So little batter goes into each cookie. Making those is truly an act of love!

I have a funny stories about rosettes.....in my teen, one of my friends was running for "Queen of Trail" which was given to the girl who made the most money. I'd never had them before, and once I had one, I saw stars....they were so wonderful, and she won selling them outside Eaton's at a small table. Later, in my 30's, I found rosette irons and one afternoon, I sat on a tall stool and made 2 batches. So delicious, and just as my boyfriend walked through the door, I finished the last one....burp!!! So this year, I'm going to try them again....and they'll be all mine all over again! So happy!!!

I really am pleased I found you two. I watch your video's over and over again. Knitting along with it. I have found you very entertaining, relaxing and such friendly polite way to enjoy learning new things. I have encorporated many ideas along with my own work. I order many colors of yarn you created. I have been knitting for 70 yrs. and still learning! Tk you for sharing your experience. From a faithful watcher in midwest Canadian!

I made the Rosette cookies tonight. A friend gave me the molds years ago, but I didn't know how to use them until I watched your video. They came out just fine. I used powdered sugar on them. Next time I think I will try cinnamon sugar.

My Danish mother-in-law taught me how to make klejner. She bought whole cardamom pods and ground the seeds herself, and she fried them in lard. She dusted them wit powdered sugar. They were so delicious and addictive. Her mother cooked for the Danish royal family. She was a wonderful cook. My Swedish descent mother said that her mother also made them for Christmas, the cookie was the same but the name was a little different. She thought these cookies were made in all of the Scandinavian countries. Do you make them? I tried making them and the were not as good. I didn't use lard, however. I do add cardamom to other recipes, even oatmeal cookies. Love cardamom.

This bought tears to my eyes! I remember these from childhood! The couple next door, their parents moved to America to be with their daughter and husband and their children built them a guest house! Every Christmastime Yule, Gramama would come over with plates of these and we the neighours would all come and help! What a wonderful memory!!!! I had completely forgotten all about it! Thank you! Thank you so much. They were from Norway a little vilage way out there which was why her daughter didn't want her to live there alone. She missed her terribly. Such comfort. Each Yule is different but those were extremely warm and special years.

These remind me of buñuelos- the Mexican ones- I know the ones from Spain are round. rosette irons are used too. I actually used your dough recipe to make them just crisped them slightly longer and dipped them into a cinnamon/sugar mix once they came out of the fryer... thanks for sharing 😊

My son in law is from Sweden and I have visited several times and I loved the food Olaf’s mother fixed, the fresh fish market and the farm house where parents, grandparents and greats lived it is beautiful with three stories. Your house reminds me of Olaf’s. Visited some very old churches which I loved. You know in USA even old historic is very young in comparison. Thank you 😊

My ex is full Norwegian. He had a rosette iron when we met. Omg i love those things. They are lovely when done. And so so tasty.. but alas i never got the hang of making them but i know why now since Arne mentioned not getting batter over the top of the irone which is what i was doing. Arne yours were beautiful. I let my ex do the work and he did a fine job. Will get another iron soon and try again. THANK YOU. My ex's parents were both born in Norway so they spoke it to my ex daily. He knows many words yet but its rusty now since they have been gone many years.
