I'm fairly sure its km/h the "k" is just hidden behind the steering wheel, if u zoom in enough u can see a sliver of another letter next to the "m". Altho it would make more sense to be mph cuz this is america but speedometers rarely go up to 300 MILES an hour especially in a mini van like that but for kph it's sorta normal, ALSO on car speedometers they never write miles per hour "m/h" it's almost always "mph". U r all retards.

There's like 7 different insects and animals that can pollinate, and that's not including individual species (the movie only shows honey bees but there's like thousands of other bees so its not much of a big deal), also the majority of plants reproduce asexually and sexually (pollination) so even if honeybees disappeared it wouldn't matter since humans can help plants reproduce asexually through various means and even then they can just hand pollinate.
TLDR: Multiple animals can pollinate aside from bees(and humans can just hand pollinate), and most plants can also reproduce asexually so yeah.

Pilot here- the whole entire airplane scene made me cringe but some extra fun facts are:
    1) the emergency life raft isn't even stored in the flight deck, but in the main cabin. There obviously is no red button that deploys the life raft but if in some alternate universe there was, it would most likely have a clear cover. Some buttons and switches are covered just to prevent people from accidentally pressing them.
    2) this movie is obviously post 9/11 so Vanessa can't just barge into an airplane cockpit mid flight. There is a keypad that unlocks the cockpit door that only the flight crew know.
    3) if you look closely you can see three yellow bars on both of the pilots shoulders. This means they are both senior first officers. It is required to have at least one captain (4 bars) on each flight. You can fly captain/FO, captain/captain, but you cannot fly FO/FO like how they did in the movie.

  • @LastGoatKnight

Fun fact about bees: males are called drones and their sole purpose is to impregnate virgin queens from other colonies then die. Those who fail in this and return alive into the hive are killed because they just eat and don't work. And because when the cold comes every last bit of food is needed for survival they would just eat food without purpose. And also: the other bees other than the queen can lay eggs but they're usually caught, killed and their eggs are eaten. Though I don't know what happens to an unfertilized egg layed by a worker I have a hunch that no bee larva will come out, that's for sure😅.
Why did I write this? Because I don't want to go down on the rabbit hole of this movie starting with a bee falling in love with a human and maybe vice versa because they're as incompatible as plants and animals, biologically speaking
5:35 Yes, bees doesn't get hurt by smoke, they get sleepy but they can suffocate in that. Though it's very, VERY unlikely. Besides the movie shows this as a cruel act while in reality they don't care. Those who are domesticated collect pollen and nectar 24/7 throughout the year, they do not need to survive the winters. Just the transportation which, to be honest, only hard to the fresh queens not the colony

Also it doesn't matter, if the drones were successful or not. They get denied entry to the hive or killed when they return. If they successfully mate with a queen their dicks break off and they die.
Drones can't even eat on their own, they need to be fed by workers. They are just a bag of testicles with wings with the sole purpose of mating.

  • @spacefanproductions6254
    @spacefanproductions6254 Рік тому +203

As a beekeeper I'd like to add some (two) cents to this:
    1. All the main character bees in this are for some reason male which makes no sense as male bees literally only exist for reproduction and never leave the hive otherwise; they also do not possess a stinger, which is part of the female reproductive system of bees, so they can't possibly die from stinging someone (though they do die by their organs getting ripped out during/after bee sex). The bees that can actually sting several times without dying are bee queens, and that is because their stingers do not possess a hooked end like worker bees (which are all basically just female bees castrated by pheromones produced by the queen).
    2. The smoke does not really harm the bees, they just think that there is a fire nearby, and since the honey bees' natural habitat is hollow trees they would certainly prefer to leave flammable wood behind. Before doing so, however, they fill themselves up with lots of honey because it is such a precious resource, and since their stomachs are so full of honey their stingers can no longer be used properly, which ultimately works in favour of whoever is around the bees (though bees very rarely do actually sting, unless you're like an utter moron [I have spent around 6 years beekeeping and only got stung once in that time]).
I hope this explains some uncertainties to whoever might read this.

If you’re wondering how bees can fly, it only works because of air density at different sizes. The air at that level of smoll is somewhat Iike water or honey, which is why the bees wings paddle not flap. Also, fun fact: if a bee was the same size as a plane, it would zoom faster than the speed of sound, then promptly splat on the ground because, once again, differing air densities.

Honey begins when our valiant Pollen Jocks bring the nectar to The Hive.

So you'll just work us to death?

    Right.
Look. That's more pollen than you and I will see in a lifetime.
    It's just a status symbol.
Bees make too much of it.

    Barry!
A puddle jump for us, but maybe you're not up for it.
    Maybe I am.
    You are not!
    We're going 0900 at J-Gate.
    What do you think, buzzy-boy?
    Are you bee enough?
I might be. It all depends on what 0900 means.
    Hey, Honex!
    Dad, you surprised me.
You decide what you're interested in?
Well, there's a lot of choices.
    But you only get one.
Do you ever get bored doing the same job every day?
Son, let me tell you about stirring.
You grab that stick, and you just move it around, and you stir it around.
You get yourself into a rhythm.
    It's a beautiful thing.
You know, Dad, the more I think about it,
maybe the honey field just isn't right for me.
You were thinking of what, making balloon animals?
That's a bad job for a guy with a stinger.
Janet, your son's not sure he wants to go into honey!
Barry, you are so funny sometimes.
I'm not trying to be funny.
You're not funny! You're going into honey. Our son, the stirrer!
    You're gonna be a stirrer?
    No one's listening to me!
Wait till you see the sticks I have.
I could say anything right now.
I'm gonna get an ant tattoo!
Let's open some honey and celebrate!
Maybe I'll pierce my thorax. Shave my antennae. Shack up with a grasshopper. Get a gold tooth and call everybody "dawg"!
    I'm so proud.
    We're starting work today!
    Today's the day.
Come on! All the good jobs will be gone.
    Yeah, right.
Pollen counting, stunt bee, pouring, stirrer, front desk, hair removal...
    Is it still available?
    Hang on. Two left!
    One of them's yours! Congratulations!
    Step to the side.
    What'd you get?
    Picking crud out. Stellar!
    Wow!
    Couple of newbies?
Yes, sir! Our first day! We are ready!
    Make your choice.
    You want to go first?
    No, you go.
    Oh, my. What's available?
Restroom attendant's open, not for the reason you think.
Any chance of getting the Krelman?
    Sure, you're on.
I'm sorry, the Krelman just closed out.
    Wax monkey's always open.
    The Krelman opened up again.
    What happened?
A bee died. Makes an opening. See? He's dead. Another dead one.
    Deady. Deadified. Two more dead.
Dead from the neck up. Dead from the neck down. That's life!
    Oh, this is so hard!
Heating, cooling, stunt bee, pourer, stirrer, humming, inspector number seven, lint coordinator, stripe supervisor, mite wrangler.
Barry, what do you think I should... Barry?
    Barry!
All right, we've got the sunflower patch in quadrant nine...
    What happened to you?
    Where are you?
    I'm going out.
    Out? Out where?
    Out there.
    Oh, no!
I have to, before I go to work for the rest of my life.
You're gonna die! You're crazy! Hello?
    Another call coming in.
If anyone's feeling brave, there's a Korean deli on 83rd that gets their roses today.
    Hey, guys.
    Look at that.
Isn't that the kid we saw yesterday?
Hold it, son, flight deck's restricted.
It's OK, Lou. We're gonna take him up.
    Really? Feeling lucky, are you?
Sign here, here. Just initial that.
    Thank you.
    OK.
You got a rain advisory today, and as you all know, bees cannot fly in rain.
So be careful. As always, watch your brooms, hockey sticks, dogs, birds, bears and bats.
Also, I got a couple of reports of root beer being poured on us.
Murphy's in a home because of it, babbling like a cicada!
    That's awful.
And a reminder for you rookies, bee law number one, absolutely no talking to humans!
    All right, launch positions!
Buzz, buzz, buzz, buzz! Buzz, buzz, buzz, buzz! Buzz, buzz, buzz, buzz!
    Black and yellow!
    Hello!
You ready for this, hot shot?
    Yeah. Yeah, bring it on.
    Wind, check.
    Antennae, check.
    Nectar pack, check.
    Wings, check.
    Stinger, check.
Scared out of my shorts, check.
    OK, ladies,
    let's move it out!
sorry, youtube didnt let me comment the whole script. :(

Honestly, watching this as an adult, Barry is the only sane person in the entire movie. He is understandably freaked out by a sapient, talking bee, is upset that his GF is literally cheating on him with said bee, gets insane in the process and still gets framed as a bad guy.

Fun fact: honeybees are actually not that good of pollinators and actually make it harder for better pollinators like butterflies and bats to properly pollinate plants. They also spead diseases and mutations to bumble bees, which is part of the reason they’re on the brink of extinction.

5:40 Not only does it not hurt them, but Bees in Bee farms are there by choice. If they don't like the conditions they will literally just leave. In fact, I think bees are the only animals humans have this relationship with, where it's a mutually benefitial agreement that either party can just opt out of at any time.

@7:30 The realization that the court battle was going on at least 3 years puts Ken's breakdown in new light, Barry was taking a lot (now we know 3 YEARS!) of time with her from him, (my man was being very patient beyond patient), getting hard to get time to be alone with her, (cause Barry is trying his hardest to go buzzing in those Lips 😉, )and now seems to be(e) getting flirty with her right in front of him, and Barry in the end opens a shop with her, giving another blow to Ken, I actually don't blame him for snapping. #KenDidNothingWrong
