    If you’re confused, you’re probably trying to learn too much stuff at once. I know it’s frustrating to not know everything, but even the biggest trees were little saplings at one point, and it needs time to grow.
    First, learn scales. They’re groups of eight keys that you play that sound really nice together. Ever heard of C Major or E Minor? That’s what a scale is. I suggest you learn C Major and G Major to understand what I’m talking about.
    If you know scales, learn chords. Chords are groups of three keys in a scale you press at the same time. Press the first, third and fifth key of your favorite scale at the same time, and you’ll make a chord! Chords are named after the scale they’re in, so keep that in mind when someone mentions a specific chord.
    I don’t know enough about chords to say much else, but I hope that helps
    I hope this helps someone like me who’s struggling. Life’s better when you slow down and relax. It’s okay to suck, let’s enjoy being crap while we still can

    Dude, thanks very much. I'm 29 years old and I decided to learn piano, most videos kept throwing around musical jargon which did not make sense to me, I now understand what playing in a certain key actually means and I know know what a chord progression means, I was almost ready to sell my keyboard but I'm definitely going to continue learning, thanks a lot man, you have new subscriber.

    He explains it very well!
    To those who are confused (I empathize, I was like that a year ago), I'd advise you look into the basics of music theory... the roman numerals refer to Scale Degrees. The formation of a chord will differ from key-to-key--the key being the basis (with music, context is everything). For example, in Cmajor I (tonic) chord is built on the 1st degree as the 'root' of the cord... (C-E-G).
    By him saying "It wants to land on 'C' on the end", he is likely referring to the chord progression (resolution) of cadence, to finish the section (perfect cadence finished on chord I). More often than not (take note that there are pieces that don't adhere to this rule, also), you can tell what key a piece is in, by looking at what note/chord it ends on. Whether that be C maj or Amin respectively.
    This is all in the context of Ioanian mode, too.

    I have some question, and maybe it is so basic (pardon me, im a newbie). On I-V-vi-IV when I is F major, why IV is Bb? I thought IV is B major

    • @r.u.s.e3586
      @r.u.s.e3586 2 роки тому +1

      I'm not very good at this either, but you might be mixing up minor and major chord progressions. For minor progressions the iv is a minor chord, but for major chord progression the IV is a major. B flat can be a major or minor chord. Don't ask me why it's so confusing cause I have no clue.

    how come on guitar chords are like 6 to 4 notes a chord but on piano its different ?

    • @soundfly
      @soundfly  Рік тому

      You can play the same chord in a few different ways. That's because it's the same chord no matter what order you play the notes. So, for example, the notes C, E, and G are a C major chord. But you can also play C, C, G, C, E, G in that order and that's STILL a C major chord! So on piano, you often play a C major with just three notes (although you can play it with more), while on a guitar, you'll just repeat a couple notes since you have more strings. In the most common way to play C major on guitar, you play C twice and E twice.

      As explained by the following commenter : Meryl Keioskie :
      "By him saying "It wants to land on 'C' on the end", he is likely referring to the chord progression (resolution) of cadence, to finish the section (perfect cadence finished on chord I). Believe that Jesus Christ is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead. Repent of your sins; repent simply means to turn away from your sins, don't keep doing the wrong things you did in the past. Be baptized; a symbol that the old sinful self is gone and a new creation is here in Christ Jesus. Follow the specific will of God for your life and you will be saved. I don't know you or what you've been through, but you matter. God loves you and so do I.
