I had the pleasure and honor of seeing him perform yesterday, February 4-25, in Tampere, Finland, and all I can say is that he is an incredible talent. No orchestra, no background tapes, just a man and a guitar and what he can do with it. Hats off and a deep bow, definitely one of the best guitarists the country has ever worn. Thank you Tommy for your music.....
What a show, I think Tommy Emmanuel is the greatest living acoustic guitarist on Earth. I agree with what many others have mentioned, not many out there play guitar with the same amount of emotion and feeling as Tommy does. Not to mention what a repertoire of different tracks in his set, closing with Smells Like Teen Spirit? Legendary
Do whatever you have to do to see this guy live before it's too late. They don't make em like Tommy anymore folks, trust me on this one. He WILL bring tears to your eyes!

It is this kind of playing that got me fascinated with guitar. I was amazed that this one instrument could do all it did. Fifty years later, after fifty years of pursuit, I guess I can do about 5% of what Tommy does.

Anyone can make an electric guitar sound good with enough pedals just pluck an open string and it'll sound good but to pick up an acoustic guitar sound really good is another thing but he does it better than anyone else

It's been maybe 40 years since you hooked me at a park bench in Gatlinburg. You were perfect...and have only improved.
