The 1st E51 was the 1965 Crown. It was played by 2 twin Engines. While on location at station 127, E51 was E127. When filming at Universal, E51 was E60, which was the station at Universal Studios. It was remembered Station 51in 1994 in honor of the show. The 1965 Crown E51 in the museum is E60 from Universal. E127 was totaled some time in the mid 1980's in as serious MVA. At that time it was being used as a reserve Engine.
I generally only watch these to see the Ward LaFrance. Ward is the company that put food on my table as a kid growing up. Saw the truck when it was in Yosemite National Park. They were the best looking rigs bar none.
Evansville IN had 3 from 1973 until the late 90's. Cummins engine with manual tranny. They were all 3 Squirts. Fun to be on and were a valuable asset. Only more "true" looking old fire trucks E'ville had were 1974? Pierce pumps or engines. Old screaming Detroits - God I miss those trucks. Too much electric vs mechanical around water!
I have the whole box set of Emergency and I still love watching it today me and my best friend were fanatics we were planning a trip to the firehouse museum but didn't get to go because she passed away
