I am a solo performer of 50 years. This is my favorite Billy Joel song. What a wonderful song. Your rendition is so emotional and I believe captures Billy's original intent.. thank you
This is absolute beautifull , u hit the heart full on bless u, we need musicians and vocalists like u desperately these days, top draw Nikko, thank u, ♥️👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Just exceptional. Tim, I know you're a really talented musician but it's that combined with the technical know-how and your beautiful handling of guitar as an instrument. I'm at home alone this afternoon so I've got this cranked up at concert volume. I can safely say I haven't heard better in auditoriums filled with thousands of people. Just love the chiff of those nails on clean steel strings. Magnificent.
I closed my eyes listening to this simply so I focus purely on the audio and wow what a beauitful cover. Your vocal, phasing, playing and pitch are perfect. What else stands out is that you innately undertsand this song requires restraint in it's playing and you did so exceptionally. Sincerely very impressed and grateful you shared this. Beautiful and heartfelt.
I'm going to cover this one, but I know I won't be able to match it. This is the version of the song I would dream to do. I do not have the technical guitar ability at this point, but I'm going to still do it with the sensitivity it deserves. Wow, what a great version, I'm blown away.
My favorite song by Billy Joel is "And so it Goes " . You Nailed it Kid ! Beautifully Played on Guitar as opposed to piano. Your Vocals are great. Just loved it.
Ahh man, My friend Aidan introduced me to that song and Tommy. Aidan is looking down on us now. Thank you, this video and your amazing talent has brought back some special memories tonight
That was nice! Very, very nice! It is quite evident that you feel these lyrics in your soul and that you wish to share your heartfelt feelings. Thank you for sharing your talent
Bravo! Well done sir. I did not think a guitar could carry this song but you proved me wrong. A beautiful cover and a beautiful tribute to this heartfelt song.
In every heart there is a room A sanctuary safe and strong To heal the wounds from lovers past Until a new one comes along I spoke to you in cautious tones You answered me with no pretense And still I feel I said too much My silence is my self defense And every time I've held a rose It seems I only felt the thorns And so it goes, and so it goes And so will you soon I suppose But if my silence made you leave Then that would be my worst mistake So I will share this room with you And you can have this heart to break And this is why my eyes are closed It's just as well for all I've seen And so it goes, and so it goes And you're the only one who knows So I would choose to be with you That's if the choice were mine to make But you can make decisions too And you can have this heart to break And so it goes, and so it goes And you're the only one who knows
Absolutely gorgeous cover. I found myself loving your playing and hoping that your voice would deliver as well and it DID!! I can't figure out why this video only has 2, 495 views at this point. Makes me wonder if I could get into this song on my guitar. Thanks for sharing!! Best wishes!
I am working on accompanying a quartet from my choir on guitar. My musical director asked me to come up with an introduction, so I have managed to fashion something close to yours, but capoed at the 4th fret. I love the way that it hints subtlety at the tune. The tab is a bit rough n ready timing wise, but folk are welcome to a copy so that they can knock it into shape!
ha! That intro was mostly unintentional; I started improvising an intro, and when I tried to start the piece, I accidentally played the wrong notes and turned it into more of the intro... I'll take "subtly hints at the tune" though, over "accidentally played the tune wrong"! Glad it's inspired something for you too!
absolutely fresh and moving.... congrats ! you got the tone. and attitude !...care to share the audio chain? cheers from the other side of the world..!
Hi and thanks! Audio chain is pretty simple - SM58 (on the guitar) and AKG C2000B (vocal) mics, into a Mackie onyx producer 2-2 interface and then Reaper as the DAW. Stock compression and EQ plugins on both mics. Reverb via the free TAL Reverb II plugin. Light compression and limiting on the master track. Video was also done alongside the audio in reaper. Best regards!
That's a wonderful piece. I am a high school student tryin to rlly do more in music and I would love a great advice from a musician. Did you major in music? What & how would you suggest me to learn for me to sing and play?
I didn't study music formally (I did engineering!) but I've ended up working as a music teacher anyway - however, I do regret the missed opportunity to hang out with other musicians and have the time to spend on mastering your instrument. As general advice, your ability on any instrument is almost directly proportional to the time spent playing it - so play play play! Your first few years on any instrument are spent learning mechanical skills, and then you'll begin to develop your musical instincts. In terms of what for you to sing or play, play songs or pieces that excite you or move you - your performances will contain so much more when you do that. Practically, if you want to study music, it's worth spending some time getting familiar with a piano/keyboard - as so much of western music theory is best visualised on a keyboard - but other than that, play an instrument that you think makes nice sounds!

The fact that this doesn't have millions of views baffles me.
Like everyone else, I’m left speechless. I’m so glad I click on this. Thanks for blessing my Sunday afternoon.
Thanks so very much. You took me to a place that only a rare few have ever done in my 71 years. Again…. Thanks.
You are extremely talented. Well done.
Really fantastically played and sung. Your audience will cry!
I'm not crying, just...
magnificent, beautiful, masterful... i'm floored
Man, I don't think you even realize how good you are. This hit straight to the soul. Amen Brother.

Man you nailed it.Absolutely amazing rendition. Inspirational!! Thanks for sharing.
Great job ! I just realized how much this sounds like Irish folk music.
Jesus christ that was excellent. Hope people realize how hard it is to do what you’re doing. You make it sound effortless. So clean. 🤙
Wow, thank you! Just don't tell anyone about the other 30 takes...

Thanks - I once got told off for just 'busking' the chords for this song - and it stung me into learning it properly...
Very nice :)
Sounds incredible, great cover 👏
I think I'll give this one a sing myself. Thanks for the inspiration :)
Unbelievable!
Nämen tack. Varför är din potatis så saftig?
@@NikkoFirMusic Idk some potatoes are and some aren't, thats life.

Really awesome man! Just learned Tommy’s version and was thinking of singing with it and here you are doing it.
wow
In every heart there is a room
A sanctuary safe and strong
To heal the wounds from lovers past
Until a new one comes along
I spoke to you in cautious tones
You answered me with no pretense
And still I feel I said too much
My silence is my self defense
And every time I've held a rose
It seems I only felt the thorns
And so it goes, and so it goes
And so will you soon I suppose
But if my silence made you leave
Then that would be my worst mistake
So I will share this room with you
And you can have this heart to break
And this is why my eyes are closed
It's just as well for all I've seen
And so it goes, and so it goes
And you're the only one who knows
So I would choose to be with you
That's if the choice were mine to make
But you can make decisions too
And you can have this heart to break
And so it goes, and so it goes
And you're the only one who knows

Beautiful all around - guitar arrangement, singing performance - really well-done and moving.
Wow, that was absolutely beautiful. Besides your voice, that guitar sounds magical! May I ask which brand it is?
Thanks! It's a Martin DX1CE - not particularly expensive or well looked after but it's my tool of choice.
Beautiful, touching and moving.
Good job brother. I was wondering how few the views are. Putting together the works of TE and Billy Joel is more than amazing.
thanks man!
So heartfelt 🙏🏻
Beautiful. I've been trying to learn this. I hope to do credit to it as you have done. Beautiful!
