponent of the shredder movement. Not trying to be a know it all, I just sense that you give a shit and knowledge is power. That said Tosin is sick.
Aaron Hooper xD
insane combo of guitarists
the sound of dancing 8 strings is magical
urinating the crowd tho
Reminds me Deftones.
Miguel Batalha it’s like Deftones on player difficulty level: impossible
i could def listen to a few albums of this
I love how clearly you can hear which guitarist plays what parts sometimes
This sounds more like a result of Tosin giving Misha a lesson..
+SstalkerS Actually, I've heard that Misha taught Tosin
+Kacper Wiśny Misha produced for Tosin.
Dogukan Çil That's correct, but i heard he also taught him
+SstalkerS Why does it even matter?
They actually co-wrote a lot of the first AAL album.
So much over analysis of everything all the time. It's so boring. This persons name. That persons name. That's the worst thing music can do is make you think of this guy or that guy in a room playing his certain brand instruments with this mic or that mic or this rack or that rack. Why do people have to destroy everything with their analysis? It's a great track. Makes me want to listen again. It takes you on somewhere. Really cool track. Actually brilliant!
Its so cool to listen to the combination of misha's and tosins style
this is sick!!!
