I'm so with Christy here. At first I kept waiting for "Day 2" black screen to come up. It never got quite as good as that opening while still being a lot of suspenseful fun. Also, Christy being the outlier this week with this, Cruella, and Moby Doc!! I'm here for it!! I haven't seen the other two but Christy is sharp and clear on her comments she's really knocking out of the park.
The events in the yard felt like it must’ve been from the first movie, but actually I’ve seen the preview scene so many times I know it by heart by now. The movie is awesome. Crowd pleasing, begging for a sequel, (yes YES), but also exactly what we need to start venturing back into the cinema. Alonso’s review is spot on. I would love to see a big blockbuster space sci fi sequel, but that’s for a different franchise I guess. 9/10
Loved the movie. I would compare this to Aliens and the first movie is Alien. There is more action in part 2 plus more people and you see the monsters everywhere where as in the first movie it’s more about the isolation and survival aspect and we only see one monster.
Just watched it last night. The first movie I've seen in a theater since the pandemic. Great experience, the theater didn't have too many people in it, but the jumpscares definitely scared everyone in there. I like the sequel much better than the original. I felt like there were more action scenes, more suspenseful scenes, and there was more character development in this one than in the first movie. I didn't like some of the plot points, like the kid randomly deciding to go out of the underground bunker for absolutely no reason, and makes a sound, and almost kills his baby brother and his mother because of it. That whole sequence was just unnecessarily stupid. But overall, I loved it, and can't wait for Quiet Place 3. It's gonna be a huge hit.
@Matt @Alonso @Christy is there any way of Turning the sound up on the videos? It's very low. I've got the volume all the way up and it's still hard to hear you all very clearly. Thank you. Love the show.
I have mine all the way up and I'm sitting next to the washing machine in my kitchen and can hear it fine? I do have noise cancelling headphones on, maybe that helps.
@@gdaymates431 maybe. I'm listening on my phone using earphones. It's not this particular video. I would say it's it's been the past years worth of videos that have low sounds. I watch them every week. And if I'm not in a very quiet space it's very hard to hear them.
I agree w/ Christy. Nothing can match the experience of the original, since it caught everyone off-guard. This sequel is fantastic nevertheless. AQP: A+ AQP2: A
I’m surprised at the (relatively) low numbers on this review, given your conversation. I heard maybe one or two negatives but I would think not enough to justify scores in the 7s. I know it’s just a number but the fact that you all landed in that range makes me want to hear more from you on what you didn’t like.
I liked the first 10mins. I felt the overall movie was just ok. I agree the conversation didn't match their scores. I think people like the director and wanted to speak highly of the film.
People desperately wanted to like this movie so they’ll ignore all the wrong with the movie to justify their initial desires. If this was made by anyone else and called something else, the critics would trash this.
ive seen few ppl here mentioning in the comments, and ill go even more far then them .. this has to be one of the worst movies ive seen ever .. ! i have no idea why its praised on the review or in general .. the core story is ok, the videography is fine too, and thats it... everything else SUCKS! the plot is pure crap, the cgi same, .. just a few bright spots mainly thats to the super talented Noah Jupe, the scene where hes foot gets in the trap, the way he reacted with a delay as being in shock, was aps spot on , i had a similar thing happened as a kid when i busted my skin on the ancle and it cracked and i could see the bone.. i had a reaction literally after a minute, till then i didnt even realise what happened till i started to feel wet in the socks (blood) .. and the send scene where hes locked in that chamber thing and sharing air with the baby , very dramatic and not pleasant scene to watch, he nailed it , thats all the good i can say about this ... horrible movie
The sequel was nowhere near as good as the original. It barely earns it's 97 minute run time. Krasinski teases interesting developments that go nowhere. And he seems to give the daughter more to do at the expense of Emily Blunt, who is little more than a scared mommy here. And then it ends even more abruptly than the first film, cynically assuming we will flock to A Quiet Place III
During that bus/reverse driving scene, I also liked how the brother yells, "There's dad!", it kept the location in mind, where everyone is.
Thank you for making the volume louder on the YT vids! (if it's a coincidence thank you anyways)
off-topic: what happened to Christy's massive water jars? I miss the jars.
I kept hoping she would bring in a water cooler container one day just to screw with people.
@@keefriff99 Alhambra Sponsorship, if you're listening....
She’s had a water tube surgically implanted just under her chin-you can tell if she turns her head in low light.

Cillian Murphy is soo good in this
hmm, the way you guys describe it i thought your #s would be in the 8s or 9s

I liked it but it could have been a smidge longer. It's need to get to the finale as quickly as it did, feels a bit overly hurried.
Unfortunately here in Canada I won't be able to see it in a theater any time soon. :(
This movie was excellent
Ok I'm lost. And I just watched this movie tonight. What are the 3 "threads" that Krasinski dropped and picked up to "Holy shit!" effect?
Hmm, not sure what you mean (it's been a while!).

Yeah, it was a very good sequel
Loved it! Krasinski has becoming a fantastic writer/director.
Great film really enjoyed seeing it in the theatre
I have not seen either film.
Love your reviews
I should be all over this.

Exactly. It wasn''t that great!
agree
The movie sucked but no one has the balls to say it
Exactly. The loved the director so the give the movie a decent review.
Reminded me of the last of us game.
Based on these 2 movies, is John Krasinski now the current master of suspense ?
no
yes, and stephen king gave him compliments on the first one

It was entertaining, but by no means original. Same horror movie clichés and plot devices we’ve seen a millions times.
7.4, 7.8 and 7.5. You guys were not enthusiastic at-all. Sounds like a Streamer.
Or maybe theirs aren’t the only three opinions in the world? You’d be a fool to not see this in a theatre.

Which we all will!
Too many weird animal noises in the background. Go inside, Matt.
