This video is to show the Nitto drag radial did not work in our application. I don’t think it’s a bad tire but will not hook. We switched to the Hoosier and it works great.

Thank you! I love the color on it. I don’t know if I’d recommend them. For street driving they’d be fine, but I wouldn’t recommend for the strip.

The G2 is steer tire. Not meant for the rearset with big power. Run the G2s up front with matching 2Rs in the back. You'll like the combo.

I’ve heard similar things about the Nittos. Will be curious to see what the Hoosier Drag Radials do, if that is the direction your leaning. I definitely appreciate your videos. As Ruben said, it helps novices like me.

Is it just me or did they spin in every vid? Guess it comes down to the spend now? Mickey Thompson Drag ETs next?

We were looking more at the Hoosiers. We want more of a track radial than a street radial if that makes sense?

Just curious if you did a little burnout or a bigger burnout? I just ran mine for the first time this weekend. Some of the issue I think was the 90 degree temps and lack of track prep early in the day. I have a Demon with a 512 4 speed 3.91s and SS springs and the R2s in a 275/60. Out of five passes and launching around 3k rpm my best 60' was a 1.81 and. worst was a 2.09. Clearly spinning. They did not seem to spin with the 1.81. I did do a larger burnout on that pass and have 18psi in them. Next time I will be hitting it harder on the burnout and lower air pressure. I am hoping for better results. Last fall I had the original nt555r on and ran a best 60' of 1.73. First time out with the new setup. I had lots of tire chatter but it worked.

We did not find any difference in a big burnout or small burnout. Sometimes it would hook to a 1.65 then spin to 1.80. It was random, we lost in a final round same conditions that we hooked previous round. We had 48% rear bias and could not hook on our last event even after adding 2 tractor weights. The tires got worse the more passes we made.
Running Hoosiers dot radials now. 1.63 with 18 lbs and our worse 60ft is 1.65 in over 20 passes. We leave at 1500 and it flashes to 4400 rpm. SS springs and drag shocks /6 bars

I don't know anything about racing tires, but that real sucks about the inconsistently of those tires. What are yalls plans now? Full Slicks?

We are looking into different radials. There was a guy who just went into the 5’s on 275 drag radials. Just kinda want to make them work.

I'm shocked you aren't consistently hooking with R2s at a little over 400whp. What PSI are you running those R2s at?
I hook every time with 634rwhp/568rwtq on that tire as long as they are warm and at about 15 to 17 psi. When my vette was 428rwhp/408rwtq I could hook consistently at 20-25 psi on those tires.
Maybe your too high on the psi?

We’ve tried everything from 15-20 and nothing helped. How prepped was your track? On a prepped track they would hook but if the track started going away at all we spun

@@jerayracing Radial prep and test & tune prep. So super sticky and not so super sticky. To your point though, it has to be prep conditions and maybe outside temps. Guys running much more power than me (850+rwhp) putting it to the ground running 10s with the R2s. That's what turned me onto them.

Yea I wish we had the same results. I read the reviews how good they were and that’s why we bought them. But after the second time out they started to spin. But when it’s prepped good they were fine. Running the Hoosier drag radials now and they are fantastic.

@@jerayracing excellent! That’s a plus. Hopefully they give you decent longevity. If the R2s start letting me down Hoosier’s are next.
