I like the way you completed that brake job on that Jeep, and replacing parts which would get worst if not replaced. Those calipers was in bad shape and needed replacing badly, and the customer will appreciate the work you put into getting their vehicle running right.

Thanks for this. The Allen wrench size needed is 7 mm. Recommend an allen head socket as they are very tedious to remove by hand especially if gummed up. Also, getting the clip on is very tricky. I found the best way to get it on without bending it too severely is to put one side in it's hole, then with the vice grip tool (or similar) hold the other side in the other hole and use a handheld pick tool to drag the clip end down and under the bracket to set it. Was a real pain without those tools and techniques, but simple with them.

Good advice about checking the master cylinder brake reservoir to avoid a big mess.

Like how you did a edit cut on the brake clip when you were tapping it in. I see the screw driver and poof the clip is in. Those things are a pain in the ass to get in without deforming the clip tension.

at 1:55 you say you might need "this" to push the brake pad in. What exactly is "this"? I can see it clearly but I have now idea what it is, and I don't think I have seen anything like it before.

I'm in a hotel with slow internet so 19 minutes of video is taking forever to buffer. I'll have to skip ahead but I wanted to stop by and say hi. :)

Jim, it’s too bad that you cut the video showing how to get those caliber clips back on. I have struggled for the last two hours to get those stupid clips back in and now my JGC has been sitting on the jack stands all this time and I’m worried about someone else getting hurt because I don’t know the TRICK to getting those damn clips back on. Not my new clips looks as beat up as the old ones. Maybe you can do a separate video just for remounting these clips alone.

You don't mention it but.. I'm sure you know this but have done so many of these things it's second nature and you forget about mentioning it.I always put a piece of 2X4 under the pedal so it doesn't come near the floor.. .. running the master cylinder passed it's usual travel can have injurious effects...lots of build up there.. same with bleeding if you don't have an auto bleeder and you have someone pumping for you...
Hi... love your videos... however if I was doing what you do for a living... don't think I would take the time.. has to be a pain.. Thank you for your free wisdom..
Do these parking brake shoes ever wear out ?
