You can’t stop at the first no! Sounds like Mark took that to heart. Good stuff. Getting blindsided is one thing. And that sucks. No one likes it when people don’t get things done and don’t let you know that the deadline won’t be met. Ignoring what you know to be true to move through the whirlwind, that’s just being smart. Very zen: your disadvantage makes you stronger. Common sense: do the shit you need to do. My inconvenience is going to be leaving early today so I can go to my daughter’s puppet show. Not the most earth shattering event to most people but it’s important to here and thus me. But that means I have more work to do to just stay even for work. That cuts into the time I budget for my projects. So that means I have to shave time here and there. But 15 minutes a day will get me an extra hour. A little less f’ing off at work will give me another 2 and I should be able to finish 2 projects. You know how when you go on vacation it’s so much work because you jam so much into so little time. That’s the plan here. For an owl puppet. The best owl puppet.
I have three projects that need to be done by this Friday for a big conference. They came to me a little late in the game but I said I will make it work. Kinda like your guy promising the video. I know how important this is for them because they want to show their stuff. So I’m working long, focused hours to get it all done.
Thank you for half-introducing us to your videographer, Mark. Let's see Mark. This week, I am going to prove in the literature review, that mindfulness, minus the mechanics of meditation, yoga posing, & body scans, is an experience and can be learned from a rock, by aligning it with the axioms and postulates of the integrated information theory put forth by Giulio Tononi.
The thing I'm learning lately is that it might take years of investment to accomplish something really important to you. So for me, I've been working on several projects during my spare time, and just learned I might need to do even more to make it work. So this week I'm going to commit to finishing a UA-cam animated video. If I can finish one per week, my channel might begin to take off. But again, it's a long-term investment.
I'm going to produce double the amount of content that I normally do for a client that I have on retainer to help him smash through the 1MM views/month on his Quora profile.
Thanks for your erudite reply. It truly helped bring another level to this conversation and will be a lesson for anyone lucky enough to come to this page for some insight.
Brilliant Derek. Stay with it and keep improving every day. Love iT!
Yes! We need to have a more critical eye looking at ourselves and the world. Go the extra mile and get the job done!

I will give my clients extra design mockups when presenting them with ideas.
Head Down, Bum Up?
Okay, I'll bite: I'm not going to eat lunch until I finish the last 20% of this project I've been procrastinating on.
