Delta Airlines 737-900ER Takeoff Out of Atlanta, Georgia

I had a 2:18 minute Flight form Atlanta to austin In First-Class seat 4A
There was not a meal served in First, but there was a snack basket passed around. Not much to say

The lighting on the engine cones is HEAVENLY. I had the same first class window seat on the opposite side (4F) going from NY to Jamaica and the lighting wasn't on my side as it was on yours.....LOVE THE VIDEO...LOVE THE ENGINE SOUND.

I miss the days when all you saw at ATL were 727's, L-1011's and (from other airlines) DC-10's landing and taking off from Hartsfield. Those were the good ole days.

I know some airlines at certain airports use only one engine to taxi but how much of an inconvenience would it be if you were next for takeoff and it didn't start lol. You would have to taxi all the way back to the gate.

Single engine taxi saves a lot of fuel. The crew starts the last engine a few minutes before they expect takeoff clearance. ATC knows this and if the guy at the head of the line can't go they know if they pull the 3rd or 4th guy for an intersection takeoff they'll need 2-3 minutes. It's very rarely a problem and it controls cost.

How do these single engine taxi work??? I tried it in X-Plane 10, and I couldn't do it!!! Every time I apply thrust, the plane veers to the left! (I had right engine running)
