It’s been a while and I don’t remember the specific name, but if you drive down the coast look for a beach with a pier . I fished to the right of it at the outlet/inlet .
Hey my bradda spoons work great. If the papio are around they will bite alot of presentations. Be prepared to lose a couple spoons and the occasional kaku/barracuda will cut you off. But there are alot of big fish that will hit a spoon. Mahalo nui my bradda
What is the name and size of the Amazon telescopic pole you used? I'll be heading to Kauai next week and want to order one to take. Definitely going to try Hanalei Bay where the river enters the ocean as recommended below.
First time I see anyone catch an Oama on the beach. I live Oahu, went whipping 4 days in a row, caught 3 lizard fish, 2 palm sized papio and 2 lai. SMH. And you catch a 1.5# approx. Omilu in a river mouth 30 ft. wide with an Oama you found on the beach. FML.
Which island ? I used squid . You'll catch alot of shore reef fish. But for the big papio use the bait fish "oama" you can catch the oama near shore. Use small hooks for them and use it as bait. Carolina rig set up. If the papio are there, they'll slam it hard !
Nice vid!
What part of the island is this ? Id like to fish it on my vacation

Nice one! Where’s some good spots in Kauai? Going there next week with my dad and hoping to fish.
Go to hanalei bay. I fished the area where the river connects. Use squid or oama for bait. Good luck !

Hanalei bay!
I just moved here and I'm used to only freshwater fishing. Do spoons work well out here on the beach?
Also do you know good places in kapaa?
Hanalei bay. Haven't tried it so I wouldn't know. But live bait and squid or shrimp works well too.
