I really dig this widget. I have found its also great to be able to name with the associated switch "Flaps SD" "Gear SC" "Rates SB" and so on. Not all of my models are the same setup (or even have flaps) so its a great visual reminder of what switch does what. Initially, I just wanted a "Model Notes" page or something with the info, but his is WAY better!
So I loaded some of my plane pictures in my images folder on the Tx, 50kb to 150kb each jpeg it showed the images in the model, for the first 2, then when I went to add another image, it did not like it when I pressed "manage models" it froze, So i ended up deleting most of the ones I loaded. is there a size that i can use? has this happened to anyone else that you know of?

Smaller file sizes will run faster but I've used larger ones without much trouble. Hi Shane. Have followed your excellent video and have loaded widgets to my TX18s for aileron and elevator. Have checked and double checked and although they appear to be correct they do transmit to the model. Have also loaded instant trim, timer,and sounds. I am shaw it is just a small admission on my part but just cannot seem to find the problem. Cheers
HI Shane, Loaded aileron and elevator useing high, med, and low rates also including volume, play track, timer 1 reset, instant trim and timer display on (Widget) introduction page. All of these seem to be operating, but they do not transmit to the plane that is loaded and bond. At present I only have one aircraft loaded and will wait until this issue is solved before including the rest of the fleet. This is a new transmitter (edgeTX) but have used Open TX for a long time. Sorry, still not exactly sure what the question is. You say the rx and tx are bound but no controls are transmitting to the rx/plane? Nothing at all? Perhaps take some pictures of your inputs and mixer pages and email them to me? My email is in the about section of my channel. Also, let me know what receiver you are using and what protocol you have the TX set to.
Hi ONce again I have not explained clearly. I am useing FS-iA6b rx and the Flsky protocol. All the control surfaces operate as they should but when I go to the appropiate sw for low rate, med rat, and hg rate, on rudder elevator and aileron they do not respond. I hope this makes it clearer, but I will send photos later when my phone has charged overnite.
Special Functions using the "Play Track" function. Many voice tracks come in the sound pack. The 3 flap position tracks I have here I generated. The standard one has multiple "flap" call outs, just didn't have exactly what I wanted so made some new ones.
Here's how I do it. Find the model you want. Once you click on it, seems they all have an image of the plane "floating" up in the upper right corner. Rather than clicking on their "images" I just right click on the floating image and click "save image as". It should be a .png file. Be sure to name it a max of 9 characters. If the name, not including the .png, has more than 9 characters you can select it on the list but it won't appear on the TX16S screen.
It looks like you and a few others are only using the instatrim switch to trim out a plane. Do you have a video that shows how to use T1 and T2 switches to trim ail and elev the old school way (using edge TX)
I haven't done any videos on that, I guess becuase it's the same as it would be on any radio. T1-T4 are generally mapped to the main 4 channels as with just about any radio. T4=Rudder, T3=Throttle, T2=Elevator, and T1=Aileron (assuming you are using Mode 2 radio stick setup). When I use those for fine tuning, I just set throttle at about 50-60%, fly level and see if it turns, climbs, or descends, then adjust T1-T4 as needed to get it to fly level. If using Spektrum with a gyro, or really any gyro for that matter, best to turn off any auto-leveling mode while adjusting trim or your trim won't carry over to the non-gyro assisted modes.
@@shanesdiy continuing with the trim discussion, I havent been able to get the T-1 ail to work 1. On the screen you can see the T1 moving so the switch is functioning on the model screen but not in the channel monitor screen 2. when i go into input,mixes, or output, and clic on source or switch everything comes up except T1, T2 T3 or T4.. T5 & T6 even come but not the ones I want. 3. The T-1 moves on the screen when you push the switch but the ailerons do not respond just for curiosity I did a mix where I set up T-6 as the ail switch and that was able to trim the ail , but I would like to get the T-1 to work. PS. I looked at the channel monitor and all switches and inputs move in the channel monitor EXCEPT the AILERON TRIM (T-1). so there is a problem with the T-1 switch signal (because you can see it move on the screen model screen but not on the channel monitor screen
Hi Shane, I've downloaded a couple of widget packs, and I added the "flight" widget I have entered all the parameters (i think) to get it to function, but when I turn throttle on the specific time range, it still does not register a flight has taken place. any suggestions? also, Would you know if the I can use a microzone 8rc Rx with the TX16s, or is there a download for that? I've not done a video yet on the "Flights" widget yet, been considering it though. You have to get 3 things cleared for the specified number of seconds for it to log the flight. A switch, normally would be your throttle cut or "arming" switch. The throttle must be advanced for xx seconds. 3rd, the telemetry must be "talking". If you don't have telemetry, you can manually edit the LUA script, and tell it to ignore telemetry and just look for the switch and throttle. The @Painless360 channel recently did a video on the Flights Widget. He doesn't get into the script editing but shows the basics. Closest I am aware of is the "BattAnalog" widget. Set for sensor "EVIN", turn on "Show_Total_Voltage". It will show voltage and percent. If you don't turn on Show Total Voltage it will show cell voltage instead of pack voltage. The lithium_Ion check box scales it for Li-Ion batteries and will show about 25% high if you have a Li_Po in the plane. Depending on what size box you put the widget in, it will show slightly different info. Top bar you get just basic voltage and %. Larger box in main screen you also see Minimum volts. All the other widgets I tested that will show a % either would not scale it correctly or would not accept data from EVIN.

@@oakland510kid Well, not directly from the EVIN value, at least to my knowledge. You could setup several logical switches for voltage levels that equal various percentage targets you want. I'd set a delay so it had to be below xx volts for at least 20 seconds or so to turn on the logical switch. Then use that logical switch to play a track that says "75 percent", "50 percent", etc. You can either record your own tracks to put in the /SOUNDS/en folder OR you can copy some values from the /SOUNDS/en/SYSTEM folder. In that folder there are a variety of numbers and the word "percent" but you can't access them from a Special Function directly so they would need to be copied to the /SOUNDS/en folder. For example, you could copy the "0050.wav" file for "fifty" and the "percent0.wav". Then to play both tracks you'd have to make 2 special functions linked to 50% logical switch. First play track "50" then another to play track "percent" and radio would say "Fifty Percent". Long post but that's one way to accomplish this. Hope that makes sense. If not, I suppose I could make a short "viewer request" video for that. I get the logic behind it, sometimes I may not remember how long I have left if I have 11.8 volts but if it says 40% that makes more sense. Your 0% doesn't have to be the battery is dead, could be just the voltage when you want to land.

In your model setup if you set the Timer 1 Mode to "Throttle" the timer will only run when the throttle is above minimum. If you set the mode for "Throttle%" the timer will run only when the throttle is above minimum and will also run faster with more throttle. At 100% throttle the timer runs 1 second = 1 second. Lower throttle levels the timer runs slower since you are using battery at a slower rate. Throttle mode set to "Throttle Start" the timer will start as soon as you throttle above minimum but will not stop when you take the throttle back to minimum, it will keep counting down.
SwitchPro generates an error on my tx16 as soon as I select it. GaugePro works fine. Never mind, I misspelled the word switch when I downloaded to my radio. I can't believe Edge TX is so sensitive to spellings.
What is the error? Maybe the script is corrupt. Didn't download correctly or didn't unzip correctly? I'd start by re-downloading the scripts from the source, deleting the old one off the radio and put the fresh file on the radio. Make sure you didn't change the filename or file extension.
Hello Again, Thank you for the site to download images..!! but, just when I think I'm getting the hang of this radio .... So I copied the New images to my image folder as it is plugged into the computer.. I can see the images when I look at the SD card on the radio but when I try to add them to the "model settings" page, only some of the models that originally on the card and just a few of the models I added show. and when I try to add the models i loaded they do not show up. I'm thinking somehow I must have corrupted that image folder. Do I need to download the entire firmware again or is there an easy way.. If I can just get this last item fixed (I will owe you great deal of gratitude and my sanity)
Unlikely you corrupted the SD card and would need to do anything with the firmware. That exists on the radio, not the SD card so doesn't matter what you put on the SD card, you aren't going to corrupt the radio firmware. Now you can "damage" the Radio.yml file that is in the "/RADIO" folder if you modify the contents but you won't do that by putting images in the /IMAGES folder. Are you sure the image filenames and file types are compatible? 9 characters max plus the file extension. For example 123456789.png or 123456789.jpg will work. I don't think it will read .bmp files or .jpeg type. Also, might be some characters it won't read like @ * & % etc. so just use normal characters.

I think I mentioned I dropped the radio and broke one of the switches and I thought the jolt might have messed something up.. I would try to replace the switch but they have QR label stuck across the seam, so i dont want to open the radio and void the warranty,
@@flyjets305 Happy to hear it! Where did you purchase the radio from? Radiomaster direct or from a vendor? I don't see a "warranty void" sticker on mine, maybe I took it off a long time ago. I've had mine open dozens of times for mods, adjustments, etc. Parts are pretty cheap like switches, buttons, upgrade parts, etc. direct from Radiomaster. Shipping is a bit slow but I've always received my items. Not sure what to tell you, personally I rarely plan to attempt to get warranty replacement once I've used something for more than a short time. Unless it was "dead on arrival" I'll just fix things myself.

Interesting. Are you sure you've selected the correct "Batt" value from the source list? What EdgeTX version are you using? There was a telemetry decimal issue a version or two back that I wonder if it might be related. If so it would be fixed in 2.9.3
Great video. Like the widgets. Just two questions. On your main screen, how did you get the text to respond to your gear switch? The plane model seems to be flying over the terrain. How did you do that. All my model images have either a frame or background.
Gear is the same as the "Mode", "Flaps", "TX Batt" on the top. Use your gear switch as the source and put text for UP or DOWN in the correct fields depending on the switch position. It looks different because it is in the main screen rather than the top bar. The widget changes the font automatically when placed there. I get my graphics from skyraccoon.com. You can get a .png file of most planes there which have a transparent background. They look awesome.
I clicked on your skyracoon and my computer went nuts. It froze and showed security alerts. I had to contact Microsoft to clear it. It was loaded with malware, and I was hacked.

I have had trouble like this before. I copied the model to images. But it's not there.

Oh, and not 100% sure on the Microzone receiver. I think it may work with Futaba SFHSS. Might find some info on the rcgroups.com forums.

I've never worked with the T15 but the same widgets should work I think since it is EdgeTX and a color screen.
