Actually given this car's accelerator pedal has been described as needing the touch of Lionel Messi's foot, I think it's quite a challenge keeping the revs and dumping the clutch just right. The first takeoff was very good though. She accelerates so smoothly off the line. As good as any RWD could do.

@@marklittle8805 No. Anything that is likely to break traction and have the rear end step out is more likely to be recovered with 9 and 3 under some sets of circumstances, but it certainly isn't a requirement
@@marklittle8805 Absolutely you better be ready to react. But your reaction speed isn't effected by your hand position. In fact, in some cars you can for sure spin the wheel lock to lock faster with just a single palm on the wheel, almost as if you had one of those steering knobs that were popular in the 1950s. The 9 and 3 thing isn't about reaction speed. It's about superior precision and control for inputs that are unlikely to require more than 180-degrees in either direction. You better be ready to react any time you risk losing traction regardless of hand position. If you're flying around a road course well, you're near the limit of traction a lot, regardless of your horse power level. My 192-hp (at the crank) Exige moves around A LOT on the track. You've got to be so ready that you're actually EXPECTING it to happen, and in fact USING a little slip intentionally to help rotate the car.
It's equivalent to 7th gear. The regular 6th can hit the same 240 mph Vmax as the F1. But the touring 6th goes way beyond 300 mph, so it's over geared for cruising on the road. I still think it can pull despite that. The owner must have backed off.
The car is normally a 5spd. Most drivers have optioned an extra long 6th gear for cruising. It’s top speed in that gear is technically 226mph, but they only know because they legally have to test it for ABS programming. The 6th gear isn’t there for top speed in this car.

Already in this video the T50 shows it's faster than the F1. But Andy Wallace set some incredible acceleration numbers on the F1 XP5 with the rev limiter removed.

For street cars yes. For racing, not even close. Formula 1 had 300hp/Liter NA's so there's much more on the table. That's like T.50 having 1,200 HP with no turbos!
There are a few video example now, this included, with onboard footage - WHY does the engine/powertrain/chasis develop this shuddering/stuttering/misfiring kind of vibration sound in like 5th/6th gear - only there at high speeds?? Also very evident in the Top Gear onboard with Dario driving
I've noticed that too. I thought it was just something on the prototype but it seems to be the production versions too. It starts in the fourth gear when you get enough revs.

For an RWD car, it launches incredibly well to 100 kmph and pulls like a hypercar beyond. I know everyone's short shifting first few gears, even Dario.
It's a manual, not easy to launch like today's DCTs, and he short shifted at 80 kmph, so there's half a second in there. It was actually a very good launch. The T50 will do the numbers, but it was never about them.

I'm sure the t.50 is an amazing car to drive, I'll certainly never have the money needed to find out. But visually, the Koenigseggs are much more dramatic and special looking to my eye.
@@sebw3964The fact that the AMG is faster does not mean that it is better than the T50, in addition the AMG has many more aids, even to launch the car from 0 to 100, the T50 is manual, clearly the AMG will be faster because it is a gearbox of pedals, but the amg does not have something that the t50 does have, and that is personality and soul, many cars today no longer have that, and very little originality is also seen to no longer exist, the t50 can be differentiated from almost all supercars today.
T50 won’t be the fast car out there is wasn’t made for that but won’t be far behind, but oh my that engine noise 12100rpm V12, T50 is the best car to go 280kph(or any speed) it’ll smoke any car for driver engagement and thrills.

@@r129r16pfl Well Dario says 100 mph is at 3000 rpm in the touring 6th (aka 7th). That means it's ridiculously overly long. The ratio is 0.595.
