BARC is located in Mumbai, Trombay
Dr. Homi Jehangir Bhabha was the founder member of BARC.
Dr. Bhabha started his education in Mumbai from Bombay Cathedral School and later joined Elphinston College. He achieved his doctorate degree in Nuclear Physics from Cambridge University in 1934.
Atomic Energy Establishment Trombay (AEET) was established in 1954.
On 24 January,1966 Dr. Bhabha passed away in plane crash.
There after AEET was renamed by Bhabha Atomic Research Centre in 1967.
Nuclear Energy is used in various fields like Space Exploration, Medical Diagnosis & Treatment, Criminal Investigation etc..
BARC has achieved great heights in Nuclear..
Various Reactors are designed and assimilated by BARC.
In the year 1956,India's first Reactor named Apsara was designed.
Later Pressurized Water Reactor of 80 MW capacity was made which is in Kalpakkam.
India has achieved great success in the field of Nuclear Energy.
Hats off to the Father of Nuclear Energy Dr. Bhabha and to all those great scientists who contributed their brilliancy.
