Another great video, Mayank! The existing airport in Mumbai is hugely overstretched and desperately requires some relief. When this Airport and the one at Jewar are completed, it will be interesting to see passenger and air cargo movement after. I just hope connectivity to and from both airports keeps up with the pace of construction. On another note - the timestamps in the description are not added. Just the chapter names are present. Could you add them?
I am following him from last two years his views has been increased but the subscriber base is not increasing I am very happy that you making such important video to educate us ❤❤ Thanks 😊
2:45 There were 2 incidents where aircrafts landed at Juhu airport instead of CSMIA, one was a DH106 Comet which landed in 1953, it was later flown out after removing it's seats (to reduce takeoff weight) and the other was a Japan airline dc-8 which overran the runway at Juhu and into a ditch, thankfully it stopped before a very busy highway and no casualties were reported
If juhu cannot be made into a good airport, atleast AAI should develop it as a HELIPORT. Every world-class city has one. . The Flying Club can be located along the Ahmedabad highway. But for this, the state govt should push the case.
CSMIA is the busiest single runway airport in the world. IGIA Delhi operates nearly 4.50 lakh flights through 3 runways with 7 crore passengers. While CSMIA Mumbai operates 3.10 lakh flights through single runway with 5 crore passengers

D.B.patil international; airport name is given bcoz he was protector of farmers and local people of that area and thats why his name was given , its a proud movement for local people from agri koli community which are the real mumbaikars
Tatas have done Mumbai proud like nobody and hence the name of the father of indian aviation JRD Tata International Airport .For a international project an international name should be given.
Good information, however, In 1979 Vile Parle terminal's international section was heavily damaged due to a big fire during the pick season of Haj. For almost three weeks the airport was shut down and both domestic and international services started from domestic wing of the same building. Fortunately a new cargo terminal was almost ready at Sahar village (it's no more a village now) and the international passengers were handled from there till a new terminal was built.(used to be known has Sahar airport) As the present Mumbai airport as no space for expansion so is Kolkata airport. Right now Kolkata airport is also in the mid-city.
Chennai Airport isn't located outside the city its situated within the city, and compared to other major airports in India it is easily accessible by all kinds of transport. Plus there are plans for the construction of a second airport, which will be located outside the city limits.
10:42 this is not fully correct. Chennai Airport is still within the city & there's a plan to build a new one about atleast 50 Km away from the current one...that could make the new airport about 50-100 km away depending on where you live.
I was seeing the site since my Childhood with board on site for Proposed Airport(Dream Project of CIDCO). Though land filling done upto 6ft, but over the period it will settled down to the original level. For eg: Kharghar - where the land filling done by CIDCO in 90's 6ft above the Sion - Panvel Highway. As said over the period it came to the level highway, due to rain and other construction work. So, over the time, sands get settle down.

This New airport must be named JRD TATA Intl airport, as Govt must honor him by naming this new airport after his name which was ignored earlier. I agree with what Govt is planning but naming is also important for the Father of the Indian Aviation. After JFK (JOHN F KENNEDY) airport in New York, INDIA must rightly name JRD (JRD TATA INTL AIRPORT) for Mumbai. They must not give this naming honor to any other personality. What is this nonsense of naming this new airport under DB PATIL INTL AIRPORT? This is THE SECOND TIME JRD TATA's name was not chosen by the Maharashtrian Govt? How many would endorse his name? Please respond. THANK YOU.

The design of the terminals is not optimum. One of the basic principles of airport designs is to have as short distance as possible between the furthest gates. I hope they have people movers of sort or else it's going to be a crazy long walk.
