Hi James James I never got to know why you had surgery on your right arm I know mine hurts pretty bad after playing way to much so I break for4 5 days. Ok do you really put Ernie ball strings on your Gibson acoustic guitars? I have been using Gibson q12_53 light gauge cause its the only gauge the epiphone can take and I don't like all of the heavy coating on my guitar I guess I spoiled myself with Gibson strings so honestly tell me please! I may just have to get use to the sound of th other strings ya think?
I just wanted to know if you had the tab available for THE MOODY BLUES "Lovely To See You , and I also just happen to be listening to your question& answer with your sister and love that you mentioned John Denver for your Desert Island 5.
James James hi i have to let you know that I comment from my phone and tablet so in case you are getting 2 duff what evers!! But it's me Tami . I hope you don't think i am not to smart i just don't know a lot about tuning etc I taught myself how to play when i was a kid I use to go to a music store that sold individually sheet music back in the 70's i learned by the cord charts and here I am LEARNING from a pro so thank you for being here i am so happy to have you around i am advanced as a player but more so now THANKS to you. I get up and do my chores and shower and hit the guitar and play from 7:30 am 8 am to 10pm or on into 3 am if my neighbors are not giving me hell over nothing. Yeah I am getting ready to try and move to Colorado i have to i am on medication and i am not ever going to be normal to anyone unless I am on medical marijuana i am not a doper I just race in my mind and talk to fast nobody likes me but I do. Music has saved my entire life and the guitar.. You are my hero!!
The only thing that makes me sad is I am never going to be able to get another guitar i wanted the dove but could not get it and i saw the humming bird and got it the last one at russos in New Jersey and i love it but i am like you in the way of the sound of the maple compared to mahogony i really like it i like the deeper sound kind of better but happy with what I have and i am going to keep trying to get another guitar!! I wish I was your neighbor and i bet you don't!! Lol
I am still wondering what you had surgery on your right arm for. I have to take 4 5 days off cause I get in to much pain Holy moly yeah i hurt and some times I push it. Ok well happy Thanksgiving 2021

Let it Bleed..but there are really so many. I'll take Dylan's Desire over John Denver and LZ 2 over Graffiti though. As brief as it is, the solo on "Hear my train a'comin" is the definition of guitar solo. Bollocks! 😀 And it's my right shoulder. Thank again for your lessons. Good evening. 👍

Glad your on the mend James. Enjoy your lessons a lot and I usually work on a couple of new ones a week. Your recoup will give me time to catch up on my backlog of 20😀. till your playing return take care.

I'm sure everyone would like to see your face, but like with radio personalities you get a picture in your mind, then you find out later, they look nothing like you imagined. ;)
Hello Mr. & Mrs. James lol. Been watching your videos for a while and I'm very grateful for all your work and lessons. You kinda freaked me out on your first vid after surgery, hope you're recuperating nicely. Really enjoyed this video and all the topics you touched on, some really funny stuff between you and your wife. Did not know about the Mexican cokes, went ahead and ordered 2 cases of it and just finished my first one w a nice pastrami sandwich ;o) a very pleasant treat for sure, for special occasions only. Take care & be well, both of you.
So True!!!!! Not a word of a lie, just before sitting down to watch this, I got my poster from inside my "Live at Leeds" album. It's right in front of me because I'm trying to figure out exactly where I want to hang it! Even that poster is epic! The ultimate live album of all time.
@@PitcairnIslander Being from Leeds this was always such a special album, it was even better when my son made it the first album he put on his cell/mobile phone!
Love hearing the banters and laughs from you and the Missus. Yes, the world needs more laughs. Question: Did you ever compose a song for the Missus ??? Can we hear it?
Have you heard of/listened to the British band Dr Feelgood (the 'classic' lineup of Lee Brilleaux, Wilko Johnson, The Big Figure and John B Sparks)? If so, have you ever tried to play their music and what do you think of Wilko Johnson?
Last time I gave some medication advice - this time some guitar care advice: toggle switches like on that Gretsch or Les Pauls are best kept in the neutral/center position when not in use. This is because in the up or down position they are pressing against a flexible piece of metal, that over years of remaining under tension can bend a bit and create a poor contact...it simply prolongs the life of the switch. For those who will want to criticize (I've heard these people exist on the internet), this advice was given to me by a master luthier of impeccable credentials. Good luck in your recovery, and you and your "lovely assistant" have a great dynamic - you are clearly great friends and that is why your marriage is so strong.

I don’t expect we’ll see him play much, but he’s not bad. He could probably still start for somebody. I don’t think the Bears would have been much better with someone else at QB.
You said it: the Bollocks album is perfect from start to end. Also, love the Spinal Tap references (that was one of the greatest films ever made). And finally, Led Zeppelin was and will always be the greatest rock and roll band.
Well I was always interested in the cars you drive because I saw the little toy cars behind you .I thought you were a BMW guy because I saw you once with an M logo T shirt .I owned a two seater too a BMW M roadster but sold it lately when my wife died and changed it for a Mini Cooper coupe JWC .but the S 2000 was also one I liked .You don't have a motorbike like a Harley or so? My lifestyle is a almost same as yours .No children ,(had a lovely wife) and I like music and cars and bikes too I wouldn't be surprised if you have aquarius as horoscoop like me .
speaking of elvis, went down to las vegas in 75 to see him at the hilton but at the last minute he canceled because of sickness[i'm sure it was drug related, he was missing at lot of shows back then. , they filled in with bill cosby instead. what a disappointment although cosby was funny. what's your biggest disappointment at a concert that you went to or have they been all good? thanks
Hey man interesting to get to know your background taste in music agree with most answers especially on Hendrix. Tune in on your lessons find your breakdown is right on and like your song choice thanks and get well soon .

Like the Q&A’s, Jimmy, I mean JJ Got a question. While you’ve been convalescing and unable to play have you, in your head and by your ears, learned any new songs? I’ll go for 5.
G'day JJ and Misses JJ, glad your recovery is going well, and hope that you're both enjoying the weekend. Loving this series while you get better. Respect for not showing your face, and focus on playing guitar instead for all these years, I'm still subbed to your old channel too. What's your favorite bootleg album of Hendrix? Maybe I'm a bit on eyed here, but can you name any bands that started in either the 60's or 70's and continued into the 80's and still sounded kick ass.... other than AC/DC ;)
You're content is by far the best on UA-cam. I could talk rock music with you for months interrupted only for sleep. Could give fuck all about your face. Weird thing, i would've answered all those questions with 99% similarly. Heal up JJ, have had the exact surgery and physical therapy sucks but is so essential. Will leave you with this...i as well HATE changing strings! And i own 29 guitar's...no twelve strings 😁👍
Throughout the years you've shown lessons of Zeppelin songs where there may be a snippet of a solo that you mention how Jimmy Page used that in another song. I wondered if over all the years you may have concentrated at all on the Bass Guitar, analyzing routine patterns, habits, quirks of your favorites? McCartney, Jonesey, Wyman,.......?
Love your playing, beautiful guitar as well.
love your acknowledgement of the La's as a band

GREAT stuff loving it
Question: If you form a bar band now and want to play a few gigs, what kind of material or genre would you like to play more?
If you’re a bar band, you have to play stuff people can dance to and sing along with. Otherwise, you’re not going to get hired back.
A question for your next q & a. What do you think about the epiphanies casino and why don’t you have one? Have you ever had one?

How do you get to meet all those people (the president, frampton, clapton,...)?
“Are you aware the Steve Vai also has his right arm incapacitated.”
Also--have you ever seen the video of Mr. Jimmy on youtube and are you impressed?
I'm well familiar with Mr. Jimmy. He's fantastic.

I have a question, why are comments turned off on a lot of your videos?
Comments aren't turned off on any James James videos, at least not that I know of.
What the first song you'll be playing when you can???
Something quiet.
The more of these you do, the more I learn about you... and Mrs. and you both. All I'll say is I am so very happy for you both.

Have you had the urged to learn another instrument? Piano, brass? March 13.
Love your lovely assistant’s response to one of your questions to her: “I wasn’t paying attention.” She’s a Dudeist!
What happened to James' s shoulder?
He bought a $50,000 dollar Les Paul and his wife beat him with it...ahahaha....surgery....rotator cuff?....Hes getting better
Great to see you getting better! Godspeed!
Also, you can mimic a 12 string with a pedal, but with ease of playing...
Before anyone else says it, and before I even finish the video, always great advice, JJ!
"more of a James Burton fan..." Yes!
I love the Band of Gypsys album! Especially Power to Love the solo on that is his best, in my opinion.
Except the scat part
Hey buddy. Let’s hear it. I trust you are doing ok. Prayin for you and your lovely assistant.
I don't consider myself a bass player.
Get well soon, bro. I've had rotator cuff problems since my early 20's, I'm 58 now.
not that anyone's asking but the only songs i have given up on - is anything by john mayer.
Why is your sling on your left arm now?
Had rotator cuff surgery on both shoulders.
