How nice to have a new episode to watch 😊. I am knitting the Joni by Natasja Hornby, and thoroughly enjoying it. It's the first time I'm using Malabrigo Susurro, which has such a lovely feel as I'm knitting with it. An exciting day ahead...my 7yr-old granddaughter has wanted to learn to knit, and today is the day! Unexpectedly, her twin brother will be joining in, too! It's going to be a fun morning ❤. I'll have to read James...you're the second person I've heard recommend it. A book that has stayed with me since I read it a few weeks ago is The Spoon Stealer, by Lesley Crewe...I highly recommend it. I'm wanting to try knitting socks holding fingering-weight with a mohair. Evidently the silk in the mohair gives strength instead of using Nylon. Also, bravo for mentioning going peat-free 👏 🙌
Hi, Sandra! I can see from Insta that you are knitting a lot! I love the Joni. I have some Susurro that I bought last summer so I'll be interested to see your version. You are the second person to recommend The Spoon Stealer! I did knit some socks with a yarn that was wool spun with some mohair and I have to say that so far they are holding up really well. The yarn was also a little bit thicker than the usual sock yarn, but then comparing the weights of superwash and nonsuperwash sometimes feels like comparing apples and oranges.
Sandra, after I responded to your comment I saw that another viewer recommended Fleece and Harmony's Point Prim Sock yarn, which is 20% mohair in place of nylon. They're from PEI, so it would be easier for you to get perhaps, than it is for me.
@northwestknitting5993 I do have Point Prim and it makes fabulous socks ❤. Please have a look at their UA-cam channel, I'm sure you would thoroughly enjoy it. They release an episode every second Friday
Thank you! Framed is such an amazing statement piece and I'm sure it is so fun to work on. There's another design I've seen recently that reminds me of quilts. It's Clint, a shawl by Natasha Hornsby.
Hi Cathy, you have inspired me to knit the Garden Cardigan. Yours is very pretty and just the shade of blue that I love. I just completed the Jethro Cardigan by Tannis Lavellie and am so proud that it turned out well because it took a long time for me to learn how to crochet granny squares and then join them together & knit the sleeves and ribbing. I am a process knitter who loves the finished product! I look forward to your next video! ❤️🧶
Thanks so much! I've been looking at the Jethro and started re-learning how to crochet granny squares, thinking I might try that sweater. "A process knitter who loves the finished product"...that is a good way to say it!
another great episode, Kathy! i put my sock knitting down as your podcast was ending and scribbled the book titles. Thanks for the recommendation. I have knit with Rambler, it is more similar to John Arbonne Exmoor in its elasticity- less bouncy than West Yorkshire Spinners because it’s non-superwash I believe. It makes for light woolly wool socks :)
Hi Kathy, I'm currently knitting socks for my son. He wears size 13 shoes. I've finished up two summer tops, Flex by Heidi Kirrmaier and the Summerline top by Hinterm Stein. I enjoy your podcasts a lot. I live in Arlington, Washington, so I'm going to check out Skagit Woolen Works.
Hi from Cottage Grove 😊 We met at BSG outside the Tumalo yarn booth. I enjoy your podcast very much! I especially appreciated your info on the Garden cardigan. It helped me decide to make it. Yours is beautiful! I just finished the Magna Flora by Alisa Hartzel. I love it and can see making another. Great to throw over a tank or sundress. Made it in a linen silk blend. I would love to try this yarn!😊
Hi, Tammy! Thanks for your kind comments. It was fun meeting you at BSG. Magna Flora is so beautiful! What kind of yarn did you use? I don't have any worsted weight plant fibers, so would have to think about that.
Kathy, your Garden Cardigan is a triumph! It fits you beautifully and I love the pattern....I think I'm going to make one too. I'm with you on socks---I usually have to use a size 0 needle and that makes it so tedious. I'm currently knitting a Lindal Cardigan as part of a KAL with Junction Fiber Mill in Vermont, and what a challenge it is. So happy to have a little rain today....Portland is parched!
Thank you! Isn't this lovely cool weather wonderful? I know we have more hot days ahead, but I'm loving the coolness. That Lindal Cardigan is Wow! I stopped and wondered, how is that done? Good luck with it.
@@northwestknitting5993 Thanks, I need some luck. It's all short rows, some wrap and turn, some German. Each area is a "shape" and the pattern is 27 pages!
I have been knitting the Salish Cap for the first time. I’m already on the second hat. It’s super easy and mindless and produces a hat that fits many different heads. It’s also a marled stash buster. Thanks for keeping me company while I sat knitting.
Love your projects in this episode, Kathy. I'm knitting with some Tumalo Fiber Ghosttown too, and it is wonderful! I like your minimally-tassled amren a lot; made me take another look at that pattern. Hope you are staying cool and all is well with you!
Hi, Wendy! Thanks so much! The Amren is a good smaller shawl. I'm looking forward to going to the coast in a few weeks for some cooler weater (although we've had some lovely weather here lately).
Hello again Kathy, I am very excited to be starting a Lunenburg Pullover this week. The colour work is such fun and very intuitive. I first hears about Skagit Woolen Works from the Hey Brownberry podcast. I hope to try their fibre soon. I am a new spinner and located just to the north. Thanks for the opportunity to enter your giveaway. Congrats on your channel.
I just finished Sari Nordlund’s Book Club Cardigan. It was huge fun. A riot if cables and double moss stitch. Turned out great. Thanks for the episode Cathy
Hi Kathy, I so enjoy when a new podcast pops up in my notifications. We're similar in age, and I admire your energy and spirit and willingness to share all your beautiful knits. This summer I've been working on a couple loose fitting, lacey, layering tops by Irene Lin. I'm presently finishing the Rota Jumper. 🌻
I am currently knitting the Color Work Tee by Amy Sher using Tynn Line yarn. Both the designer and the yarn are new to me, and I am so excited by the project that I have been pretty much monogamous with it (which is unusual for me). This is my first time seeing your podcast and I enjoyed it very much. I especially liked your garden cardigan.
Hi Kathy. Thank you for sharing knits and books. I just finished The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store and WOW - what a book!! Really made me think. Im knitting on the Helle Sweater combining different yarns from my wool pantry that I havent been able to find a project for and now it all comes together - so lovely. Hej from Ida in Denmark
I'm in the middle of my Amren shawl and really appreciated seeing your FO! I too usually separate my lace repeats with stitch markers and so far (knock wood) I've managed to work through it without using them - but oh i makes me nervous. Haha! Hope you've enjoyed the last part of August. Your garden sounds delightful! Sorry about the sudden loss of a loved one. :( Take care!
Hi Kathy from NW Montana. I really enjoy your podcast and all your lovely knits. I'm a sweater knitter and have learned so much from all the podcasts I watch. I lived on the OR coast for many years and then lived in Portland for several years so I enjoy hearing all your stories of the Pacific NW.
I am working on the Pressed Flowers cardigan and using Remix light. I was on vacation in June and stopped in at a yarn shop. They had the cardigan hanging as a sample in the shop and the lady who was working insisted I try it on. I was hooked! It is a fun pattern.
Karrie here from Florida. I just found your channel and I’m so happy to be here. I’ve visited many parts of Oregon and have travelled the country more than most. Of all the places I’ve been, Eugene felt like “home” the second I left our car. I would move there if I could convince my husband lol. Anyway, I loved your podcast. Today I’m working on a pair of socks “Mermaid Avenue Socks” by Summer Lee Design Co. and the pattern is so pretty and my yarn choice is perfect for me. I love them so much I might have to make multiple pairs 😊.
Just found you this morning. I have just started backup with knitting, I am having to relearn as I have been I’ll. which has effected my memory. I had about a year and a half ago knitted my first pair of socks. I was so proud of that as all I had ever knitted before was little squares. Have always been afraid I couldn’t do more. But long story short no more excuses I am Determine to relearn 😊.
I wish you the very best in your journey toward recovery. I hope the knitting could help with that, as there is a certain amount of muscle memory. And if you can knit socks, you can really knit just about anything. Thanks so much for watching!
I’m excited about knitting the Laura pullover from The Lamb and Kid. I’ve got some yarn in my stash that will be perfect for it. Id use the giveaway yarn for a colour work cowl or hat.
Hello Kathy… lovely to see your knits and that cardigan is first on my winter knitting. Buttonless! 😊 I’m excited to have made the decision to put a pause on knitting garments for my grandkids until they’re old enough to appreciate them. 😅 Hats/scarfs and mittens are still on their list though. 😉 For now, I’m all about knitting for me 🎉 Hopefully I’ll see my stash go down.
I fully support knitting for yourself. Sometimes a non-knitter will ask who my project is for and they seem taken aback when I say "for me." No one will appreciate it more!
@@northwestknitting5993I know eh! Well, I’ve got about 7 WIPS for myself or my husband (1) but then one of the grandkids (10) is having a birthday or one of my kids (4 + their spouses) … or it’s Xmas, or Easter … so I put my item aside. Well, seeing my 10 year old granddaughter’s newly knitted sweater thrown on the bathroom floor opened my eyes as to the term “knit worthy” 😂
Hi. I love making socks. Always have a pair on the go. Right now I’m having fun knitting a cabled cardigan for my daughter. Would love to try some of that sock yarn.
I am very excited to be putting the finishing touch on my Lento sweater. I like the look of 2 by 2 ribbing. I have enjoyed your videos, your color choices are cool and soothing. I would definitely use this wool for hat and mittens.
Hi Kathy - I visited Astoria when I visited my brother (he lives in Portland) a few years ago. Lovely little town. I’m really looking forward to making that Garden Cardigan! Yours came out great and the color is just lovely. I’m also excited to start making a friend a jumper since I get to meet her in SF in October. She’s in the UK and coming over for a visit. She loves llamas so I’m making a jumper with an alpaca on it I think it’s called the Alpacacino. Also doing a color work jumper for a friend for the Fall-a Sari Nordlund one (Lume). I miss doing color work so I’m excited to get these on the needles. I put James on my library hold-going to have to wait a while on that one but the story sounds wonderful and I always enjoyed Huckelberry Finn when I read it in the past.
I have been watching your channe! For a long time! I have been knitting since I was 10 years old and I'm 72. Right now I am working on a rank plus sweater but I just love to knit. Keep coming back.Take care.Elizabeth leonard.
Thank you, Elizabeth! oh, we are about the same vintage. I'm not sure exactly when I got yarn in my hands, but I loved to watch my mother and grandmother getting up to all kinds of crafty things from an early age.
You just came up as a suggested podcast today and I'm so glad to have found you! I thoroughly enjoyed your podcast! After watching the video and seeing your Garden Cardigan I'm excited to move it up in my queue and cast it on!
I really enjoy using up OLD yarn from stash by just adding a ball or two of new yarn. At the moment that means knitting a vertically striped sweater in lime yellow and turquoise inspired by the Visser sweater. Love your Garden Cardigan, i really want to make one! Love from Sweden 💙💛
Hello Kathy, lovely video. Amazing how blue your cardigan is given the greyness of the main yarn! I’m knitting Sea Glass mitts, the yarn is a doulton leicester. I bought it at a local yarn show yesterday (I’m in Bedfordshire UK). I’ve read Longbourne, throws new light onto Mr Wickham that’s for sure, Mandy xx
I just found you and realized we like many of the same patterns! I’m working on the Garden Cardigan right now and I made the Derecho a few years ago. I was buoyed by your admission that even though the lace pattern on the cardigan was easy to memorize, you did make some mistakes. I had to rip out a few rows! I have also made three of Joji Locatelli’s Lone Skein shawls, which is another great pattern for single skein hand dyed sock yarn. I Thank you for your podcast. ❤
Un petit cousou de versailles d ou je vous regarde . Vos ouvrages sont magnifiques et votre anglais tres clair pour une francaise ! Merci beaucoup pour ce partage .
I'm always excited when you post a new podcast. Recently I am knitting the Sabai Top by Paula Strickt. I am enjoying all the summer knits and excited about knitting in pure linen!
Another lovely podcast. I’m really enjoying my current project. It is Andrea Mowry’s Vellichor. I am enjoying the mosaic colorwork. Your scarf is beautiful and that color looks great on you! I bought that pattern and really need to get that on my needles. I live in Maine but my daughter is living in Washington so I always love hearing about area yarn makers.
Thank you so much! I swatched for the Vellichor and really liked my fabric and then somehow never got back to it. Kate Davies has a new top very similar to that with a different neckline and I thought about that one also.
Hi Kathy I really enjoy your podcast. Great content. I’ve been enjoying knitting socks this summer. & the Beloved Bonnet. Congratulations on your podcast
I love your Garden cardigan and have added it to my list! I am currently knitting the Purl Strings top by Heidi Kirrmaier. My second one! I’m making this one in linen. I had a hip replacement last month and it wasn’t successful so I’m having it re-done tomorrow. Frustrating, but it’s giving me lots of knitting time! The yarn you are offering is beautiful! Thank you from B.C.
Love your sock knitting. I am finishing a fingering weight sweater marled. Ready to get back to socks. I would love to try the local to you Skagit wool mill. Enjoyed your content.
Very sorry to learn of Candy Skein's demise, the closest thing to my LYS. Wah! I've still got a few of her skeins in stash, and would have added more had I known.
Hi Kathy. I'm a brand new subscriber. 👋 I loved hearing about your projects and really like your color pallet. Currenly, I'm excited about knitting fingering weight sweaters. They are my favorite to wear, even if they grow slowly.
Hi, Kathy! Just discovered you this morning and have happily subscribed. I knit my first sock 10 months ago and have become a sock knitting fiend! With over 40 hand knit sweaters in my closet, I am excited to have this new, very portable knitting obsession. It's making me very happy. 🙂
I love your blue marled socks. I have the High Desert socks pattern, so maybe I be casting those on next. Right now I'm finishing up the Albini Cardigan by Orlane Sucche. I' m using some fantastic yarn from Woollentwine and the pattern is lovely and straightforward . Always love tuning in to your video when you upload.
Hello Kathy, always a joy to watch your podcast! Such gorgeous blues!💙I’m currently knitting the Batty tee in KFO pure silk on 2.5 mm needles (which is taking me forever 😅). Looking forward to my first autumn knit, which I hope will be Taybern Light sweater. I’ve ordered some beautiful blue yarn for the yoke, and the body will be undyed light grey in a yummy BFL/Shetland/Alpaca blend🧶
Thank you! The Batty looks great and I'm sure you'll be happy to have it finished. I'm so wanting to knit winter things, but I think I'll finally get a summer knit going. My future self will appreciate it!
First time viewer really enjoyed spending some time with you. I am re knitting the suri sweater by caidre this summer , I am not one to pull out and go again but I miss judged my size and made it huge. 😅
Finally caught up. Thanks Kathy, love to see what you're knitting and the colours you choose. I'm knitting a Vibes cardigan by Indiblomst (have already made a sorgenfri after seeing yours), I like her designs a lot. That shade of yarn called Mariner is just gorgeous.
I'm currently knitting the half & half triangle shawl by Purl Soho. I'm enjoying knitting this project. I love the color of my first triangle in juniper green. My second color will be pickle or mushroom. I love your shawl Kathy 👍
Kathy, just made this long ramble and you tube decide to pop on another podcast and delete my comment. Sigh! Love how your Garden sweater and shawl turned out. You are really on a sock roll and I love the pair with the Latvian braid and colourwork. I am knitting socks too-still learning and trying to find the design I like to knit and like the fit. Currently knitting Rib It socks with Fleece & Harmony’s sock yarn which has mohair instead of nylon- it’s a bit thicker and likely could be knit on 2.5 mm needles, which are easier on my hands but still thin enough for socks to fit most shoes. Just knit the Turtle Dove cardigan which has an integrated button band like the garden cardigan. Love it and my daughter is excited to have it for her 50th birthday next week at the lake. Now I am excited to chose a summer pattern for some linen yarn- maybe the Agave or the Joni or Joji’s new tank. So many choices. Congrats on 2000 subscribers. Love ❤️ your podcast.
Thank you! I looked up the Fleece & Harmony yarn, and it sounds very similar to some yarn I used. It was also a bit thicker and very sturdy so far. Turtle Dove Cardigan looks great.
Hi Kathy, I would definitely pop that stitch marker in my mouth! lol. Your Joji shawl is gorgeous. A perfect match of yarn and pattern. I am currently working on Sophie scarfs. Using my scrap yarn to make a few gifts. Very satisfying! Thanks for the book reviews.
Thanks for all the detailed information about your Garden Cardigan. Since I want to knit one without the suggested amount of ease for my size, I am also planning to use a fingering weight yarn held with a mohair. It's such a beautiful pattern and the result of yours is wonderful. The Transatlantic Sock pattern is now in my favorites... I am happily knitting a second Moby Sweater by PetiteKnit and am presently mid length of the 2nd sleeve. It's a present for a close relative so we can be "sweater sisters" ! ❤❤❤
I’m excited to say I am finally knitting The Lunenburg Pullover by Amy Christoffers. I am enjoying the knits and purls of the yoke which has a great bang for your buck. It’s very enjoyable and captivating.
This is the first video I have seen of yours. Loved it and your doing beautiful work😊 I am excited to be knitting the Oban Cardigan right now. I am a new knitter and it is challenging, but very exciting! I love the way it is turning out! I am excited to see your next video!😊
Hi from a new subscriber in the UK! I stumbled across your channel and I am so glad I did. I am enjoying knitting shawls at the moment. Currently on my needles is the Childhood Memories shawl. I really would like to try socks without nylon. I do a lot of walking in Sherwood Forest with my dogs so I am interested to see how well they stand up to that. I love your colourwork socks. 😊
Oh, that's a lovely shawl. I made one pair of socks with mohair in place of nylon and so far they are holding up okay, but I haven't really put them to the test yet. You can't imagine how the idea of hiking in Sherwood Forest tickles me.
Hi Kathy, First time seeing this podcast as it showed up in my feed. I’m recuperating after hip surgery and hoping to get more knitting done than I have these last couple years. I usually knitted for grandbabies or scarves and hats but trying my hand at actually finishing a pair of socks and making a sweater for me! I like the Garden Cardigan and may take a stab at it!
Love the color your cardi ended up Kathy. Amazingly different to what you would expect. I think the cardi pattern is already in my Favourites. Love the cute shawl. Just my size!
Very excited about knitting ribbed cotton socks right now. Found your channel just a week ago. Great giveaway! Looking forward to seeing more of your episodes.
This is Holly from Phoenix. I met you last year at black sheep and this year my friends and I saw you at Kim’s shop. I just blocked my 2nd garden cardigan. I love the pattern so much but probably shouldn’t have done two in a row. Ready for a different pattern. I love knitted socks but don’t like wearing them. I would make mittens with that yarn 😉
Hi, Holly! I've never done two in a row of the same design even though I swear I will sometimes. I'm still not sure I'll love wearing my knitted socks either. Will report back this winter!
Hi! so nice to find you again! Your cardigan is gorgeous! You were needing a little boost for a fingereing weight sweater so wanted to mention a fingering weight summer tee by Tif Neilan called Wild Flowers that I've just finished. It was a lovely pattern and I love the finished knit. I had lost some of my knitting mojo but that was renewed by the Canadian youtubers, Kelly and Noelle of Knits and Pieces. I often find inspiration from them! I love hearing about your book choices. I loved Memoirs of Stockholm Sven that you had recommended, and so have made a note of James for a future read. I'm listening to a wonderful novel called Greenwood by Canadian Michael Christie. It's about the Greenwood family, told from the family's perspective and from other people involved in their lives. It starts in 2034 at an eco lodge where people come to revere the trees which are rare and protected, and then it becomes more interesting as the story artfully moves through generations with a theme of trees connecting the stories throughout. Very interesting!
Hi, Beth! I looked up Wild Flowers and it is a sweet little tee and I'll add it to my list. I do enjoy Knits and Pieces, too! Thanks for the book recommendation. I just finished a very gritty mystery and definitely need a change from that.
Kathy, I love your video podcasts and so look forward to what you’re working on. I’m enjoying knitting the Churchmouse pattern Boxy lace tee in RowanCreative Linen. It’s very potato chippy knitting. I’m also reading James and finding its perspective interesting. I recommend Absolution by Alice McDermott and Peter Attia Outlive. Enjoy the rest of summer!
I was. just recently talking to a friend about great it would be to visit Vancouver again. Such a beautiful city! And then we wondered about knitting festivals or retreats up there.
I love your gentle, unhurried videos. I would love to try a pair of Latvian style socks. I recently bought a book of patterns for them and the giveaway yarn would be perfect.
As for your comment on the arm length and wool, my experience is that superwash or any drapier mix with linen might grow. But firstly, a sleeve, knit or sewn, will develop ellbow pleats that rather shorten the sleeve lenght over time and woolly wools rather keep the form, hence shorten. Its a good idea to give an extra inch for those ellbow pleats and, if the sleeve is rather slim, it might even travel up an arm more than a wider one. Thank you for your wonderful podcast and sharing your experience!😊
I acquired some nice alpaca blend for $5/skein and I'm inspired to knit my grandson a nice sweater. He's A teen so that's the challenge! Wonderful podcast!
I really like KDD. I will have to take a look. I’m not a fan of boatneck on me so may rework it. It’s bottom up so I still have time to figure it out. Happy Knitting.
I’m currently working on 3 pairs of socks and a sweater! I always have socks on the needles, but this is only my third sweater. I am enjoying it immensely, however I am modifying quite a bit as I could not get gauge! it seems to be working out! Also, I wonder if you ever come to Coastal yarns in Cannon Beach? I worked there two days a week but have been off all summer for a knee replacement!
I think I was up there a number of years ago, but when we're going to the coast from our part of the Valley we usually don't get further north than Newport. I love the northern coast.
Thanks for the opportunity to win the lovely yarn! I live in Bellingham, about 30 minutes north of Mt. Vernon, so I am very excited to learn about Skagit Woolen Works! I am very excited about finishing my first baby sweater for my 4-month -old granddaughter for winter. Next is a sweater for her older brother. Wow, small size sweaters go so much quicker than my size! Also finishing a scarf and sock #2 of a set for myself. Love your podcast, thanks for sharing.
Hi from one Kathy to another! I am a rabid sock knitter and would love to be considered for the giveaway. I have met the gals who own Skagit Woolen Works and spun some of their wonderful fiber. They are such great people and it’s so fun to see their business really take off. Thanks for highlighting them ❤
Just found your channel. Love your color palettes and those transatlantic socks are gorgeous. I am a mostly sock knitter and would love to win the yarn you are gifting. I am working on Sumner Lee’s the Little Dots socks. They are so stinking cute!
Hi. Please help me understand why you use waist wool in your garden? Is it that cold where you are....sorry, we don't do this in South Africa, and I'm really curious. Your knitting is gorgeous, especially the colorwork
We don't use wool in the garden here either, at least not yet! But a lot of people are looking at different ways to use wool that is not suitable for garments or rugs, and one of these new ideas is to use it in the garden. As a gardener myself, I can see using wool pellets as a kind of mulch. It's a very new idea, and definitely not mainstream. I've also heard of people trying the idea in the UK.
Thanks for your recommendation of James. Maybe I should go back and read Huck Finn again before I read James. Your sound and video got out of sync about 1/2 to 2/3 of the way thru. No need to fix this for this episode, but maybe figure out why it happened. Maybe it was to do with the fact I upped the speed to 1.25, but that didn't affect your other videos or the beginning of this one. Nice to see you back! I hope your loved one is feeling better and out of the hospital.
Thanks, Linda, for telling me about the syncing issue. I got a copy of Huck Finn to read because it's been so long since I read it, but haven't started it yet.

I did knit some socks with a yarn that was wool spun with some mohair and I have to say that so far they are holding up really well. The yarn was also a little bit thicker than the usual sock yarn, but then comparing the weights of superwash and nonsuperwash sometimes feels like comparing apples and oranges.

Thanks for the opportunity to enter your giveaway. Congrats on your channel.
Hi, Debra! I love Lunenburg and would love to knit another one, maybe as a cardigan.
I just finished Sari Nordlund’s Book Club Cardigan. It was huge fun. A riot if cables and double moss stitch. Turned out great. Thanks for the episode Cathy
That's a beautiful pattern!
Thanks for watching! Irene Lin is completely new to me. She has so many beautiful designs!
Thank you! I'm hoping to knit her Building Blocks cardigan soon.
Ida, I looked up the Helle Sweater and it looks so warm and cozy. It's the kind of sweater I'd be reaching for all the time.
Thanks so much! I so enjoy your podcast!
Thank you! And I've always imagined that if it got too crowded down here, we might go to Big Sky Country.
I am working on the Pressed Flowers cardigan and using Remix light. I was on vacation in June and stopped in at a yarn shop. They had the cardigan hanging as a sample in the shop and the lady who was working insisted I try it on. I was hooked! It is a fun pattern.
I like that design very much and it was so engaging to work on. Shop samples are so wonderful! I love a store with lots of inspirational samples.
Hello! Great podcast! I'm currently enjoying knitting Savory Knitting Pressed Flower Pullover because I've never done modular knitting before.
Thank you! I do love all the Pressed Flowers patterns.
Hi, Karrie! Thanks for your kind comments. Summer Lee has some fun designs and that is a great one.
Oh, a free pattern! The Laura would be a stash-buster for me as I have so much fingering weight yarn I could hold double. Have fun with it!
Love your podcast!! I am also knitting on the Garden Cardigan. Love working on the lace.
I really do love the Lento sweater. It's definitely one that I've worn a lot since I made it.
Thank you! How fun to make sweaters for your friends! I'm always scared about knitting for others, but I'd like to do it more.
The cardigan looks so good, such good choice in yarn combo, in length 🎉❤
Thank you so much!
Thank you!
I love using up old yarn. I'll bet that color combination is fun to work on!
I'm not familiar with doulton leicester. It looks like it is a border leicester. Would love to try it!
Your new sweater is beautiful!
Merci beaucoup!
The color of the shawl is gorgeous on you!
I'm always excited when you post a new podcast. Recently I am knitting the Sabai Top by Paula Strickt. I am enjoying all the summer knits and excited about knitting in pure linen!
Hello! I hope all is well with you. You'll look great in that top. So simple and elegant.
Thank you!
Very sorry to learn of Candy Skein's demise, the closest thing to my LYS. Wah! I've still got a few of her skeins in stash, and would have added more had I known.
There's a few colorways that I wish I had gotten more of.
Hi Kathy. I'm a brand new subscriber. 👋 I loved hearing about your projects and really like your color pallet. Currenly, I'm excited about knitting fingering weight sweaters. They are my favorite to wear, even if they grow slowly.
Fingering weight is the best!
I made the Garden cardigan with Silky Wool. A fun easy knit
I am so excited about the halloween socks i am making. They r so fun. Very much enjoying your podcast
Thank you! Socks are such a great way to try fun designs or colorwork.
@@northwestknitting5993 I’m sure you will, Kathy! It’s still summer, after all🌞
First time viewer really enjoyed spending some time with you. I am re knitting the suri sweater by caidre this summer , I am not one to pull out and go again but I miss judged my size and made it huge. 😅
Your sweater is beautiful. Like the color.
Love to knit socks
I might be getting there!
Thank you! That pattern looks very satisfying, and I'd love to try Linen Quill. The colors are so delicious.
When you don't have three hands.....I think the Sophie scarf is such a great gift. I wear mine a lot.
I do love that pattern and would like to knit it again.
This is the first video I have seen of yours. Loved it and your doing beautiful work😊
I am excited to be knitting the Oban Cardigan right now. I am a new knitter and it is challenging, but very exciting! I love the way it is turning out!
I am excited to see your next video!😊
Thank you! I have always loved the Oban and really all of Thea Colman's patterns,
Hi from a new subscriber in the UK!
I hope you have a good recovery!
Love the color your cardi ended up Kathy. Amazingly different to what you would expect. I think the cardi pattern is already in my Favourites. Love the cute shawl. Just my size!
Thank you!
Very excited about knitting ribbed cotton socks right now. Found your channel just a week ago. Great giveaway! Looking forward to seeing more of your episodes.
Thank you!
Lovely podcast. I’m enjoying knitting the Venezia Shawl by Joji Locatelli, in some cotton, alpaca stash yarn.... lovely lace edging....
Thank you! That Boxy Lace Tee looks like a fun piece to wear. I enjoyed Absolution very much, also McDermott's Charming Billy.
Hi Kathy was so glad to find your podcast I live in Vancouver but have not found any yarn festivals.
I was. just recently talking to a friend about great it would be to visit Vancouver again. Such a beautiful city! And then we wondered about knitting festivals or retreats up there.
I love my garden cardigan so much I’m making the pullover now!
It looks so good!
I love your gentle, unhurried videos. I would love to try a pair of Latvian style socks. I recently bought a book of patterns for them and the giveaway yarn would be perfect.
Thank you!
That's interesting, about the sleeves and make so much sense in my experience. Thanks for watching!
Love your transatlantic socks, I would am currently knitting another Virginia Sattler-Reimer pattern "second Breakfast".
Love the blue cardigan
I acquired some nice alpaca blend for $5/skein and I'm inspired to knit my grandson a nice sweater. He's A teen so that's the challenge! Wonderful podcast!
I haven't knit a sweater for a man yet, but it is on my list for this winter.
I really like KDD. I will have to take a look. I’m not a fan of boatneck on me so may rework it. It’s bottom up so I still have time to figure it out. Happy Knitting.
Your marked socks give inspiration! Currently finishing the Black Wolf Sweater by Linka Nuemann here in the southern hemisphere NZ 🧶🇳🇿
Black Wolf looks so cozy!
Thank you! Baby sweaters are so much fun. A good way to try out a design.
Hi from one Kathy to another! I am a rabid sock knitter and would love to be considered for the giveaway. I have met the gals who own Skagit Woolen Works and spun some of their wonderful fiber. They are such great people and it’s so fun to see their business really take off. Thanks for highlighting them ❤
Hi, Kathy! I'm so happy to support a regional business like theirs.
Just found your channel. Love your color palettes and those transatlantic socks are gorgeous. I am a mostly sock knitter and would love to win the yarn you are gifting. I am working on Sumner Lee’s the Little Dots socks. They are so stinking cute!
Thank you! Summer Lee has some of the cutest patterns.
Knitting takes me to a happy place. I try different patterns and that’s why I have many wips. But it’s ok….
I think jumping in and trying is better than my method which I would call OverThinking before I cast on! Have fun!
@northwestknitting5993 it's very interesting
