Using spinning gear, when you're hooked on a big fish you want to be able to pull with your strong arm and reel the slack line with your weaker hand. That's why the right-hand setup has the reel for your left hand. Conventional reels have more torque so you can reel right-handed.
If you're not comfortably reeling left handing then don't. No reason to switch hands after x number of years fishing one way. Also what are you doing that leaves your left arm so weak? Tf?
Always left-handed (conventional or spinning) when I use my arm to pull the rod. Right-handed conventional reels for big game (50lbs up) to use in a fighting chair or stand-up harness.
Dream high! . a friend told me sarcastically you can put your wishes in one hand and crap in the other then wait and see which hand gets filled first. . I think he got it from some movie
When you guys are making fun of each other and gave each other a hard time is why fishing is so fun. I really like this live UA-cam video. Don't worry your crew will get used to fishing with the handle on the right side.
you should do a video of how to rig your line when you catch different fish and what line to use and whats the best reel to use for each fish you catch.
I'm ambidextrous, so it doesn't matter to me which hand I reel with. But, my left arm is stronger and that's what hand I reel with. Josh is right. Even using a fly rod or centerpin for trout/salmon, left hand on the reel, right hand on the rod, above the reel
I started using both hands after I realized different techniques require different levels of power. So I reel in left hand for lighter setups, and right hand for heavy stuff
Lots of conventional reels have left hand retrieves. I'm totally there for that conversation about left vs right handed reeling. Go watch wade fishermen for trout/reds, how many cast with their right arm, then switch the reel over to the left and reel with the right. How about just cast with your right and keep it there.
I went shark fishing 10yrs ago I had planned and packed everything for a nice catch &cook as soon as I got there I casted my big pole out then unloaded everything else out of my car at 13 min after I got to my favorite spot I was carrying an arm load of stuff back when I heard my clicker just SCREAMING like never before so I dropped everything got to my pole and fought that beast for over an hour it was a 120lb batray my arms were dead/ useless after that. So I just slept on the rocks the rest of the day while my brother caught 3 small shark's then a Bat Ray at least 20 lbs heavier than mine he was done fishing after that monster so we were both done fishing. I was pissed off / jealous because he was able to fish for a few hrs and all's I could do was get sunburnt and watch him having fun. I had planned on catching my main course for dinner ((DENIED)) it was a long and hungry ride home
Right handed people, as you look down from the rod to the spinngin real, the handle is always on the left, for left handed people you switch it to the right. That being said, every level wind, such as the Penn International, the shimano Tiagra (in my opinion this is as good as it gets ( i have not ever fishing with a Fin Nor, but I still venture to say Shimano is king).
Nice Josh! Would love to see some surf fishing and land based shark fishing like the good old days. Remember the days of posting on extremecoast fishing forum?
I’m a recent subscriber and enjoyed the fishing but after seeing the way you treated the young guy, disgusting you really showed your true character there. I couldn’t believe how disrespectful you were to him telling him he’s been in the way all day…
Why do you break off so often? I've been fishing for 20 years or so and only broke off something like 10 times total in my life catching 7-8 foot long sturgeon.
Either side. But, right side reel is more comfortable on casting with my left hand. And I am right handed. Do not cast and reel with the same hand. Cast with one and reel with the other.
Could never fish with this dude... to much of a type A personality man!!
Demands full attention and knows everything..
7:55 lol
John Jacob@ he's kinda supposed to be center of it since its His youtube Channel 😂
@@emilhansen6743 i guess I watch to see fish not people, I mute the videos it helps.
He's a beta pretending to be Alpha. Anyone of his support crew would be a more interesting host than this midget.
Blacktiph I just love how they never clickbait
I appreciate the big fish You Guy’s bring Us but it’s sooo much better to see You having fun!!!
Saw you today by the marina, was gonna ask if they finally let y’all out of prison.😂

Conventional reels must be left hand also in this case. Sorry you are wrong.

Keep dreaming
Sounds like a lame goal
John Evans. It happened this day
I’d last about 30 seconds in a boat with somebody that grabbed my rod during a fish retrieve.
@@chameefishing735 He came off as a complete tosser this video. "Go under me! Go over me! Don't touch it! You're in the way!" Spoiled gobshyte
Yep, guy comes off as a massive tool -- "your only job is to not cut me off!" He might be going for a bit of a swim if I'm the other guy.
@@robbrenchley5815 You sure about that? His boat, his equipment, his channel, his fishing spot.

" Your" wreck names, that's funny josh....
Left handed reeling on the spinner for sure if your righthanded. Got better lifting with your stronger arm

Dude in Denmark we reel with the left hand!

Good brother 👍
Uhhhh my hands itching ...i wanna go fishing so badly
Why do you break off so often? I've been fishing for 20 years or so and only broke off something like 10 times total in my life catching 7-8 foot long sturgeon.
They're fishing directly above a shipwreck. They always either swim into the shipwreck and cut the line or get eaten by sharks
Top !
Spinning on the left, conventional on the right
Great video, are you fishing in the Gulf of Mexico too?
Everyone made fun of me and my comment was hearted
Roseann White I was one of em 😂😂
I take back what I said.
John Evans why
Reeling em in why? Why what? Why do I exist? Why am I named this? Why do my friends not care about me? Why am I so insecure about myself? Why what?
I went fishing last night I caught a pike eel 6kg 5kg
It was huge btw
Right all day
Had you go fishing here in México? Wheres is the best place here in México you had went fishing
