Great video. I'd like to see a 500 in civil service one day but the only ones I've seen are either in Topeka or Abilene in Kansas, and those are the 2nd gen. The ones in Los Angeles are the 1st gen.
Nice video! 6:38 I believe Edaan Friedman Climed Up One of these and saw it was Dual Toned so that’s pretty cool, I always thought these were Single Tone like the ones up in Putnam County, OH where I’ve filmed a lot of there sirens
Hi, I am a super super big fan of these walks. Its been 6 months and I am getting kinda worried!! I don't know if maybe you lost access to your UA-cam channel but your videos are really amazing!! Pleaseeeee post soooon
Hey. Thank you for the support! Rest assured I have not stopped going on the walks, just a big life change has taken place this year which has had a major affect on the time I can put into these videos. I'm hoping to have the next one soon.
@@DayTrippingAdventurer Yeah I remember last year or so I could do more if you know what I mean. This year it either seems stuff goes by SO fast or I am just to busy to do some certain things. But again, your videos are truly amazing! I am in the Illinois and don't have all these cool cold war sirens. I have always wanted to visit California.
There's an insanely rare siren that you should see one day, the EOWS-408, it's all the way in Herrin, Illinois there is 3 left standing in the USA, in Herrin, I got a video of one, they look absolutely incredible.
Yeah… There are ATI sirens in Ventura for the Casitas Dam, pretty sure they haven’t gone off yet. Santa Barbara has a Model 2 at a fire department. Pismo Beach along with San Luis Obispo have a siren system for Diablo Canyon NPP. Bakersfield has 3 Darley Champions, but unused. Bishop has Darley Champions which are used, but one is inactive.
Hoped no one would noticed, but it's motivating to know that you do. Work and life has just been needing a lot of TLC recently. I did a walk recently that I still need to edit when I get my computer set again, so more videos will be coming shortly.
this appears to be your first siren trip of 2024, and on january 3rd, a bit before you uploaded this, i actually filmed a cpl french siren sounding off on the first wednesday, and you can find that video right here : ua-cam.com/video/6Cgw9h5-O8k/v-deo.html
Wow....I remember being on vacation here with my bf and his mom and seeing these, all because of him showing me them, LOL
Amazing video, as always!
Hey John been watching you for a while I love rewatching these siren walks can't wait for the next one if there is going to be a next one

The 500s are my favorite, it's always a treat to see them and their some good condition one's in this video.
same. these sirens are relics. it's sad to see them being removed these days.

Do they test these?
Not since the late 80s. They don't even have power connected.
